I have such fond memories of childhood afternoons spent here with my mom and brother! It's definitely a fraction of the size of the downtown branch, but you can place a hold for any item and have it be transferred to pick up here if it's more convenient. The small rows of computers are usually busy and full. They have a great selection of movies, magazines, and CDs. The stand near the entrance usually has an impressive variety of new and/or relevant titles. There's a decent sized children's section, and I know this branch holds kid-friendly programming, especially in the summer. I always loved participating in their summer reading challenges. All in all, this location is clean, organized, with very friendly staff and is a great way to get the necessary library resources to the Northside of Holland!

I was not alone, my Mom and son were there with me. (For those that know me well, Mom and Eric have been gone for sometime. I don't know how I got water or got to the bath room. I did not eat for 2 weeks.(I guess) I don't remember talking to anyone. No one was allowed in my house. Daexy 10 or 11 Medics showed up and wanted me to go to hospital. I wouldn't go. I could only think of all those people that went in and didn't come out. Slowly slowly I began to come out of it. I am still very tire, my stamina is very low. However, I do eat peanut butter and toast, Few crackers. It takes me a while to form a sentence, so take me a while to write.: Still coughing, and rubber legs with an occasional headache. I can not get tested again until 2 weeks have past from my last symptoms. This is what I would like to say to those who still think that masks don't work. 70% is better than nothing and it is half that if only on wears the mask, For those that think it is no different than standard flu, so get it and some don't but all are carriers. I have one word for you that still think that way FOOLS! For those that think that their rights are being violated. WHAT ABOUT MINE? I BELIEVE THAT I HAVE HEARD THAT ENOUGH TIME AND AT THIS POINT EARNED THE RIGHT TO SAY "FUCK YOU" (a little harsh, but I am so frustrated about all the folks that lost loveones so needlessly) and for those lovely supportive people that are doing all that they can. LOVE YOU, HUGS AND BE SAFE. This disease really doesn't care. Don't know why some folks don't make it, why some do. I am grateful, but still scared. LOVE YOU. Out of steam. The one thing they don't have that I would have thought would be there that keeps me from giving a 5 star review is there is no playground equipment for children to play on. Now what they do have is a pedestrian only bridge across the Kalamazoo River. At the park there is a boat launch but there is a drop box where you need to deposit your fee for use of the boat launch. Along the river they also have 2 fishing docks on the side of the river where the parking lot is located and a few more on the other side of the river. Of course there is fishing that can be done from the shore or from a boat if you bring one. Also, for emergencies there is an outhouse which although not a great place is always kept cleaner than other outhouses I've seen in other parks. Overall it's a really nice place to go enjoy the river for a while.

We were only able to enjoy one of the wine tasting bars. And a few of the restaurants were only open for dinner or not at all on Tuesdays. There are all sorts of stores and boutiques to shop, with some cute little cafes, and bars. I would definitely recommend making a stop here for a day of shopping, drinking and eating.

Recommend wandering the shops for the morning, then taking the chain ferry accross the river, going to the Mt. Baldhead museum and climbing "Mt. Baldi" stairs... then wandering down to the beach. Our favorite meals - breakfast at Morning Star, lunch at Lucky Sushi cafe, and dinner at The Unicorn Tavern. We did not anticipate the level of mosquitoes here and wished we had brought bug spray! We also never saw anywhere to do water activities on the beach, but enjoyed the hot sand and freezing lake water. We went north to Muskegon one day and south to Holland another day. All in all, Grand Haven offers a charming, quiet, small town vibe that we really appreciated!

It was amazing to hear about their history, experiences & passions, most of whom were brimming with pride & recommendations... all of whom were friendly & welcoming. I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but I know that our experiences exceeded our expectations. Unlike some other harbor/lake towns, there were lots of true locals milling about and many open businesses. I've added many bookmarks for our next trip out this way & there will certainly be a next trip.

We have attended Oktoberfest at the Park in the past and this time we watched a few innings of The Douglas Dutch Baseball game. Their uniforms are based on a league from 1905. I can't knock their book selection or services offered at all because I'm not even a card-carrying member of this place. I live in the wrong county. But, I'm starting to think that's not such a bad deal after all. The staff here, although obviously competent, seems to really not give a crap about the patrons inside their workplace. I cannot tell you how many times I've been there only to find unruly children running amok, people chatting LOUDLY, cell phone conversations, and even the occasional person chowing down on some McDonald's or Burger King with their loud-ass paper sack and all. Come on... f'real? Yeah, they might have a decent book selection. They DO offer free WiFi (which is why I go there so much) and it CAN have moments where you might actually feel like you're in a library. But that seems to be few and far between for me. I wonder what happened to the library and when it became THE place to socialize. You would think with Allendale growing so rapidly because of GVSU, residents would find better places to take their social lives and uncontrollable kids. Allendale gets two stars just because of the free WiFi and because it looks like the place is kept up nice enough. However, if you're planning on actually doing anything that requires much concentration or anything much more than running in to grab a book and running right back out, well, I'd probably go check out some other library instead. This place kind of blows.

I have been using…read moreZeeland Post Office for years and years and USPS has never lost or misplaced a package, so I wasn't too concerned when one package going to Boston, MA was misdirected. I called and a wonderful person named Heather, searched and finally found the package in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked to get it redirected and it arrived today! YAY!! Zeeland Post Office is a great example of small town friendliness and helpfulness!
