I bought 2 necklaces here, very affordable and good quality for the price. They had quite a good selection of jewellery here, as well as souvenir items and postcards. read more

If you are ever in beautiful sweet Battle, go and check out this little shop. It's on High Street,…read morea few meters from the Abbey. I went past it several times and overlooked it because it seemed too crammed. However, once in I found it quite quirky. Not least because of its charming owner ready to give a helping hand and quite a few curios about Battle and its history. They sell all sorts of accessories, silver jewellery, clothes, decoration, gifts...Hence the name Enigma. I ended up buying a necklace I liked, for the price which was half of what I would have paid for it anywhere else. All in all, a pleasant shopping experience.

There is also a little cafe in the main skating park( AND FREE WIFI), that has little treats and tea. A good spot to bring your children and get some work done. Highly recommend this place. The staff is really nice too! They enjoy their job and this one young man in particular, his name is George, is super helpful and will brighten your day:)

Rarely will you find as many cheap and quirky things as you will in this place. It is crammed with accessories, kitchenalia, glass, decanters, vintage clocks, frames... Battle is a must not only for history geeks, but also for charity shops lovers :)

Personally speaking, I'm not keen on the layout of the shop. It's not very pushchair friendly, with the tiny lifts, stupid couple of steps at the back end, revolving doors at the back The different departments sort of blend into each other too so it's not always easy finding what you're looking for. That said, you can get some good bargains and those hard to find buys (hats for weddings, etc) are usually hiding away somewhere ! There's a cafe and toilets which is handy if you need a break.

As I said before the prices are very affordable but the jewellery is actually really good quality, and really pretty. The handbag is also great, I've received compliments on it and so far it's lasted me almost 2 years. They also sell a few clothing items, and things like hair dye, makeup and colored contact lenses, however I've not bought those from here. Overall it's great, and the staff are very nice.

I've bought my favourite poncho from here (a brown wool job that made me look like a jedi!) and also my favourite necklace (electric blue beads intricately strung together to make an elegant choker).
