I was appointed Mr.Salerno about a year and a half ago in family court, unfortunately for me this…read morewas my very first interaction with family law, any court proceedings besides getting divorced actually, and I was very naive in believing the lawyer appointed to me would listen to anything I had to say and do his due diligence to work in favor of what is best for my children and myself. Boy was I wrong ! On our initial meeting Mr.Salerno simply asked if I wanted my children, after answering with yes, of course I do ! He simply said okay, that he was going to ask me a series of questions in front of the judge and for me to "say yes to them". I hadn't the slightest idea what I was saying yes to and nothing was discussed whatsoever. Stupidly I did as advised. Since then it has been quite an eye opener about how naive i actually was to trust in this man and him doing his job. There is zero communication with him, i have asked for things to be explained to me , for modifications to be made, just simply looking for clarification on things and the only responses I received was either 'don't worry about it, ill handle it" to lying about moving forward with filing a Motion, and being completely disregarded and him not even bothering to open and read text messages and emails regarding the case, which is still open and on going and he is still unfortunately representing me. When asking why it was that I needed representation at all in this case, he wholeheartedly believed I was guilty of what I had been accused of, with no proof or anything to go off, literally just hearsay. Not to mention the fact that I didn't even know what the actual accusations against me were until after a year of all this nonsense, which i had to find out from a document from dcf, not my legal representation. So if you want a lawyer who will be there just for a check and not hear you, not listen to you and to ignore and disregard anything of Importance you have to say, then in my experience and opinion, this is the guy for you. I would absolutely give ZERO STARS if it were possible. ​I'll see you at the next hearing in a couple of weeks where I will once again speak on my wishes to have you removed from my case Mr.Salerno and every single one until then.
