Wanderlust happens once a year in the Spring on the island of 'Oahu and it's a modern day yogi's…read moredream! Three days and nights of yoga, meditation, talk story, food and music, all on the grounds of the Turtle Bay Resort! Although there are multiple Wanderlust festival events that happen, this has go to be the best one because of this beautiful property on the North Shore. I went a few years ago with my bestie Meg and we had the best time! We enjoyed a talk story class that focused on intention, took an aerial yoga class outdoors, did acro-yoga with strangers, meditated in a tent out by the ocean and got our hair braided at an Aveda braid bar. There really is something for everyone and it's fun to be surrounded by people who are just as passionate about yoga as you! I found the instructors to be knowledgeable and it was fun to venture out and experience new modalities of yoga. In addition to a large variety of classes, they also have a large outdoor marketplace with a variety of food, drink and retail vendors. You can buy a 1, 2 or 3 day pass, and also add on extra events such as farm-to-table meals, live music, stand-up paddle yoga and more! The festival can definitely add up, so you don't have the funds to buy a ticket, you can also volunteer at the festival and get a free pass. Be forewarned that by the second day of Wanderlust, my body was really tired and sore as I usually don't do two plus classes a day. Also, many of the classes are outdoors so you'll really want to make sure you schedule your classes correctly so you don't end up with a crazy sunburn. Looking forward to my next Wanderlust experience and can't wait to yoga my brains out!

Admission can be pricey, but it gives you access to some of the coolest and hottest yoga classes, instructors, etc. The non yoga sessions can sometimes cost more, so take that into account. Sign up online for sessions. The place is filled with awesome and friendly people who are there to experience yoga, as well as vendors, volunteers, and non-profits that are environmentally minded. My sister in law is a huge yogi, and she flew in from Canada just for this event. I was here because I got to volunteer with Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, who are here giving info on marine debris. Everything is absolutely awesome, and I highly recommend coming out if you get a chance!!

I actually saw rainbows during the 2nd session because it rained lightly. Kaori is great at what she does, very personable & friendly, and has a lot of regulars. Very responsive with email as I contacted her weeks before my trip. DEF worth checking out. I hope to come back again if I am ever in Hawaii!

Every Friday night feels like a sacred reset--and I truly wouldn't want to spend my evening anywhere else. Kaori's full moon sound baths with Reiki are especially powerful. The way she plays the crystal bowls and other instruments allows the sounds to radiate through my entire body. I can physically and emotionally feel the energy that no longer serves me melt away. Her peaceful presence and gentle spirit create a deeply safe and calming space where I can simply be--fully present, fully held, fully grounded. Laying under the stars on the beach, listening to the healing vibrations, has been life-giving. And the fact that Friday night sound baths are donation-based speaks volumes about the kind of heart-centered human Kaori is. She creates community with so much care and intention. I love, love, love Sound Healing Hawaii. It's an experience I would recommend to anyone needing restoration, clarity, or just a beautiful place to reconnect with themselves and the universe.
