Great new kosher restaurant in the valley! This one is dairy and fish but it's the same owners as tlv tapas! I really enjoyed the Greek salad, Bourekas's, and knafe! It's more on the pricey end but great for a special occasion! Beautiful Ambiance. Cesar was an amazing server too!

My bf and I have been eyeing this place because we're biiiiig fans of Tel Aviv Grill and finally decided to check it out for lunch. When we came there wasn't a wait but I've seen it busy at times. They have seating inside and some outdoor tables too. You order like a typical sit-down restaurant, the waiter comes to take your order, brings you your food, then the check. We ordered the whole denise fish and you get one choice of side with that - we got the israeli salad (cucumbers, tomatoes, onion). They bring out a beautiful rotating platter of dips with freshly warm pita and a side plate of hummus. You can't help but just dig right in. The hummus is to die for, I could have licked the plate clean by the end of it. The pita is deliciously fluffy and fresh. It's fun to try all the little side bowls - everything from baba ganoush to salsas to quinoa salad. After some time, the fish came out! It was lightly fried and tasty, especially with the squeeze of lemon. Really tasty meal overall. My bf got the limonana drink - it's light and not overly sweet, lots of blended mint. Friendly service here too. Would definitely come back!

Popular Restaurant is a great new spot in Encino serving delicious Middle Eastern cuisine with a tapas style small plates. The sashimi, salads, fresh bread, fish schnitzel, and grilled kolorabi were all excellent. Beautiful, clean atmosphere with great vibes and really good service, highly recommend.

    Sorbet

Went in for dinner with 4 friends and had an amazing dinner. Flavors surpassed my expectations. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and entrees to share. Sashimi, King salmon rolls, tzatziki, cabbage skewers, mushrooms hummus, focaccia, cheese baklavas and the best of all, the fish cigars. My favorite. We also shared entrees: branzino, salmon skewers, bucatini cacio e Pepe, and mushroom gnocchi. All delicious. Gnocchi had too much salt for my taste. For dessert, we ordered the sorbet with fresh fruit. Very cute plate. Service was attentive and discreet. Beautiful restaurant. The music was definitely too loud for comfort and too clubby. Hard to carry a conversation with ease. They have valet parking. Will definitely go back.

Valet parking only yet there is ample street meter spots. Walked up and the greeter asked if I had a reservation (which I did not). Was kind enough to seat my party of two within 2 minutes. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Overall the food is good and the ambiance/ atmosphere is more upscale. The pricing seems okay for the items but portions are a bit on the smaller side. The Cesar salad and Salmon Schnitzel were the best things I had ordered.

The drinks that are supposed to have some alcohol but nothing

We paid over $600 for drinks that had 0 alcohol in them. We ordered drinks and shots, none of us felt a buzz but we dismiss it thinking we'll feel it later. Next day we're all perfect as if not a single drop of alcohol was consumed.

Good fresh food, if you're looking for a quick and under 20$ lunch don't come. Ordered the fried tilapia - loved it, side of cilantro lemon dressing, with garlic on the side, pour everything on the fish and enjoy a delicious whole fish. Ordered labneh plate which was warm bagels sliced in pieces to cut open spread the lebneh Great food, good service,

($18 - Hangar 1 Mandarin Blossom Vodka, cold-pressed pineapple juice, fresh raspberry purée, lime juice fresh mint topper). I'm not a big drinker and am a fan of drinks that you can't really taste the alcohol and this was great. It was a fun to drink and was refreshing. For our entree my friend had the Fish & Chips. ($27 - Crispy haddock fillet, sea salt fries, tartar sauce, grilled lemon). I tried a piece of her fish and it was thinly battered, soft, and flavorful. I usually try to stay away from fried fish like this just because places use way too much better or the fish gets super oily but they was not the case with their fish & chips. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I had the 4 piece Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. ($34 - Fresh ahi, dynamite sauce, wasabi tobiko, togarashi, toasted sesame). Oh my goodness was this delicious. This is usually something you'd eat as an appetizer but eating it alone is a meal in itself. Yes, it's pricey BUT it is totally worth it. Saint & Second is an upscale dining experience. Their food delivers to that level as well. I highly recommend if you're looking for a new date night spot or something intimate with friends. You can really taste the freshness of all the ingredients they use.

