Frosted mug for my lady's Diet Coke
    Shaun H.

This place has been around forever and we were in the area so decided to pop in and try it. I knew once I saw pizza burger on the menu I had to try. My wife got the footlong and tater salad and I got the pizza burger. We split the onion rings. This is a small place and kind of old, the chairs and decor have not been updated in forever and the booths are pretty beat up. But that's about the only fault I could find because the food was extraordinarily cheap, extraordinarily delicious and the lady waiting on us was very attentive and nice. This is probably the single best pizza burger I've ever eaten btw. If you're a fan of burgers and/or pizza burgers you MUST TRY IT. The onion rings were very crispy and delicious and my wife said her coney dog and tater salad were both quite good as well. We talked to an elderly gentleman upon leaving and he said he'd been eating there since the place opened back in the late 50's (if memory serves) which tells you all you need to know about just how good this place consistently is. I really recommend this place, just be aware it's kind of old and not fancy at all, but this is my kind of place, just good, cheap food and good help. RECOMMENDED!

Burger fries and fried cauliflower to go
    Jessica B.

My mother used to bring me here as a kid whenever we visited Mansfield. And as a kid I loved it. Their cheeseburgers with Velveeta, fresh cut fries, and their homemade rootbeer were all things I looked forward to. Flash forward to almost 30 years later when I end up moving to Mansfield and of course Porky's is one of the first places I wanted to go and to keep the tradition alive and take my own son. On to the food. There's good and bad. The burgers aren't as good as I remember. They are very thin, the Velveeta is good tho. They nickel and dime you for toppings like mayo, lettuce and tomato. The lettuce is iceburg which is fine except it's always really wilty which I can't stand. And the bun sucks. It's like a cheap grocery store bun and it hasn't been steamed or toasted. The fries are EXCELLENT. Fresh cut fair fries. They are always crispy and not too soggy. And they have vinegar for them which is a must for me. Also the homemade rootbeer and milkshakes are really good as well. I did try their fried cauliflower and I wasn't a huge fan. The ranch they serve it with was good but it tasted like they needed to change their cooking oil. All in all Porky's is a fun nostalgic place that even has car service. I will definitely be back for the fries alone but I think from now on I'll steer clear of the burger.

Was in town so we stopped in to try out a local joint to eat. Cute old place with very affordable food choices.

Onion rings. $3.95 they were ok. Server asked if we wanted ranch dressing- of course. Found out on the bill an additional .95 cents.

Everything is good food and service. That's the reason they are still in business after all these years.

I'm honestly surprised this place is still open. Food was full of oil. The building is falling apart.

Good thing we still gave it a chance because we were seated immediately and our server was over for drink orders within a minute. The food came out about 10 mins or less from the time she put it in and everything was hot and fresh. I thought the country fried steak had great flavor. I wished that the hashbrowns were crispier, but the rye bread was delicious and the scrambled eggs were standard. My boyfriend had chili and the Philly cheesesteak and enjoyed both. The chili looked hearty and was served with crackers. The dining room is organized well to allow for many tables and plenty of walk way. They have pictures and fun decor throughout to give that homey feel. I'd recommend, if you're looking for a good diner experience.

I ordered a sausage, cheese, and mushroom omelette, paired with wheat toast, a biscuit, and a sausage patty--because why not try the full breakfast spectrum? The food? Good. Not mind-blowing. Just classic, comforting, and honest--like a warm hug from your Midwestern aunt who doesn't do fancy but always delivers. The menu is no-frills: eggs, pancakes, potatoes, breakfast meats--you know the drill. But the real MVP? The service. My coffee cup never hit empty, which automatically earns them five stars in my caffeine-fueled heart. Would I drive cross-county for it? Nah. But if I lived nearby, I'd be in here every weekend, sipping coffee and solving the world's problems over bacon.

I hopped on Yelp, saw Oak Park Tavern was open, and said, "Hey, let's give it a try." Thank goodness we did! We were greeted warmly by both the staff and customers who were enjoying a late-night ballgame. We arrived well after the dinner rush--easily four hours later--and only about 50 minutes before closing. Despite that, the atmosphere was welcoming, the service was outstanding, and we never felt rushed. The walls were adorned with hand-drawn battlefield crosses and messages honoring the fallen and supporting our service members. As someone who deeply appreciates that commitment, it resonated with me. I struck up a conversation with the bartender and learned that his son is a Marine. His pride in supporting veterans and active-duty service members was evident and appreciated. Sarah, our waitress, was friendly, kind, and attentive despite the late hour. She smiled, laughed with us, and made us feel right at home. Now, the food! The lobster dish was fantastic--perfectly seasoned and served with a delicious sauce. The seafood entrée I ordered was outstanding, and the wedge salad was absolutely top-tier. I love a good wedge salad, and this one exceeded expectations. My wife, Juliann, loved her New York Strip, which was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The cocktails were excellent as well. Thank you all for an amazing visit. We'll definitely be back the next time we're passing through!

Although we had reservations, we waited about 10 minutes in a very cramped entryway that also served as the bar area and a pass-through for the kitchen. Staff carrying large trays constantly had to squeeze past waiting customers, making the entrance feel crowded and awkward. The first thing we noticed was a strong fishy odor that lingered while we waited. We were eventually seated on the newer outdoor deck, which was pleasant enough, but it felt very plain with almost no décor or atmosphere. The overall vibe of the restaurant was more functional than welcoming. Our server was in training and accompanied by another server throughout the meal. She did her best, but the service overall lacked warmth, and there was a long wait for our food despite many empty tables. The biggest disappointment was my steak. While the portion size was fine, it was so full of gristle that I left nearly a third of it untouched because it simply wasn't edible. My husband's fish tasted good, but many of the thinner pieces were overcooked and dry. When I mentioned the problem with my steak, the response was simply, "Is there anything we can do for you?" followed by an awkward silence. No apology, no offer to replace it, and no acknowledgment that such a poor cut of meat shouldn't have been served. Because this restaurant is in a fairly remote area with few nearby dining options, we had really hoped for a better experience. Sadly, between the lack of ambiance, the mediocre service, and the disappointing food, we don't plan to return. One more thing, they scrub bad reviews from their home website.

There are relatively few dining options in Mansfield Ohio on a Sunday, thankfully Hudson and Essex is one that is available! We arrived without Reservations and seated in the dining room. We usually prefer the bar; however, as it was Sunday dinner, we wanted to be more proper. On Sundays, they do offer a dinner menu and a Sunday dinner menu. Their Sunday dinner menu is very good! We've had offerings on it before and have never been disappointed. This time we did decide to order off the regular menu. After ordering a round of cocktails to start with, we ordered a jalapeño flatbread appetizer special to start. Must say that that flatbread was extremely delicious and hot! The jalapeño slices could've been deveined and deseeded to tame the heat a little. For our main courses, I ordered their Caesar salad with blackened chicken, my wife their small filet, and mom their pierogi appetizer. Our meals came out well presented and delicious! It was the first time I've ever had their Caesar salad and I enjoyed it immensely. My wife always enjoys their steak and my mom raved about the pierogies. No formal desserts were ordered; however, I ordered a last word, which was delicious! Alec really is a great bartender and can make just about anything! We ordered from a young lady with the most amazing blue eyes and she brought our food when it was ready. My wife had the Muffuletta Sub and I had the Mighty Meatball Sub.
