Ed is absolutely great! I have hired him now on 3 separate occasions. Each time his work was fast, of high quality and reasonably priced. These jobs ranged from fixing wood rot on our front porch, re-caulking bathrooms, and some rather major surgery on our wooden floors. Ed always showed up on time, did exactly what was expected, cleaned up on completion and was overall very professional. A lot of these jobs were custom and asymmetric. He did them so well that its impossible to even notice that work was done. In particular I had to cut open our wooden floor to get to a pipe, no flooring company was willing to patch it, they wanted to sand and seal the entire level of the condo at great cost and inconvenience. I had a very strange job that I needed help with: I needed to remove two neon signs from the front of Hollywood Express on Mass Ave. I reached out to Ed about doing the job, and he said he had an idea on how to safely and quickly get them down. He totally did! The setup he brought supported the signs as he unbolted them from the walls and then lowered them down with his assistant. Ed is phenomenal. I first asked him to do some furniture assembly, hang art, and figure out a solution to allow two twin headboards to create a king --all of which he did in an afternoon (he is incredibly efficient). He also fixed some wardrobe doors that had come off a track, installing a much better solution that glides effortlessly. I mentioned that I needed a place to hang coats and bags in a small front room that doubled as my home office. The space is really narrow and I didn't want to look like I worked in a mudroom. Ed sent me a couple of plans and suggested a shelf underneath for books to give the piece some warmth and blend in with the office look. At best, I've had mixed experiences with contractors and repair people in the past...rarely happy with the quality of work and/or lack of communication.
