This place knows how to BAKE THAT BREAD! We only get to visit this area once every few years but one thing we will NOT miss while we are in town is that POPS fresh baked bread. Honestly, it's so soft and pillowy and somehow just a tiny bit sweet. Some butter on it - just Heaven. We tried the Friday fish fry today for funsies and it was ok...not at the level of the bread and I think could easily made better. The fries were hot and crispy, the coleslaw delish but the fish itself was a little soft. Maybe a double fry or a bit longer and they'd be money. We didn't order ahead so we waited for like 15 min but our fish fry was hot and fresh. Cash only - they have an atm on site. Their pillow cookies (esp the jam filled ones) are a must. We just had our first trip to Pop's, but I didn't love it. The sub sandwich seemingly weighed 7 pounds, but the roll had the texture of play doh. The straciatella soup was supposed to be a tomato based Italian wedding soup, but it was so spicy I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. The ham and cabbage soup was so salty I spit my first bite out and didn't continue. The focaccia loaf didn't have much flavor and seemed stale. The tiramisu was delicious, but it turns out it's frozen from a box so not made in house. Same with the $7 slice of pistachio ricotta cake. Do the math on that one and that's an $84 frozen cake. I'm sure not in a hurry to go back. I had high hopes. read more

I would like to say there is hardly any food options in honeoye. So my family and I have been trying what's around. I will go on to say the bakery part is pretty awesome! The food, however unsure.. we've ordered from here a few times now and the food is just not good. My husband ordered the garbage plate, he said was good aside from the huge chunks of carrots and celery in it. Wish I got a picture but forgot. We have ordered a few different dishes with chicken in it and seems to always be dry and hard with no flavor. Almost taste like frozen or made hours in advance. And pink?! The Alfredo portion was big but had no flavor, dry, almost tasted like jar Alfredo would not order again... I can make better at home lol quite unfortunate read more

I've been in a handful of times and have yet to be disappointed. The cinnamon rolls are outstanding, fresh baked cookies and delicious, and the subs are jam packed with meat. The sub rolls may be a little big, but you need it to bring the sandwich together. All in all the food and service has been great! read more

A Great addition to the town since options are limited there. While we have had the bread and cannolis (fantastic BTW) until recently we had not tried a dinner there. We ordered chicken parm and chicken french. They were huge portions, great deal for $13 each and came with a small salad and their homemade bread. They have a nice selection of breads, cookies and sweets and I have also purchased some delicious homemade croutons there. Important to note, they are cash only! read more

Not sure what's happening there, but the food quality has gone way down hill. We went there many times the first year or so they opened. Each time was excellent. However, Recently we had the single worst sandwich special ever and almost took it back (very unlike me). Soggy, wet, and was thrown out. The time previous, we ordered a fish fry which was packaged in a styrofoam container. The condensation made it so soggy that we ate a little and threw the rest out. We now only stop there for bread, not meals. The service is friendly and the bread is better than the tiny grocery store in town. I hope the quality of the food goes up since there are no other real food options during the day. read more

We bought two subs yesterday. First subs we've had since before the pandemic started. We were so disappointed. They were flavorless.....roast beef I could not eat because it was so grizzly. Sub rolls were too heavy and no flavor at all. Too much oil added that appeared to be just plain oil that just made it oily...Overall it was a blahs tasting sub that I'm feeding to the chickens, dogs and crows! read more

For the past two weeks I had heard about and seen rave reviews about Pop's B&D. I finally remembered to stop by to check it out. I was impressed with the assortment of Italian breads, deli selections, and all the goodies! A friend had specifically recommended the pizza bread, the blueberry pie and cinnamon rolls. So I went in a bought the recommended items. The pizza bread was great! I haven't had that in years! The cinnamon rolls were also very good, and I'm still...enjoying the pie! I love that they use the smaller wild blueberries! And a nice balance of the blueberries' natural flavor without oversweetening. I will continue to enjoy the pie! :) Pop's is off to a great start! read more

So it's Saturday afternoon and I heard this place had good food so I placed an order to go and I was told told 20 minutes. After 30 or 35 minutes I inquired as to what was going on... they kept telling me it'll be a minute it'll be a minute. After getting quite pushy my food came out... 52 minutes total time. a little bit crazy for lunch time. It's a shame I haven't even tried the food yet, but I will not come back whether it's good or not. Service was a DISASTER!!! P. S. When I went to pay she said cash only. Good thing I had some. This is a hometown bakery and deli with authentic Italian sweets, breads, and dishes. I had the steak sub, my daughter had the chicken parm sub, and my gf had a chicken Caesar salad. Everything was really good and very fresh. We finished with a chocolate croissant pretzel, some mini cream puffs, and a chocolate cheesecake brownie. Again, all of them winners. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and are happy to chat with the customers. I had the chicken parm and the chicken marsala...they were decent but very under-flavored, the sauces need a "kick" big time. Chicken in both cases was cooked perfectly...its just the sauces that need a fine tuning. Also, I had the sausage sub and that was very good!! read more

Dennis March 26th I purchased 2 fish fry dinners and they were excellent , hot crisp fish and fries, moist fish ,thin crisp batter coating and very clean tasting. This week, April 2nd, I purchased 3 fish fry dinners, same time of day (4pm) as the previous week. This week one was excellent fish and fries. The other two, one was over cooked and dark, tasted burnt, one was doughy and the breading was much thicker than last week. We could not eat the breading on this one, it was soggy and oily! We were disappointed this week, 2 of 3 were poor! We did call and convey the dinner results. read more

I've stopped in a few times for lunch, and their sandwiches were very good. I was disappointed that on a Saturday, when they open at 11 AM, that there was no fresh bread. I was told that it wouldn't be ready until noon. Also, the desserts and pastries were not fresh, but at least a day old. I'm sorry but if you open at a certain time, be ready to go at that time. I went to another local shop and they had a freshly baked baguette bread ready for me in 7 minutes, and fresh canollies also. I'd love to see Pop's succeed, but you gotta' be ready when your customers are. read more

The cannoli was all premade and the shells and filling were obviously bought at a restaurant supply. Then they were filled so early both were soggy at the bottom. They had the audacity to state it was home made. Won't be buying it again. I can get a better product frozen. read more

This place is so good that my family and I visited three times in one week. Highly recommend the cannoli's and strawberry rhubarb pie. We also grabbed some burger buns one night which were fantastic. We can't wait to go back and try their sandwiches. Highly recommend! read more
