Don't be afraid of the age showing on this building. Our visit in July of 2023 to this establishment was a great one. Established in 1949. That makes it 74 years old. We were road tripping, and hubby found it. It was a must stop because we used to have one in IA when we were younger. Not as a chain, but close to same idea and decorations. The nostalgic smell of grease when you walk in floods your senses. I'm legit excited to clog my arteries with the delicious meal of the night. There are only 3 booths on each side of this triangle shaped building. A few bar stools around the island and then a hopping kitchen. The booths and table are worn from the use which didn't bother us. I checked in Yelp. A coupon popped up on Yelp, and I saw the signs asking for us to show it before ordering. The owner came out and apologized that she never authorized the coupon with Yelp but still gave a small discount. She and the waitress were both sweet. We got to talking, and she was 3rd generation owner. She took over from her dad. Runs the place and helps organization fund raisers but can't afford to compete with the car nights anymore. Our Porkys at home used to have car nights too which is why I asked. While sitting there a car pulled up and someone stepped out to take an order also! If you want an old fashion burger cooked in butter with toasted bun, delicious fries to dip in a chocolate malt at a reasonable price. Go here. These types of locally owned places are few and need their local support. I got a burger and fries. Served simple on a paper plate, and I savored every bite. Hubby also got a cheese burger and cheese balls with ranch. The food helpings aren't overly sized which meant no waste. I liked being able to eat everything I highly recommend it. read more

Porky's is still popular because it has been here for decades, time to shut it down, Food is mediocore at best . I bought a discount coupon at the tv station, went to Porky;s and they did not want to honor it. I waited over an hour while waited on full price customers and then the person working there told me I could just leave. Worst place in town, rude help, bad food, high prices for what you get. Go t coney island or Mansfield restaurants instead. I hope this place closes down. read more

This place has been around forever and we were in the area so decided to pop in and try it. I knew once I saw pizza burger on the menu I had to try. My wife got the footlong and tater salad and I got the pizza burger. We split the onion rings. This is a small place and kind of old, the chairs and decor have not been updated in forever and the booths are pretty beat up. But that's about the only fault I could find because the food was extraordinarily cheap, extraordinarily delicious and the lady waiting on us was very attentive and nice. This is probably the single best pizza burger I've ever eaten btw. If you're a fan of burgers and/or pizza burgers you MUST TRY IT. The onion rings were very crispy and delicious and my wife said her coney dog and tater salad were both quite good as well. We talked to an elderly gentleman upon leaving and he said he'd been eating there since the place opened back in the late 50's (if memory serves) which tells you all you need to know about just how good this place consistently is. I really recommend this place, just be aware it's kind of old and not fancy at all, but this is my kind of place, just good, cheap food and good help. RECOMMENDED! read more

Your here for the food, not for an experience with the staff that makes you feel like your special, or a plating that looks like someone went to culinary school. My mother used to bring me here as a kid whenever we visited Mansfield. And as a kid I loved it. Their cheeseburgers with Velveeta, fresh cut fries, and their homemade rootbeer were all things I looked forward to. Flash forward to almost 30 years later when I end up moving to Mansfield and of course Porky's is one of the first places I wanted to go and to keep the tradition alive and take my own son. On to the food. There's good and bad. The burgers aren't as good as I remember. They are very thin, the Velveeta is good tho. They nickel and dime you for toppings like mayo, lettuce and tomato. The lettuce is iceburg which is fine except it's always really wilty which I can't stand. And the bun sucks. It's like a cheap grocery store bun and it hasn't been steamed or toasted. The fries are EXCELLENT. Fresh cut fair fries. They are always crispy and not too soggy. And they have vinegar for them which is a must for me. Also the homemade rootbeer and milkshakes are really good as well. I did try their fried cauliflower and I wasn't a huge fan. The ranch they serve it with was good but it tasted like they needed to change their cooking oil. All in all Porky's is a fun nostalgic place that even has car service. We found this place thru Yelp. We were kayaking at Charles Mill lake. Seats about 20 people, nice server - David. Food was good, but served on 6"paper plates- on paper boats for our fries. The "large" burger was very small and smashed, and velvetta cheese ($4.05) I paid .80 cents more for mayo, lettuce and a slice of tomato. Plus a quarter for a pickle. It was tasty- but the nickle and diming stuff reminds me of the 80's when restaurants charges .50 for blue cheese dressing. My sister got a steak 'um - menu said hoggie bun, came on a burger bun. Meat, grilled onions and velvetta cheese. Again tasty. We split the sandwiches and shared half with each other. Ice tea is freshly brewed, tasted fresh and cold. After 3 hours of kayaking this hit the spot.... but charge me more- don't ask me for .60 cents for mayonnaise. read more

