We were asked to pay double the standard security deposit, which we complied with in good faith. Despite this, Lisa withheld a substantial portion of our deposit and provided vague charges that appear to cover normal wear and tear, which is not legally deductible under Texas law. We followed up with a formal written dispute and have received no response whatsoever. Due to the lack of communication and what we believe to be unjustified deductions, we are now taking legal action as a matter of principle. Tenants have rights, and landlords should be held accountable to the laws that protect them. I met a great guy, who lived too far out of Austin and convinced him to move to Austin to date me (we're married now so it was worth it his time). I hooked him up with Sondra, and boy, I did not make it an easy sale for her. I think I vetoed somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 houses my at the time boyfriend liked (really, they had awful floor plans) and when we finally found the one, we both just knew. Sondra kicked butt during the sale. She asked for things we didn't think about asking that benefited us, and was firm with the seller. There was a lot of fight to put up to get the house but we didn't feel like we had to do any of it ourselves as Sondra was always on it.
