Please be careful of this creepy and weird man. He kept on turning his head and just looking at me SO MANY TIMES!!! I had to move seats and made my whole shopping experience a let down! I hope he dies in his sleep and his whole family die in a house fire and go to hell for eternity!!!

Anyway, it is just basically another shopping centre, though I have to admit that adding a cinema is certainly a nice touch, even though they haven't actually added an outdoor area yet, which is a bit of a shame, though I suspect that this will be coming sooner or later. Like a lot of these large shopping centres, they pretty much have all of the stock standard stores here, whether they be big or small, and of course there is also the food court, which not surprisingly is right next to the cinema. I guess the thing that I don't like about the place is that it really isn't all that accessible by public transport (or at least decent public transport.

I really like a couple of the food places here - they have a good green grocer, very nice cheap variety and crafts store where you can get glass beads and cheap party stuff like napkins and wrapping and toys and all sorts of odds and sods (that's on old saying). The supermarket is not bad, there's some seating inside if you are a bit puffed out and there are a few stores where you can get a feed if you need to. One of the things you may notice around here is there are more Africans, because there just happen to be quite a few living in the Anglicare accommodation around here. As yet that doesn't seem to have made any impact on what is for sale in the stores here, but eventually maybe it will. In the meantime, this is not a bad alternative to my usual shopping centre; I do like to mix it up a bit.

Westside Findon Shopping Centre is a gorgeous little set of shops with a very friendly atmosphere…read more There is a strong sense that everyone knows everyone else, and the shop assistants always smile and greet you and are happy to chat. It gives the place a great feeling. It follows the usual routine of local shopping centres - a supermarket, a green grocer, butcher, deli, newsagency, bakery, discount store, cafes, grog shop and some women's clothing stores. This sums up the shopping centres around this area. The only difference in this one is the atmosphere, the smaller size and the age of clientele, which appears to be quite a bit older than average. Lots of little oldies come in for a coffee and a piece of cake at the cafe, and to do a little shopping. The one clothing shop here is specifically for 'mature women', so that definitely says something. There is also a large Italian community in the area, and the deli caters very much for these, and you'll hear plenty of Italian flying about if you're nearby. Ahhh I love the sound of that language. The only downside of this centre is that because of the relaxed friendly vibe of the place, we often get some feral children screaming around. But you can get those anywhere I suppose.

I should know, one of my first jobs out of school was working at the Industrial First Aid Service which was upstairs at the Adelaide Arcade where I used to put aspirin into aspirin jars, stick on the labels and place them into First Aid Kits; and need I mention that was in the last century! Yes, well, the actual Arcade itself was built long before that - in fact around about one hundred and fourteen years before I was born in 1885. The history web page will tell you they threw the place up almost as fast as a catwalk model throws up her Christmas dinner, and it has been a destination for the refined shopper ever since. Adelaide has a great deal of old historic buildings but nothing quite like the Adelaide Arcade. It is a rather lovely spot and sort of similar to the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, if you stretch your imagination just a touch. The difference is that the QVB in Sydney sat idle and filled with the poop of pigeons for decades, while the Adelaide Arcade has been operating since it opened. If you have time you should go up onto the rarely visited first floor and have a look in their little museum, it's a cute little spot with some significant information on show. Free of charge and fine for kids. In fact it's a special spot that you can take the kids and help them feel they've had something special that will cost you nothing. Kids as young as six or seven upwards will enjoy the display as long as you can drum up a little enthusiasm for it yourself. I'm really torn with rating this Seaford Shopping Centre, so much of the centre definitely…read morequalifies at 'Meh' but there are also some really great local stores that are quite fantastic. So 3 Stars seems a nice medium. The Seaford Shopping Centre underwent a huge change a few years back, and one of the best things about the upgrade was the introduction of Big W. The amount of times this store has saved my life (a possible over-exaggeration)! When you need cables, or batteries, or a book, or a DVD, or really anything. Before the change the centre was good for groceries and a magazine or two. The upgrade also bought a whole load of new stores, but most barely rate a second look. Fly is great for buying teens surf clothes, but most other stores are peddling 'country fashions' that I'm sure my nan would buy. The highlights can pretty much all be found in the old section of the centre. These include Seaford Gourmet Butchers, TC's Fruit & Veg, Barossa Fine Foods, Seafood Chest, and the Newsagencies. Some of these have been around for years, while others are new additions. But if you skip Woolies and buy from the smaller guys you can get some great produce. I don't really look forward to coming here, but I can't deny that while most of the centre is fairly pointless, there are some great stores.

