This place delivered on the whole Old-Fashioned-Mom-and-Pop-Ice-Cream-Parlor vibe. Inside they've got a great selection of Blue Bell Ice cream and cones/cups. They do shakes, too. If ice cream isn't your thing they have cookies, cupcakes, fudge and candy. It looks like they also offer a lunch menu, if you're looking for a sandwich or some soup. I love how light and bright the inside of the place is. Just past the main room with booth seating is another room with tables and chairs, and a selection of board games. My kids and I played Candy Land while they ate their ice cream. I got a piece of fudge and it was quite delightful. All in all, it this place weren't so far away for us we'd be here a lot! Glad we got the opportunity to stop in while we were down this way.

I had planned to stop at Dairy Queen on my way home from running some errands, but decided to support a small local place instead. I honestly wish I had gone to DQ. I would have gotten more for my money there, plus much better tasting ice cream. This was mediocre at best. And such a tiny amount for the price. The staff was nice enough, but I wouldn't call them friendly. I expected more from a place that seems to have a lot of young kids come in with their parents. The shop was pretty cute, but nothing spectacular. I may give it another try sometime for the fridge or cannoli, but I'll stick to other places for ice cream.

A neighborhood sweet shop serving Blue Bell ice cream!

This truck specializes in one thing and they do that one thing very, very well. Sno-Balls!!…read more I've only been able to track them down twice and I'm debating whether or not to share the location because I kind of want the Sno-Balls all to myself... The first time I had the Peach Cobbler Sno-Ball and it was literally the best shaved ice I had ever had! (and I'm a huge shaved ice connoisseur). The 2nd time I had the Orange Dreamsicle Sno-Ball and it was equally as delicious. When I order at the window, I always ramble and mush and shower them with compliments because the owner is just so sweet. He always has me try my Sno-Ball in front of him to ensure that I love it. Please, please, please get a Twitter or Facebook profile so I can visit you more often and not just the occasional times you've shown up at First Fridays.

Heck! Yeah! So I'm…read morewalking home from the bars yesterday, and notice that the typical food trucks on Main street are not there, and there's something random in it's place... A New Orleans Style Sno-Ball truck! On a hot day like this, that's PERFECT! So, they do one thing. But they do it WELL. The shaved ice is so soft and easy to eat with a spoon. The flavors are delicious, and they put enough in so that the entire cup (which is huge btw) tastes great. We went with two of the specialty flavors: Grandma's Custard and Peach Cobbler. Both were killer, but Peach Cobbler is the winner in my book. It was sprinkled with cinnamon, which I think is a great touch. Another great touch? The low price! I can't recall how much it was, but certainly affordable. The guy was nice, which is always a bonus. He said that he is usually set up at First Fridays and then in the Bottoms for First Weekends. So far no web presence, Twitter, or Facebook, so hunting the guy down seems to be a challenge. But if you see this truck, I implore you to go treat yourself to a Sno-Ball!
