I have been getting my nails done at Popular Nails for a couple of years .I have always been happy with the quality of work and often get asked where I get my nails done .Ling is the lady that does my nails , she is very pleasant and has other talents and does a great pedicure as well . I actually only went into this place because I ended up parking near it and noticed that it was open. I hadn't had a pedicure for a long time so I thought maybe that'd be nice. I walked in and was browsing the list on the wall of services offered. They do manicures, pedicures, waxing and eyelash extensions. My eyelashes are naturally quite long and I wasn't up for a wax. I often neglect my poor feet and my heels were pretty dry and black from the shoes I wear. There were three women just sitting around chatting when I got there so they kind of attacked me when I walked in. Not literally but kept asking what service I wanted. I went for the pedicure with nail polish. I went and selected an almost black polish and sat in the massaging chair putting my feet in the tub. It was pretty relaxing until I realized that I'd left my purse in my car. That kind of ruined the rest of it for me because that's all I could think of. The girl working on my feet was a lot more interested in chatting in another language with her friend and the leg massage was kind of awkward since she wasn't paying attention. Had been going to a lady in Spruce Grove and wasn't able to get out to see her and was looking for someone closer to home. Decided I would give this place a try. I was just looking for a quick polish change to be honest. I was impressed that the old polish was not taken off with a dremel but rather soaked off and used an orange stick to remove it. I did have some length previously added to my nails so that was filed off with the tool and I was good with that. I didn't want a lot done I was looking for a red/black french nail done with gel polish. I was so impressed that I got a full manicure out of the deal. Not something I was used to at my old place. The price was reasonable and I will be going back again. I just wish I could remember the name of the lady that I had, she was very good and spoke to me. She did speak to one of her co-workers in their language but only for a brief moment. Next time it will be a pedicure and see how they do with that. When this place first opened it was phenomenal! Now it's full of worker bees who have no grasp of the english language and could care less if you returned. The gel nails lasted less than 8 days. They cut my heel and big toe with clippers :( Definitely better than Vo's but well below what I would consider a great nail/pedicure place. When you go to leave they accost you for cash if you are trying to pay by debit card. read more

I came here for the first time with my sister to get our nails done before her wedding, I had only gotten acrylics once before at a different salon and I didn't love them so I decided to give Popular Nails a try. I had May do my set and can I say she did an absolutely AMAZING job! The shape and length was exactly what I wanted, and they turned out so clean and perfect and I was so happy with how they looked. The price was a little up there (70$ including the length, powder ombré and accent nail) but at that point I didn't mind paying that much because they looked really pretty, I'm definitely going to be going there again in the future :) thanks! read more

My mom and aunts come here all the time to get their nails done and I've been coming here for the last year. They have a large selection of colors for normal nail polish and shellac. The other reviews complained of people not speaking English. I wasn't bothered by this because it's so common of many nail salons other than those where you are paying an arm and a leg. The nail techs are nice and receptive to questions I had. The woman who was having a pedicure beside me was there a couple weeks previously and had chipped one of her nails but they fixed it up for her free of charge. The pedicure chairs are equipped with massage function as well. The facility is clean and I've never had to wait longer than 30 min. Sometimes they are quite busy so I usually call ahead. read more

Honestly this is one of the worst places I have gone to get my nails done. I came in for a pedicure and a new set of gel nails. On my pedicure, they cut too much of the cuticle away on my big toes, causing them to bleed, and the girl tried to just cover it up and hide it with the nail polish. Also despite my protests she put lotion on my legs (which I can't have since I am allergic to lotion) so now I have hives going half way up my legs. I also have scratches on my feet and legs from where she wasn't paying attention since she was too busy talking to another worker there. Now for my gel set, I'm extremely upset with. For starters, she made me bleed on 3 different fingers. My nails are overly thick, and much shorter than I said I wanted them to be, not to mention that I had to fix them at home since they were overly crooked. Also the nail polish was very poorly done, there is a big scrape in 2 of my fingernails and they polish was unevenly put on throughout all of my nails. For my payment, they kept trying to pressure me to pay cash instead of debit. I had enough of an unpleasant experience with Popular Nails that I will not be returning to this business, and I will make sure my friends and family avoid this place as well. read more

I have been getting my nails done for years and years. This was my first and last time going to this salon. My initial nails were great. However, not even a week later two of my nails cracked and one broke off. I went back today to get them both fixed. I was greeted and told to wait. I waited for an hour! For a simple touch up and obviously poor quality nails. I explained to the ladies that I had to leave for work. They told me to wait for ten more minutes (time which I didn't have). Then they invited me back tomorrow, however, I'm leaving for the long weekend. I requested half of my money back. Was simply shot down and told they would do the work now. To which I once again reiterated that I didn't have any more time to wait. They told me that their manager was on holidays and that there was simply nothing that they could do unless I wait even longer to have this problem rectified. Honestly, I'm not one to complain. For nails they have a lot of variety and they do a decent job not an amazing one. But I give this place a 2 star for the disgustingly rude behaviour of the women who work here. They speak Asian while giving dirty looks and laughing and they walk away from you while you are speaking to them . If you request something or question something different , they get angry. Although you are the customer, you will get bosses around and given attitude . Eye rolling is constant. Tone is rude. Disgusting behaviour . read more