Full of discount shops - what's not to love!…read more I've usually been pretty lucky here, being able to pick up a bargain if I feel like a bit of 'pick me up' shopping. My mum and sister are both much taller than me, with long limbs and have found it more difficult to find items they like in their size. With the more recent addition of NoniB though, mum is much happier! There are a good mix of shops as well as options to eat or grab a drink. My favourite is Cherry Blossom sushi for a quick energy hit. All that shopping can require some refuelling. There are gift vouchers available and although nearly all the shops partake in the Harbour Town gift voucher system, there are a few where they aren't valid. There is a list available at the office, which could be worth checking if buying a gift voucher for someone who loves one particular store. My favourite store, Art to Art is there, closely followed by Novo Shoes that has some awesome shoe bargains regularly. A kind of weird tip I'd like to share is about walking along near the playground in the middle. I've been walking along window shopping, to only nearly twist my ankle and fall over. The playground area spreads out into the walk area and is totally soft and spongey! High heels sink in and the ground becomes inconsistent and difficult to walk on. Probably fine if wearing flats, but a bit disconcerting if not dangerous, if not!

However, It's great for the outdoor shopping experience, without those fucking annoying preachers.

Southgate Plaza is a smaller shopping centre just off Main South Road at Morphett Vale. It's more…read moreof a semi circle of shops with verandahs rather than an enclosed centre. Parking is usually not too bad but it can get rather hectic at times. Now they have moved the K-Mart Tyre & Auto into a brand newly built shop at the outer edge of the carpark it loses a little more room for parking. It's main attractions are Coles and Target then there are about 40 specialty shops. So a bit of everything is represented really. There's a Subway, EB Games, Priceline Pharmacy, Australia Post, Homeart, butcher, cafe, bottle shop, shoes, clothes, fruit and veg, mobile phones, a good mix for whatever you are looking for. These's even a Sushi shop I noticed the other day. I don't eat the stuff so never really noticed before. Worth a look or for somewhere different to go. I could see lots of locals using it often but the main drawcard that gets me there is Target (as it's the only one in the Southern area) or on a few odd occasions catalogues from Homeart or Tandy have made me make the trip here.

Southgate Plaza's main attraction is target, a nice department store. This is one of the largest Target stores south of Adelaide and has a great range. The other stores are quite nice too and you pretty much have one of each store type. Parking is really easy, however it gets harder at Christmas (very difficult during sales even though there are umpteen many parking spaces). They run competitions at Christmas time where you can win gift cards. These are worth entering, and the atmosphere is quite positive. It doesn't get too busy during the week, which is good too.

While there's nothing particularly exciting about this shopping centre, it is great to have locally because it has all the elements you're likely to need - a choice of two supermarkets, Coles and Foodland, a greengrocer, two bakeries, a chemist, a health-food store, a butcher, a library, and several places to have coffee and a nice lunch. There are also quite a few shops, including homewares, discount wares, women's clothing and shoes, a spectacles store, a newsagent. It's neither small nor large - just the right size to cover all your needs. It's reasonably easy to get in and out of, just remember that if you're coming up Grange Road from the city, you have to turn right and the lights and then enter the carpark from Findon Road. Otherwise you have a lot of traffic and a rather difficult "No U-Turn" sign to contend with.

It's just the right size for doing your grocery shopping, where you might want to stop into the bakery, chemist, butcher, or any of the other specialty shops situated here. There are also a few cafes that do a decent coffee so you can refuel midway through your shopping. The carpark is pretty decent for the size of the centre, and is nice and easy to access.
