Last weekend, the waitress we ordered from wrote the first letter of each word for what we wanted (*note that beans, bacon, bubble, black coffee all start with the same letter) and then proceeded to confuse my order for beans with bacon (which I have not eaten in 15 years). When I pointed this out to her (immediately as she set the plate in front of me), she shrugged at me. That was it. No beans for me and I was left staring at pig carcass. The atmosphere is what you would expect, dingy diner, with the additional gross factor of friends of the staff coming in and smoking, half in the door, while holding the door open with negative temperatures outside. Gross. The food is passable. The home fries and coffee are particularly notable for being decent. And they show football on the TV's, which the Irishman appreciates.

It's quite a large space but not a ton of seating so probably works quite well for the buggy crowd. The interior is a little bit dated but otherwise pleasant and comfortable. It's got a glorious exterior, really like it's just fallen through the sky from the early 70s and landed outside Putney Bridge tube station, the interior is the same. It's the kind of place to come if you want to spend less than £5 on your meal. Busy, friendly, cheap-as-balls. The food's not great but it's edible. I wouldn't go for a coffee, I think it's instant but the tea was fine. I mean, like I said, it's just like it dropped out of the sky from the 70s.