Me and my friend on a road trip drove 130 miles to try this burger place we seen on Facebook. Can't say too much for the Decour but the actual taste of the burger and fries made the trip with while. If you're in the Mansfield area don't judge a book by its cover the food will blow you away it is just unreal.When I got my burger it was kind of made like a steak 'n Shake burger it had the crispy bits of ground beef around the edges beautiful bun lots of onions and mayo and it's just amazing taste. For a large helping of nostalgia , visit this vintage eatery that has served the north side of Mansfield for well over a half a century ! Small in size but large in memories , this 50s style Diner brings back thoughts of cruising the strip in my buddies 55 Ford , and burgers served by pretty teen carhops.... one of whom I ended up dating ... Anyway , don't expect the glossy surroundings of Todays chain restaurants , as this place is best described as having a " homey atmosphere " .... no potted plants or tufted chairs , fancy fixtures or state of the art espresso makers . There's something to be said about returning to A venue that reminds of one simpler times , a diner that still has old fashioned comfort foods listed on its menu ! I have been to this establishment twice now with mixed feelings. The building is cramped with not a lot of space but makes up for it in decor. The inside is full of cute, pig-themed decorations. All of which make the experience better, in my opinion. The first time I visited this restaurant, it was very cramped and we waited a long time to get seated. The next, no one else was there. All of which can be expected, I suppose, from a restuarant with about six booths. It was a little unsettling, though, when the booths moved everytime I readjusted myself on the seat. Each time I have been there, the servers were alright but did not seem to pay attention to the customer as much as I would have like, especially since there are not that many to take care of. The last time I was there, my server did even make that much eye contact, which is a must in my opinion. It shows they are paying attention to the customers. Onto the food, it was nothing special. As a person who cannot eat pork or beef, I had little options to eat. I am not complaining on that, though, because I knew it would have been that way, being a pig themed restaurant and all. The first time I was there, I had the shredded chicken. It was alright, I would have to say. Again, nothing special. It did have some flavor but nothing to make it stick out. The bun was kind of disappointing, considering it was completely flat. It was almost as if it was smashed and from a cheap grocery store. The next time I visited, I ordered a skinless chicken sandwich. Consistently, nothing special. The chicken had no flavor and it came on the same smashed bun. I ordered lettuce, tomato, and mayo to go on it and they nickel and dined my. If I remember correctly, the lettuce was 0.25, the tomatoe was 0.30, and the mayo was somewhere in that range. Not worth it, in my opinion. Sure it added to the flavor and made the sandwich better, but it was not worth the price. The ingredients were nothing to brag about, either. I ordered onion rings with this sandwich, as well. That was probably a mistake on my end. Onion rings either seem to be good or bad when ordering from somewhere. Here, let's just say they were not good. Half of the order was soggy while the other half was crisp. It was a weird mixture. The breading was not that great, either. The food was served on flimsy, six inch paper plates. The food did not sit on the plates properly and everything kept falling off. Most of my sandwich fell onto the plate at one point. That is as far as the lettuce, the tomato, and the mayo. Another downfall, the server kept touching their nose and her hands got uncomfortably close to the food. That was completely discouraging and unappetizing to me. OVERALL, I would say Porky's is worth the experience. To say you have been there and get a feel for the environment. Personally, I would not go there for the food. It was nothing special but not good. I will probably visit again in the future to see if it has changed, though. They are slightly over priced for what it is as well. I really did not appreciate paying almost a dollar for subpar sandwich toppings for a sandwich that was not even that good. read more

Porky's is amazing. You have to appreciate it for what it is and not expect anything different. But, the food is obviously fresh and absolutely delicious. The burgers are perfect and I love that you get to choose your toppings. It doesn't make me feel picky that way and I get exactly what I want. (Works sauce on works sauce on works sauce, please!) The hand cut fries are amazing and the milkshakes are great, too. The prices are unbeatable and the atmosphere is fun for what it is. I grew up going here so I may be a little biased but I've taken many out-of-towners here and they love it too! read more

Recently visited Porky's with a gift certificate. Was very disappointed with Customer Service. Opened door and everyone turned to look at me-like I was an outcast. Did not know to seat yourself-or to be waited on for a seat. Saw the owner on her laptop- at the Counter Space- did not look up, smile, greet, or even acknowledge me. Spent over an hour there. Owner NEVER showed any friendliness. Sure, may have been busy with restaurant work, but should at least pretended some kind of friendliness or at least go to "an office in the back" to do work. Waitress was nice. Food was good. won't go again. dropped over 25 dollars- along with the certificate, Everyone said what a great person Danita is. But I don't see any greatness. Classic Mansfield. This is to this day one of my favorite meals. I have been going for over 20 years. If you have never been, keep it simple. Burger, fries, shake and root beer. The burgers are unique. Thin and crispy. I keep toppings limited otherwise it turns into a mess. The fries are handmade and fantastic. I am not a person who gets milk shakes but you have to try one. Let me start off by saying this: Porky's does their thing and have been doing it for YEARS. If you grew up eating their burgers, then it is a taste of comfort and the norm. I have not grown up eating their burgers. I do enjoy them from time to time, but thick and juicy they are not. They are flat and dry. Having said that, they are good. But you have to know: it is what it is. I go there for their French fries and their milkshakes. They cook their fries in lard and they are FRESH CUT REAL POTATOES. If you sit at the counter/bar stool area you can see them cutting the fries to order. I soak mine in a pool of vinegar and it is pure heaven. I also enjoy listening to the cooks talk to each other and laugh. The staff is very friendly and the patrons are all salt of the earth people. I like the food and I like the people. They haven't remodeled the inside and that is fine by me. I like old school decor. The sign out front was just redone and looks like a million bucks. Go to porky's for the fries, shakes and ambience. I gave it two stars simply because I LOVE burgers and their burgers really aren't my first choice or cup of tea. But it is close to my work and haven't had a meal there I didn't finish. read more

I have been eating at Porkey's for over 35 years and the Twin Burger should be on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It's a mess to eat but it's got great flavor and a unique texture that I find awesome. Hole in the wall with killer food. If it's a greasy spoon you're after give Porky's a shot. Just don't use the restroom, it's brutal. Like a lot of places in Mansfield, it could definitely use an updating. Or at least a good deep clean and some fresh paint. The burgers are great, fries are awesome.
