Well, this is probably the cheapest meal I have ever bought in my life - $3.50 for three choices filling up a polystrene container x 2.
We tried:
Lamb with green string bean dish, a bit of chilly, spices and a whole lot of oil.
The chicken curry, small chicken pieces were on the bone so we had to be careful, but it was ok overall.
Lamb Bok Choy, heavy in salt, a few spices and oil.
and Fried rice (no meat), salty, oily but ok.
Yes, this food was not good for the heart or the waistline but it was CHEAP, which is probably why people are seen in here regularly when I go past. The woman behind the counter was really friendly, and guessed that I was an 'out of towner' (although I assured her I am a local now), it was probably by my many questions regarding the food, not so much my accent. I wanted to know what the food actually was (no pork diet for us, or msg if we can help it). There were no signs about the food, just how much and what size you could take home, it took her a while to understand. The food did look like it had been sitting there all day but I really wanted to give it a go, and am pretty adventurous with food. Now, honestly we didn't quite finish our meal, the oil and salt just got a bit much, but for such a small price that is ok. This place really should have 2 1/2 stars I guess, but up there as a three for price, friendly service and once again price, price, price. read more
