The Cafe de Commerce is in the lovely square of the medieval village of Lauzerte in Tarn & Garonne,…read moresouth west France. Unfortunately it is only open in the summer as the current owner isn't too bothered about running a bar. Having said that, he is friendly, speaks excellent English and loves the area, its language (Occitan, tho not much spoken now) and traditions. There is no food but a good selection of interesting beers and wine at reasonable prices. The decor isn't up to much but in good weather you can sit outside in the sun and enjoy looking at the arcaded square and the people passing by. Saturday morning is market day.

The food was (with lack of a better word) perfect and the view and the site are both to die for. If you love good food, a lovely personal experience and dining surrounded in nature - go here. The small set up and the personal contact with the chef makes a great lunch/diner even better! I will definitely go out of my way to go here again. Made reservations for the rest of the remaining week - and my birthday! My absolute favorite. Compliments to the chef - please give him my thanks!
