This was my husbands and my first time trying this type of food and we were blown away at the variety and flavors. The place was packed on a Sunday* morning and we ended up having to sit outside. The wait staff were so nice and attentive. We ordered a Branzino, a TLV single breakfast with over easy eggs and an iced coffee and orange juice. Without exaggerating, every single thing I ate tasted good. I love being able to mix and match flavors, and that's exactly what the TLV breakfast allows for. The orange juice tasted freshly squeezed and the iced coffee tasted like it came out of a coffee shop. I will definitely be back! A note is that it was a little unsettling being the only Asian couple in the entire packed restaurant but I think it just the demographics of the area. *changed from Saturday to Sunday! read more

I have been wanting to try this place since it had switched over to the fish grill, which has been a while. I finally had the chance today. This is a fish lovers place with a Mediterranean twist. I loved it all! Firstly comes the gratis homemade pita bread, small sides of pickles, baba ganoush, quinoa and more - see the pic. Next came the side eggplant carpaccio. Had great flavor and a tiny bit of heat from the jalapeños. So yummy. Lastly, fish schnitzel which was tilapia accompaniedby a lemon oil dip. The breading was perfect with a nice crunch with each bite. I thoroughly enjoyed it all. All the amazing flavors that satisfied my palate. Can't forget about the great service. I went here to try the shakshuka breakfast this place is very well known of. Shakshuka is wonderful egg stew with tomato and herb. Well I thought that's all I was gonna have here until the server laid tiny plates in the table. Not sure how other places serve Shakshuka but this traditional Israeli breakfast was served with tahini and pita with an assortment of fresh, homemade sides and salads including muesli, avocado spread, jam, feta cheese, olives, tuna, etc. My eyes popped out and my jaw dropped. I was thinking how the hell will I finish all these. Consumed with that thought, i started working on these goodies. I enjoyed it so much that I totally forgot about the real reason I came here. Yes, I forgot all about the shakshuka until the server came back with a big plate of this egg stew. As good as it looked, I wasn't even able to touch it. I had it to go which I enjoyed later that day. Looking forward to order it next time I visit but I'll make sure to bring someone else to share it with. Today was the first time I've been to an Israeli restaurant and it was great! Planned to go with a couple of friends we took a trek to Tarzana to try out their Shakshuka plate. Doing a bit of research we noticed a nice spread that accompanies the meal. Excited to try so many different flavors we all came hungry. Shakshuka a simple dish with complex spices all rolled into a tomato stew served with egg. The portion was overwhelming and already knew leftover was to be had. The sides that came with the plate are several different items that accompany the dish or pita/bread which is also served with the meal. There were so many items available but my favorite was the mango jelly, avocado and the olives/pickles. Had I known how to each this dish I would have created a small sandwich with the pita, adding Shakshuka inside with some of the salad that came with our plate. Our group added a fish to try, the sea bream. A filet that was perfectly cooked in butter, garlic and pickled lemon. All items here are great for sharing with a semi-large group of people. We also ended our meal with a Malabi. Malabi is an Israeli milk pudding, simple and delicious. I have never had anything like it in my life and I felt that today I leveled up in culture. The food is flavorful. You can taste the difference between the seasons and fish. The service is wonderful as soon as you set down there's water and appetizers sent to your table with pita bread. Things have changed a lot since my last visit here. Severs and workers are not as it used to be. They used to have the Israeli mentality of abundance. I didn't feel this way this time. There used to be better staff overall. I didn't get a hood vibe. They need to have better waitresses and resurrect the"" "whatever you want" mentality that was one of the main reasons Israelites and everyone else flocked to this place. I ordered the breakfast. It was good. Just overall experience wasn't pleasant. I guess it's the people that run it. Not sure if I'm going back there again. Excellent presentation with great quality. The fish was very fresh and moist. Although the flavor doesn't agree with my pallet, I believe that's a personal matter of preference of regional spices. The food here has a very Israeli taste. A tray of different appetizers are brought including different vegetables, humus, and dips for the hot pitas. All which are complementary, unique in flavor and impressive upon delivery with the many different samples. The service was excellent and very attentive. Very inventive idea for a Valley strip mall type setting with the sounds of the Middle East softly filling the air the atmosphere is cool, calm and relaxing. The order is delivered to the table in a timely manner which makes for a great business lunch for under an hour. It is somewhat pricey for the location, and not a huge selection to choose from. Unless your a huge fan of fresh water fish, eggs, and hummus I would suggest elsewhere. Valet parking is available at no charge and your keys can be found at the booth on the way out. read more
