Don't bother calling them because they'll literally hang up on you. The desk sargeant answering the nonemergency line just hung up on me before I got the word "hello" out. They prioritize helping businesses they like (Hi Little Italy, enjoying your nepotism? You're obviously the police chief's favorite since he drove to you PERSONALLY and revealed my name when I filed a complaint about you!). But if I call them to my shop because a drugged out "customer" is being violent and destructive, they'll take 45 minutes to show up (even if they're parked literally across the street) and when they get here they don't want to do anything, they refuse to even look at the security footage. If someone threatens or assaults you you'd best handle it yourself because they won't do anything to stop it. They just let methheads wander the streets harassing people and if they do get involved it's to "protect and serve" the methheads and not the taxpaying citizens minding our business. Hostile, self-important, overpaid thugs with not a shred of common decency, work ethic or compassion. This town deserves better. All towns deserve better. Defund the police if they're not going to do their job. read more
