While I was waiting I went to the bakery area and got a few chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for the hubby. I was seated in about 10 minutes after a few tables and booths were wiped clean. My server was very attentive. I didn't need to wait long for breakfast. While sitting waiting for breakfast. I noticed they have Bingo in the evening every Wednesday. With prizes that must be fun. I need to try and come over here to play. Breakfast arrived along with my orange juice. My mammy was feeling Polly's Pie for lunch/dinner so we decided to eat here. We ordered the loco moco and shrimp Alfredo. The shrimp Alfredo was cooked Al dente using penne pasta. This is a thicker noodle and not fettuccine. It was cooked great and had a nice sauce ratio. The sauce was creamy and not watery. The shrimp was lightly seasoned and cooked well. The toast should've been toasted on both sides but that could be the way they serve it. The loco moco was ok. It was far from a traditional loco moco. It's served with herbed rice, a hamburger patty, brown gravy, and an egg cooked your way. The gravy lacked richness and the onion/ mushroom flavor. The burger was tender and well seasoned. My over medium egg was cooked perfect. Overall, it was a good dish just not traditional loco moco. It came with the choice of cornbread or a muffin. I opted for cornbread. I liked it because it wasn't too sweet but it was a little over cooked. The server was great. He was friendly and tentative. He got our order correct and made sure our drinks started filled. The ambiance is casual. They offer both and table seating. They can also host a pretty large party. Inside has a bakery counter too but pies, bread, and cookies. I was disappointed because the pie special for $8.95 was their malahini pie but you couldn't purchase one because they didn't have any. If a pie is on special they should have them on hand throughout the day and it wasn't even closing. If you like pies, want that semi diner feel, check this place out. read more

We just moved to the area recently and craving for some traditional pies. We ordered King Edward's Club and build your own burger, both were excellent. I had my burger with a fried egg, and it was good. Afterwards (we actually only finished 1/2 of both items to save room for the pie), we enjoyed a slice of Chocolate Silk pie and it was amazing. I've been going to Polly's Pies since the '90s, and it's always been a nostalgic favorite of mine. Breakfast and baked goods are my go-to every time. Their pies are hands down my favorite, especially the seasonal ones (Banberry). Sometimes I'll stop by just to grab a freshly baked cookies, or even a pan of cornbread to go with dinner at home. Polly's Pies is one of those places I go to when I'm craving a homestyle meal. I've been to three of their locations, and this Cerritos branch really stands out for its excellent customer service. Every server has been attentive and friendly. My favorite dishes here are the Meatloaf, Chicken Fried Steak, and Chicken Salad Sandwich. The Meatloaf is melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The Chicken Fried Steak is classic comfort food, and the green beans it's served with are so good. The Chicken Salad Sandwich is a great choice for a refreshing, light lunch. On my last visit, I redeemed my birthday reward for a free sandwich or burger and a pie. I chose the King Edward's Club Sandwich on walnut raisin bread with fries. I had never tried this sandwich before and was so surprised at how good it was. The avocado was so fresh, and the bacon was plentiful and perfectly crispy. The fries were hot and crispy, though a bit bland, so I added some salt. I was so full from my sandwich that I only managed to eat about a third of the fries. My boyfriend ordered the Polly's Cheeseburger and enjoyed it too. It came with a huge, juicy patty. For my free pie, I got the Coconut Cream Pie, which was very creamy and loaded with coconut pieces. The birthday reward also includes a free pie with each additional entrée, so my boyfriend got one too and he chose the No Sugar Added Banana Cream Pie, sweetened with Splenda. Polly's is easily one of my favorite breakfast spots for so many reasons. I usually order the 2-3-1 breakfast combo with a sweet tea, and I have to finish with a slice of their banberry pie, it's seriously so good. If you go before 11:30 a.m. on weekdays, you can get this as part of their Early Riser deal, which is such a steal. My food always comes out hot, the eggs are cooked exactly how I like them, and the toast is perfectly buttered, just the right amount, every time. You can tell they're consistent, which I really appreciate. They also host bingo nights every Wednesday, and it's such a fun vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and looking for something to do. They run drink specials that night too, I got a glass of wine for $5, which was an awesome bonus. Service is always quick, and the staff are genuinely so friendly. The restaurant is super clean, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Been coming here for many years and love coming here still. The food is pretty much the same that you expect from a family diner, and their weekend prime rib dinner is good (not the greatest), but the staff that works here are the best. Polly's Pies was the gold standard back in the day, but today it's just basic. How does a bakery not know how to make authentic biscuits and gravy? I LOVE Polly's Pies Restaurant!!! I ate there often when I worked in Fullerton. We had tickets to a show at the Cerritos Center. We were checking online for a nearby restaurant. My bf mentioned Polly's Pies. I said, "YES!" He is from Texas and had never been to one. It was a little busy when we arrived. We still got our dinners in time to get to the show on time. I had the turkey dinner with corn bread. It came with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. I liked it a lot. I think Polly's has the best green beans I've ever had. They were good 20 years ago and are still delicious. I didn't think to take a photo until I had eaten half. My bf had a tuna salad sandwich on, given a choice of several breads, sourdough and a bowl of tomato soup. He said, "everything was wonderful with attention to detail like homemade". We split a piece of custard pie. It came with nutmeg and fresh whipped cream. Not a crumb left on that plate. It was comfortable and quiet inside. The manager greeted us and seated us right away. I honestly haven't heard much about Polly's, but I was craving a pie and it had pie in its name, so my expectations going in were high. They had a large variety of different pies to choose from and they all looked delicious in the glass case display in the front. We ended up ordering a slice of the lemon meringue pie to go and this was such a delicious pie! If you're a fan of lemon meringue, I think you'd enjoy this one! The size of the slice was also pretty generous so it was the perfect size of split between 2 people. I can't speak much in terms of service here because we ordered take out, but the person helping us was friendly and we pretty much got our pie immediately after ordering it. The store itself gives me diner vibes and it is located in a large plaza with plenty of parking. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Banberry Pie here. The Pumpkin Praline Cheesecake was also solid but the Banberry blows any pie out of the water. He took our order and it came out perfectly and quick. He was very pleasant. We were able to chat without being bothered or rushed. We were there about 35min. My mom had the weekday breakfast special with the French toast, bacon and instead of eggs she was able to sub hash browns. It also came with her coffee. I ordered a side of fresh baked sourdough toast. Our total bill was $15.46, the special was $11.49. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I thought they had various cream cheese pies but the closest thing they have is the "Sunnylicious" pie, which is a lemon gel covered cheesecake. I bought one to take home. Unfortunately this location suffers from a lack of customer service. We waited for the hostess for about 10 minutes to be seated, I only imagine the man before us had been waiting longer. When the hostess finally sat us down, we again waited for about 20 minutes. It would have been nice if the waiting staff approached us or made eye contact to let us know that we would be served soon. We ended up leaving and nobody asked if we were okay or acknowledged us as we walked out. There were at least three staff members servicing tables but none of them made a point to see that we needed service. It's unfortunate and sadly we won't be returning. read more

All of the employees here are top notch. I came here with a group of 20 special education high school students who were learning to order and pay independently as part of a life skills program. Lisa was so so patient with all of our students and even allowed them to each have individual checks. Something that is a huge deal at a busy restaurant, but meant so much to our students as a learning experience. Ray the manager was awesome and so accommodating to our large party. The food here was delicious (especially the FRESH out of the oven baked goods) and the lunch specials were a great deal. I will definitely return here again after a great experience. read more
