We enjoyed it so much, we eat there for two breakfasts. On the first day, my daughter ordered a breakfast sandwich. It was filled with bacon, egg and sausage. While she has a healthy appetite, she did her best to eat as much as she could, but there were plenty left on the plate. My husband ordered porridge with fresh berries. It also comes with nuts and honey on the side. He declared it the best porridge he's ever had and wouldn't share one bite. I ordered the avocado toast, which had an egg on top. It was very filling and my daughter enjoyed stealing bites. On the side of the table, they have a chutney, which was delicious with the avocado toast. The service was good, not super friendly, but fine. On our second day, my daughter ordered their granola, which has a rhubarb jam and honey on the side. My husband and I both ordered their porridge with fresh berries on the side. I wanted to have some of the best porridge he's ever had. My daughter didn't like her rhubarb jam so we traded and she had my side of berries, which she enjoyed greatly with her granola. It was a large bowl, but she did fine finishing up most of it and passing the rest to my husband. While for me, it wasn't the best porridge I've ever had, it was good. The honey was a welcome addition and normally I don't like things too sweet, The Orange Goat is a lovely spot for breakfast, coffee/tea and their lunch menu looks delicious as well. When we return to Dublin, we will surely stop in again and enjoy their breakfasts!

As it was early in the morning I went for the eggs florentine and wasn't disappointed. It was delicious! The coffee was good too. When leaving I ordered a chai latte to go and I have to admit it was the worst chai latte I've ever had so I wouldn't recommend that one ;) The rest is great. The place was hopping when I was leaving which I usually look at as a great thing! Definitely worth a go again I'd say!

Parking in Donnybrook is a bitch... and that's being nice about it!…read more However, there are many really good reasons why you would put the time and effort into finding a spot to rest your wheels - noteworthy among them is the Greenery. We piled in, all 16 of us for an office lunch last week, the place was busy with a good atmosphere and despite the fact that nearly all the tables were full, our meals came out quickly and correct for all. It's nice when that happens, you aren't worrying about clock-watching and only having so much time before you have to be back in the office. I had the burger as the pulled pork had sold out (gutting); the burger, as with all the mains dishes, was HUGE. I'm a big guy, I like food, I will always clear my plate (because otherwise mommy would be mad... who me? issues?....not at all). I struggled here, I only just finished the mountainous meal served with the slightly too greasy fries... but finish I did.... because I'm a good little boy. Overall it was tasty, not so much so that I'll rant and rave and promise to be back next week... but good enough and I certainly won't object to going back! Oh, I got to try a couple of the wings as well - they were VERY good!

With this in mind I set out in 2015 to find Brendans Cafe for a full Irish Breakfast. On Brendans journey he is said to have encountered a sea monster....on my journey a man in a sleeveless jacket menacingly drove a forklift truck along the path in front of us like something from Mad max. The voyage ended in the sitting down in this unassuming haunt for a very enjoyable breakfast set in the heartland of old school Dublin. They actually serve Brennans batch bread with the breakfast aswell as a shot of Orange juice to wet the whistle and a mug of tea/coffee. Places like Brendans Cafe are great, it will never try to be anything that it is'nt and it will never need to either. It is more than enough, the large breakfast at €8.50 is a real charming plate of food and I have to say that its refreshing to visit the kind of Cafe that has been doing the same thing right for quite a long time and hopefully will continue to fry up a storm for many years to come. Brendan even said "Well done" when I paid. There was something nice about the whole experience and I will be making a voyage here again in the near future no doubt.

It is a great place - hasn't changed in maybe 30 years with a feel that it could be back in the mid seventies! 100% authentic, it serves a voluminous breakfast which is very tasty and cooked freshly for you .... though if you like toast with no butter - better to warn the staff beforehand :) A place I regularly bring visitors for something real - it never fails to make a positive impression!
