My kid has been coming here for a few weeks and he's having a blast in the hip hop class. The class is great for his age, 5.5 and the instructor Chris is A+. We had a few substitute teachers and all were wonderful except for one. We had an issue where one of the other students was causing trouble, but the sub didn't care. I didn't mind too much since I knew it was just a one off class that day. For the young class, they do some warm ups, learn some moves and have fun at the end. This is a great intro to performance and all the kids seem to enjoy it. read more

I came in for a free trial to see if it was the right fit for my son ( definitely wasn't the right fit) all they did was stretch and play hide n seek. (They definitely did play hide and seek I stayed the whole time and watched so don't say I'm making accusations. ) Thank you. I then let them know that I will think about it. I then was harassed and kept getting phone calls DAILY. and voicemails about that class. If someone doesn't answer the phone 2 days in a row stop calling. I'm having a wonderful time studying under Paul's acting course! I've been involved in the acting industry casually for the past 2 years and I've taken some courses here and there w/ other schools but Paul's approach to teaching has been very helpful and I've since learned a lot from his experiences. Victor has also helped sub for Paul's class and he's also been a delight. He also has a lot of working experience and has helped answer a lot of my questions for me. Paul is very patient with his students and offers a lot of insight because he is also a working actor. The front desk staff are also incredibly awesome! They're very polite and without fail always say hi to me as I walk through the door. There aren't a lot of acting courses in the area and so if you're interested in acting this spot is definitely a spot you'll want to check out at least once! Update: it's a fact that the film recital that only has the teacher and my child in it does not even show my child's name in the credits. The final video you can even see the cable wires in it on the floor through the green screen overlay. Snacks and water were provided but there were no seats for parents to sit outside to wait everyone had to wait in the car in LA Summer for their turn and show up dressed already. I saw a parent with a child in a hot bear costume come in multiple times to ask how much later was the production running. Eventually her child just took off the costume in the car because it was too hot and put it on again later. The facility is convenient with a parking lot in the back and a nice facility. The ballet and hip hop teachers are good. However, we left the school in June 2023 after some poor business practices. The little kid ballet recital was not on stage and was instead done at a film studio as it was being made into a short film clip. The school was being disrespectful at the "recital" filming by not letting any parents see or hear their own children behind closed doors in a mostly all male film crew studio and making the parents wait outside in the heat and even children in full bear costumes outside for 30 min in the heat waiting because they were behind schedule. We were very frustrated that they did not allow any parents inside the studio or backstage no matter how hard I tried. It made me so anxious that my young child was behind closed doors by herself for an hour with some production crew that I've never met or seen before. Even real movie sets by law require that the parent is "within sight and sound" of the child. The school even threatened in an email that if any parent were to try to go on set they would be banned from future productions. They stated in their email that very young kids could have 1 parent since there was not that much room but when we were there, the staff at the front just would not allow it. She said the Director is there so it will be ok. The director is also a male adult that I don't know and besides seeing him run around his school has never spoken or introduced himself to me. The teacher came later which is why we felt slightly more comfortable for allowing her in but still it's not ok to be in a film studio without a parent. My child has a talent agency and that is a specific rule they make sure parents know about commercial acting sites. I sent them an email stating that this was not ok and after 1 week I did not receive any email response. My only response was an email confirmation that they charged my card for the next months classes. When we showed up to the next class, still no one came to talk to us about this issue. The front desk said that the director was wondering if we wanted to do an in person recital. I emailed the director that we decided not to do it. He replied to THAT email and said that it was fine basically. Since we never got a response back in email or in person we withdrew from the school and made sure to time it correctly because otherwise you can't get a refund. They will give you class credits instead. They had poor customer service, lack of respect for parents who are paying to be in their school. Their "recitals" are MANDATORY and you have to pay to be in them and you have to pay for the costumes they request and they don't have trial classes , you have to pay an entire month up front, during class you aren't allowed to sit and watch, you can't take photo or video of the class, even the "recital", if you try to go inside the film studio to see your child you "will be banned from future productions" is what they wrote. Too many rules. My child also tried piano class there and the first lesson, the teacher was out sick so the receptionist/teacher subbed. He kept running downstairs during class to answer the phone during the class and he didn't turn on the lights in the room. He was a good teacher but it was just not an ideal environment so we chose a different music school. There was someone named Sandy that worked there when we first started ballet here and she made the place amazing but then after she left things just got not so great. read more

