Having been a less than exemplary young adult (in another century) I have had many unpleasant police-type experiences. I must say, however, that our local P.D. has mitigated my attitude. Not that there are not a (very) few of our officers who have some personal control issues.... but I suppose that comes with the badge. The administrators and the vast majority of the officers are professional, polite, and try to be helpful. I'm glad you're here, guys! Thanks for doing a pretty thankless job, and doing it well.