However, in my two most recent visits, only the atmosphere has remained a highlight -- the service has declined significantly. My most recent visit was two nights ago, on Father's Day, for a celebratory dinner. Our server was curt and unwelcoming throughout the meal. When my glass of wine arrived, the server suggested I taste it first -- which I did -- and it was immediately apparent that the wine had turned. Having ordered the same wine many times before without issue, I was confident this particular bottle was off. When I asked our server if the bartender could open a fresh bottle, she agreed without hesitation. However, moments later, a gentleman I assumed to be the manager approached and informed me that a new bottle would not be opened, as the current one had only been opened the day before and was, in his opinion, fine. His only alternative was to offer the same varietal at a higher price point. I understand that restaurants may have policies regarding open bottles, but in all my years of dining out, I have never encountered an establishment that refused to replace a glass of wine a guest found unacceptable -- especially when the server herself had encouraged me to taste it for that very reason. This experience left a lasting negative impression, and unfortunately I will neither return nor recommend this restaurant going forward.

Most people contribute to a pot luck feast that spans the wide world of food, from hot dogs and chili to baked ziti, tacos, meatballs, fried chicken, Chinese food, and on and on -- including some amazing homemade clam chowder from Mike The Mailman. Bartender Natalie did an amazing job of handling the busy crowd with speed and smiles. There were a couple of other staffers on site to watch the game, and they jumped in when she needed a hand with this or that, but for the most part Natalie captained the bar single-handedly for the duration. Kudos to her. It's true, Super Bowl only comes once a year, so other game days don't have the pot luck feast -- Sugar Mill doesn't have a kitchen, though they're happy to have you bring in whatever food you like and eat it there. Paris, our server, was an absolute ray of sunshine. We decided to share a variety of dishes, which turned out to be the perfect way to experience the menu. I don't eat meat, but my fellow diners could not stop talking about the Braised Short Rib Rolled Lasagna. The Lemon Gnocchi was light and delicate, the beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, and the Crispy Squash Blossoms stuffed with ratatouille were absolutely delicious. The Cold Hamachi Aguachile was probably the most interesting dish of the night. It's almost like a fish snow cone, which sounds odd until you try it. My mom would call it "moreish" because every bite makes you want another. The Jumbo Prawns à la Plancha were also excellent. But the standout for me was the Eggplant Parmesan. It was completely over the top in the best possible way. If you told me to come back and order nothing but the eggplant and a martini, I'd happily call that dinner. What really stood out beyond the food was the pacing. Dishes arrived at just the right rhythm, the cocktails were excellent, and the playlist somehow added to the atmosphere without competing with the conversation. I took photos of everything, which should tell you how beautiful the food was, but the best part was simply having a genuinely fun evening with friends. Another one of my favorite sayings is: don't take a Mexican girl to a Mexican restaurant--she'll never be happy. It's not really the restaurant's fault. My mom is just too good of a Mexican cook, so the bar is set ridiculously high. That being said, Sol y Luna does a lot of things right. The salsa here is amazing, and that's one of the biggest ways I judge a Mexican restaurant. If the salsa isn't good, we're already off to a bad start. Thankfully, that's not a problem here.I also love that they prepare the guacamole tableside. It's always fun to watch, and it doesn't get much fresher than that. Over the years, I've also run into quite a few famous people here, which adds a little extra excitement to the experience. Another thing I look for is mole. It's one of the most complicated and time-consuming Mexican recipes to make, and I absolutely judge a restaurant by whether they can pull it off. Today I went with tacos. They were okay, but for me the real standouts remain the salsa, the guacamole, and the overall atmosphere. If you're looking for a lively spot with great salsa, fresh tableside guacamole, and a little celebrity-spotting potential, Sol y Luna is worth it