We came in with Keller William Executive team of 25 agents. I've never done improv or acting so was nervous and not sure what to expect. Just wanted to hang out and step outside my comfort zone. This is a well run establishment with good instructors. My 4 yr old daughter enjoys her Disney Class where she gets to sing and dance. The instructors are able to keep the kids engaged and able to get them to participate. I've been to other schools where kids will shy away because it's intimidating. I think keeping the age groups narrow to 3&4 year olds helps a lot. Sergio and Alex at the front desk are top notch in their knowledge and customer service. I hear their Hip Hop dance teams are solid and put on great performances. read more

I will not return to this place and I'm not impressed with their dance lessons. My payment was for the month of July. My daughter only attended 2 classes in July, and I had two paid classes left. Last month I received a call from them . I told the lady that I'm not returning, she said she will send me withdraw form to my email. Guess what I never received the email . Yesterday (Sunday 9-23-18), I got another call from them that I owe them $140. Again I told her the same thing we're no longer going there and we still have not received the withdraw form to my email. I would not recommend this place for few reasons : They are expensive It feels like I'm walking into a law firm . They have all these forms to fill out and sign , even though you signed them they want you to sign again and again ...it's pretty annoying ! They only contact you right away when you register or when they have billing inquiries . They will not reply e-mail if you are canceling lessons . You have to call them even though they have received e-mail . This is a tiny dance studio with too many rules and regulations . Come on ... I was at this place to have fun , I end up more aggravated than anything else . Sucks !!! read more

The studio space is very small and not conducive for classes. I was not impressed with the class (my girl was enrolled in the Disney song class.) They literally cracked open a laptop and showed Youtube videos of the songs and the kids sang along. I have it 2 months worth of classes and then cancelled. So happy to see the opening of this studio! I have been taking piano lessons with Paul on and off for about 2+ years now. He really has a creative way of teaching. As an adult student (he also teaches a lot of kids), Paul has gave me enough freedom to focus on what I want to learn most. I am still learning a lot of the basic stuff but at least I didn't have to force myself to memorize all the scales and music theories, which I was struggling with all the time. A lot of times he would translate those complicated notes into something I can understand better, and I found that extremely valuable. Paul is truly talented as a musician. And more importantly, an awesome teacher! He is highly knowledgeable in both music and acting. I was inspired by him in a lot of ways, and am just glad to regain my passion for piano after all these years. He has always encouraged students to find their own voice in music. To me, PopRock is not just another music school, I see this as a place where you come and continue to learn as you developed yourself as a musician/artist/actor along the way. Paul is also specialized in voice and improvisation classes if you are looking for something more than just instrumental. I also had a great experience with another teacher Brian. I would not take my kids here ever again. Enrolled my 3 year old in the Disney dance musical classes and I think the classes were too advanced. Who teaches them the jungle book bare necessities, I mean they are 3, do something easier. And half the time was distracting them with stickers. I paid for dance classes not amusement or something they can do at home or at school. I also tried the hip hop class and same thing, they distracted with stickers too but at least the kids were able to hop around, but still think it was too advanced. In the end, I asked for a refund, they also gave me problems with refunding my money, but the transaction when through finally. Im definitely looking for a another dance studio that's more kid friendly. It's just too bad cuz this place was so close to home. read more

My 8-year old girl loves to dance. I took her to this school had been 3 months. She doesn't like the instructor Johnson Hsu. She said this instructor likes to touch her body sometimes. I was very upset and paid all fees. NOT recommend this school and this instructor should leave this kid's school. read more
