It is a 2 story affair with 2 elevators and stairs to the 2nd floor. On the main floor is the City Marshal's office as well as the Civil and Criminal Clerk of Court's offices. I am in this courthouse on a regular basis dealing with mainly criminal defense work. The court rooms are well appointed and even though modern provide the necessary feel of gravitas to let you know you are in fact in a courtroom and not in some sanitized box that could be anything. There are 5 courtrooms in all with the large courtroom (#1) being on the main floor with the other 4 courtrooms and Judge's Chambers being on the second floor. Well maintained and overall nice courthouse.

There is a lot to do other than casinos. The aquarium is so amazing. Reasonably priced and quite informative. Food options galore. There are several museums in the area that I look forward to seeing. Some very good restaurants. I am usually in the area for only a few weeks at a time each year. It is kind of a slow paced life here, but for the most part, all is good. This is one of those towns that I really hate that I like it because it just seems backwards in some ways.

I just gave a bridge a "3" but let me 'splain...see, there's nothing really special or…read morecharacteristic about this bridge unlike the bridges that are built across the mighty Mississippi.... As the name notes this bridge crosses the Red River which separates Caddo Parish from Bossier Parish, Shreveport from Bossier City...while the Red is a great river we all know it ain't no Mississippi, so there most likely wasn't a need for huge cool bridge... This is a utilitarian concrete bridge that takes you across the Red whether you're heading east or west on I 20... Now what's cool about this bridge is crossing it at night when all the Casinos and Riverboats are lit up and downtown Shreveport don't look too bad either.... makes for quite a site especially if you're the passenger in the vehicle crossing the bridge. If you're the driver don't be worrying about the sights and keep your damn eyes on the road cause this is a busy bridge and as on most bridges that are heavily traveled traffic tends to slow... I get a peaceful feeling when I cross it when I head back north, especially at night, cause I know somewhere in those two towns I got some compadres that will be willing to tip a few back and talk a little smack and maybe want to go chase some skirt. It feels like...coming home
