I had some neighbors that were harassing me and my young boy. I called the police because it got to the point where I was ready for a restraining order on them. However, none of that had to happen because the officer did exactly what I wanted and visited the bad neighbor and evidently he relayed my message Perfectly because I haven't heard a peep. Bravo! I've decided to never call the cops in Fort Collins - it's a waste of time. I find them all to be afraid of getting sued. My son had a mental break down and needed help but because he knew who the president was and he knew the date they said he was fine and did not need medical treatment.Short term treatment was all he needed but the police refused to have him admitted to a facility that would help him to calm down... he later got into trouble (stole a banana yes a banana) and was charged with theft and disturbing the peace! read more

Fort Collins PD pulled up to me while jogging with two vehicles, sirens on, and jumped out shouting with their hands on their weapons. Then, they pushed me against a fence, handcuffed me, and refused to tell me what they suspected me of. All they kept repeating was "you know what you did." 15 minutes later, with no explanation, they removed the handcuffs and let me go. I had to call and find out that someone thought I looked like a bike thief they saw. I could accept that the department had a lawful reason to detain me, but they are incredibly unprofessional in how they interact with people they SUSPECT of committing a crime. I wouldn't hire those officers to walk my dog. They're an embarrassment. I hope it's not a reflection of the department as a whole. read more

Harry Fort Collins I've called the FCPD twice about the area of Elizabeth and S. Taft across from the RAM apartments being filled day & night with Hispanics with Ghetto blasters disturbing the neighborhood at all times of the day and night, sometimes after midnight, they tell me they can't do anything unless they're present and can hear it. I haven't seen one FCPD police in this neighborhood for months. The dispatcher I was trying to talk to wouldn't shut her down mouth and kept talking over me because she didn't want to hear. The cops in FC are absolutely worthless, unprofessional and act like immature clowns. read more

I had my wallet stolen at Walmart and they ahd the guy on camera and his name and information but said I had to call cops to get that info . I call cops and waited 3 hours and they never showed up but called me at home saying my wallet is not a priority and they would see about getting the video . They never bothered walamrt . And a week later the nurse at mountain crest said they had my wallet that a patient had it when they came in . So I pick it up and spoke with security . And was told they contacted fcpd and were told there is nothing they can do they are aware I was looking for my license but it's not a priority . So the helpful people at into crest looked me up online and got my number and called . So how is it that getting my wallet stolen which is a crime and all the evidence in the world to go after the person but you chose not to look t the evidence then the person is in custody at mental hospital and the staff are told by fcpd there's nothing they can do . What are you collecting my tax money for when you can't even do your job when it's handed to you in a nice pretty package all the evidence you need . But you choose to do absolutely nothing to help . Now you see why so many people are sick of public servants . Our employees is what you are and you refuse to do your job you should be fired immediately just like any other employee that knowingly refuses to do the job you were hired to do. It's absolutely ridiculous the crooked unprofessional ways you employees of the city of fort collins get away with . Thanks for absolutely nothing . holy shit I cannot believe I'm leaving a review for a police department but I had to do it after being arrested due to my own forgetfulness. I forgot to pay a speeding ticket from many months ago and then sure as shit I ran a god damn red light and one of Ft. Collins finest stopped me to give me a ticket which I deserved. Upon giving the officer who was very professional & cordial my information he returned from his pristine looking squad car to inform me that I had a warrant out for my arrest. Much to my chagrin he asked that I exit my vehicle & turn around & place my hands on the hood of my car. Upon doing this he read me my miranda rights & was then very gentle with putting the handcuffs on my wrists & guiding me to the back off his police vehicle. Go figure if you comply with a law enforcement officials requests & demands & don't attack them or further break the law you will not get tazed or shot or have your ass handed to you in any way shape or form. It was a very smooth ride to the station & I chatted with my arresting officer about everything from golf to stock investments & he even put me in contact with a new investment banker, can you believe that shit? The operation in the booking room was very streamlined & easy to complete, I was in there for less than an hour before I made the necessary arrangements for my release. Every cop I've come in contact with in ft collins has been a dedicated hardworking underpaid professional & I love these Sonsabitches for keeping assholes like me in line, I would definitely get arrested here again, it was a very safe & professional experience, good job Fort Collins Police Department! read more

I have been waiting for the cops to arrive for an hour and a half to deal with some very aggressive neighbors and I'm still waiting.

My car had broken down on I 25 at 2 pm in the afternoon of Dec. 21 and Officer Tyler Payne helped me get to the Windsor Exit and off the highway. He stayed behind me for several miles until I reached the Windsor exit. My car could only go 20 mph and I am sure the officer avoided an accident by staying behind my car until I could safely exit I25. Thank you so much, officer Payne, Badge #FC435. read more

Today we needed help getting my son's stuff out of a room that he rented in a house here in Ft. Collins. Not from the owner but from a guy subletting the rooms. I called the non-emergency number to see if that was available, and it was. She told me to call back within the hour that we wanted to go get the stuff. We did that and they tell us 2 hours. No problem, they said they would call when they were on their way, and they did. He asked about the situation, I explained "he was holding my son's stuff hostage till he paid this month's rent. The problem is he moved out before the last day of last month but the guy changed the locks and would not let him get his stuff. Now we are 2 weeks in trying to get his stuff. And I know he has guns in the house and threatened me if he was not paid. So we need to make sure that he doesn't pull a gun out for some reason." The cop proceeded to tell me that is a civil problem and that he could not help us. I was just amazed at what he said. I told him I felt threatened and he said It was not his problem and could do nothing. I asked him if he had to wait till someone was shot before he could respond, and that I had better go home and get my gun to take for protection for me and my son. Fort Collins PD is one of the worst Police Departments I've ever had to deal with. Fort Collins is way over policed and their officers hassle residents instead of going after real crimes. I'm sure there's some good cops in larmier county but I have yet to meet one. read more

They just don't think when interacting with people and will stand behind policy to support the lack of professionalism. Fort Collins is not a big city, but it's the biggest city in Larimer County. From this stems a superiority when interacting with folks that makes you feel like they need you to respect their 'authoritay' and you're simply not heard. In asking about traffic noise enforcement, one officer told me Ft Collins doesn't have a policy which isn't correct. Then proceeded to mock a police force in a sister city with all the professionalism of a three yr old. So far more harassment than help. If that ever changes - I will get back in here and revise this review because it feels bad to leave it. It is earned. This police force doesn't instill confidence for me but a fear of what will happen if I actually really need them at some point. Not angry, but honest. read more

I would give the department a lower rating if I could. I called them for an ACTUAL domestic emergency and they did absolutely nothing other than tell me I had to leave, even though there was more than enough reason to intervene. They had no problem writing me a ticket that resulted in a $500 fine for a noise complaint though. The justice system and law enforcement are a money scam and this department exemplifies that. read more
