Food was dry the customer service was average could've better if they tried and i won't be coming back

Wow man. I ordered here a couple months ago and it was bad. They shorted me two of the five pieces of chicken I ordered, the cole slaw was slimy and rotten, and the rice and beans was sour(spoiled). I went back tonight giving it a second chance. Plus I only wanted chicken strips and was going to check them before I left the window. I was there thirty minutes before they closed and was told I could not order- they are only taking mobile orders. Wtf. The owner needs to fire them all and start with new staff who give a flip about your business!! Do not go here!! read more

I came here to grab some lunch for my employees. I was the delivery guy. They have meals and they have sandwiches plus all of the sides they offer. I wouldn't call it my favorite but the food is good and it always comes out hot. When I picked up the order, the staff was nice and helpful and acted like they wanted to be there. We have always enjoyed Popeyes, especially the red rice and beans, our community does not have a Popeyes. So whenever we are in the Phoenix area we try by to pick some up. The other day, after some very disturbing medical news, I thought that maybe at treat of Popeyes would benefit the wife. We ordered our usual 8 piece classic with red beans and rice. The nice young lady at the window verified our order and we were on our way for the 54 minute drive back to Maricopa with the soothing aroma of fried chicken and biscuits wafting from the bag. Imagine our disappointment when we discovered the bag contained nothing that we ordered! Spicy Chicken, ( the wife can not tolerate any spicy foods) and mashed potatoes and gravy. None of our favorite side of red beans and rice to be found. $30.00 wasted! We stopped there tonight, ordered 2 dinners. One was nones spicy chicken tenders, the other was a 3 piece Spicy dinner. The order was swapped. The tenders were so spicy, they were tossed out. Decided to order online the flounder sandwich while it was still available. When we got there the food was ready which was actually why they got 1 star. The flounder sandwich initially looked smashed but when you bit into it, realized that was actually so dry that it shrunk. The fish inside was almost like eating dehydrated fish, the meat was stringy. As a result the crispy outside was really chewy and there were some parts that I just didn't finish because it truly wasn't edible. So disappointed, I haven't been to this location in a really long time because of how bad the service was, guess I'll have to continue to skip them. read more

Well , I was supposed to start eating healthier! But I haven't had Popeye's in a long time. I ordered a 3 pc. combo which included a wing, thigh, drum stick, one side, small drink and biscuit. I chose mashed potatoes for my side. I also ordered my chicken spicy. The first thing I noticed when my order was presented to me was the size of the chicken. They were on the smaller side. I took my first bite and the first thing I noticed was the Popeye's seasonings weren't there. It wasn't even spicy. It was a good tasting chicken and juicy, but it wasn't Popeye's standard chicken. Were the proper seasonings used? Were the chicken marinated for 12 hours as advertised? All three pieces were the same. I tried the mashed potatoes and the gravy used was not even close to the Popeye's gravy I'm used to. It tasted like the old Kentucky Fried Chicken gravy! I didn't bother trying the biscuit. If this fried chicken establishment was by another name, it would be considered good. But this is Popeye's and you're held by their standards and recipes! We got four orders of 6 piece wings with 4 different flavors for a small get-together with family. As you can see from the pictures, there was hardly any sauce on the wings and thus, no flavor. One was supposed to be a roasted garlic parmesan that literally had no flavor cuz it was just the breaded chicken and no sauce or anything at all. Most of the wings were dried out and over cooked. Some of the pieces were smaller than my pinky finger. We didn't have time to go back to Popeyes since guests arrived. Even if we had time, I'm not sure I'd want anything they make. How does this location stay in business? Ordered two blackened chicken sandwiches and a side of mac and cheese in the drive thru. They told us to pull forward because they had to make them fresh. After 15 minutes of sitting in front of the store we went inside. It took over 35 minutes for the chicken sandwiches to come out. When they came out, both sandwiches were different colors and looked very inedible. The mac and cheese was very old and gummy. We tried to return them and no one knew how to do a refund. One worker called the manager who then said they don't do refunds. They ended up giving us a 10 piece instead. Which was even worse. You could tell they refried the chicken that was sitting under the heat lamp for quite sometime. We'll never come back. Never! read more

Our first ever visit to Popeyes was unfortunately not a good one. Our son had been asking to go and try it so we took our family of five. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we placed an order for a large family bundle to sit inside of the restaurant and eat. After completing our order and paying, we proceeded to try and get drinks just to find out that the water and soda machines were not working. We wish someone would've notified us of the problem when ordering our large family bundle and dining in, but unfortunately, that did not happen. To make matters worse, we tried to use the restroom to wash our hands before eating just to find out that there was no water pressure and water did not come out of the sink faucets whatsoever (so we were just left with soap in our hands - not much though, because the soap dispenser was practically empty). We were shocked and appalled to find out that the restaurant did not temporarily shut down or put a sign on our door. Customers and more importantly, employees, had no way to use the restroom and wash their hands properly - yet the restaurant stayed open. Upon asking about the drink situation, all we were told at first was that they could refund the money based on the drink portion since they weren't working, but nothing else was offered. Two of our children did not like the chicken because they said there was far too much breading and it was too hard/difficult for them to chew. Our youngest child still prefers for his chicken tenders to be cut up yet the restaurant did not have any knives whatsoever. The only thing that was offered was a spork which definitely did not work with how hard the breading was. Since it was our first time, we aren't sure if the chicken had been just sitting out for a long time which was why it was so hard or if that is usually how it is. Definitely not our best first visit/experience at a restaurant. read more

We ordered 6 boneless wings with barbecue on the side and ended up getting 6 bone in wings with just a messy, disgusting side of BBQ smeared all over the bottom of the container. Secondly, we ordered the 5 piece blackened tenders and ended up getting the 3 piece. While I don't mind mistakes and understand that things happen, our tenders were cold, skinny, and just absolutely burnt to crisp. We went back to complain about our order and they tried making it up to us by giving what we originally ordered but then making us wait an extra 20 mins. This made my stomach so upset. Sometimes you never know what you're going to get. After coming back from vacation, all everyone was craving was Popeyes chicken. I showed up and quickly noticed no drive-thru line. Decided to walk up to the entrance with another person who wondered the same thing and we saw a handwritten sign saying they had to close early. Don't eat a lot fried food but I was happy to break the rule for Popeyes Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Classic chicken sandwich, Red Beans and Rice & mashed potatoes- everything was delicious!! Chicken was mediocre, and seemed as though it had been sitting out a while and we waited quite a while for fresh shrimp, which was hot when it came out. French fries were cold. Customer service was good. They had a maintenance man that was there fixing a few things, and it kind of grossed me out that he was standing on the serving area where they get the biscuits or apple pies. It appeared as he was fixing some thing above that area on the ceiling and the young lady was pulling food from that area as he was standing on it very gross. It looked like two higher-ups were sitting in the restaurant sitting on either side having a meeting, although they were in the same meeting, it appeared that it was conducted with multiple people over zoom and the conversation was kind of loud about the complaints received in the store. That didn't seem very professional either. This location seems to always have new people and it is hit or miss. read more

i don't think i've ever had a "good" meal at this popeye's location. whenever i come here during my lunch break, the food is always decent to bad. i came for a chicken wrap today and while the wrap tasted fine overall, the chicken wasn't tender at all. lots of crispy breading but the meat itself was chewy and hard to bite through. the lettuce inside the wrap was brown as well. if you want a good chicken wrap, or just good popeyes food in general, go to the location on 48th and chandler about 10 minutes away. read more
