This is my second time here and this time I had to write it up! After hiking nearby, my compañero and I decided to go for brunch. We ordered a breakfast burrito and tamales con crema from the Sunday brunch menu. They were absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and the quality of ingredients was evident. I've been here several times, and while the food and service have usually been decent, today's experience was underwhelming. Despite only one other table being occupied, our simple order--hamburgers and a salad--took longer than expected. The lone waitress, who was also tending the bar, didn't really check in with us, which suggests a staffing issue. I also did not find her very friendly, just a very transactional encounter. She met the basic requirements of a waitress, take an order, bring the food and check in a very mechanical manner. My friends said the burgers were good, though one of them specifically asked for no mayo, yet it came with mayo and had to be scraped off. My salad was just okay--fresh enough but ordinary and not particularly memorable. The ambiance is decent, with large corner windows that offer a nice view of the outdoors. They also have a patio, but with the Arizona summer heat, it's not ideal for dining right now. Given the slow service and lackluster meal, I can only give this visit two stars. Superior, AZ doesn't have many dining options, and I believe this place has potential--but it needs some adjustments to live up to it. read more

I rode my Harley to Superior today from Scottsdale to have lunch at Porter's Saloon & Grill. Well, I've been sitting here waiting for an hour since I ordered and still no Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. The bartender / server was honest enough to share a couple of her tables walked out after waiting an hour for their meals that never showed up. The patient couple sitting next to me waited over an hour and just now got served. Regardless of the relatively generous ratings on Yelp, I suggest the Silver King BBQ Restaurant 2 minutes up the road. Their service is great and their food is fabulous! Love sitting outside on the patio, the atmosphere is very calm, chill, peaceful you can hear the quails singing. The food is always consistent and warm. They have a large bar and TVs to watch the games too. During the week the service is definitely slower because one person is making drinks and waitressing, still great service though. 8/10 recommend! read more

We stopped in at Porter's because Yelp showed it was dog friendly. They have lots of outside space and enough umbrellas to handle all the occupied tables. The servers were very attentive and pleasaant as well as efficient. We both had burgers which were delicious and cooked medium to our liking. Location was close to our campsite so by the reviews I knew we'd be having dinner here and I would be able to cut down my cooking time while out on the road. The service was slow but the help was friendly. We ordered our food and it was ok. Not enough flavor or maybe just salt? Looks as if the place caters to their locals. We ordered from the menu that was given to use but the locals were brought out steaks, lobsters and baked potatoes. We did not see any steaks on that menu so we figured that there was a sign as you entered stating the specials. Nope! Darn, I really could've gone for a steak or even a baked potato. I will say though, the food came out fresh and hot which was a plus. The place was small and there's outdoor seating that would've been nice if it wasn't so windy. The poor girl needed help. I got the patty melt and fries. It was very good and fries were crispy good. Not sure if we just ended up here on a bad day or what. Everyone waiting over an hour to get their food after ordering. Litterally everyone in the restauraunt. To top it off we could'nt get everything we ordered.....they ran out of french fries so we had tater tots which tasted like they were fried in old stinky oil, they ran out of chips and salsa, the food was pretty much cold and had to go up to the bar to ask for refills due to waitress never came back to the table. What made me mad was that the staff knew what was happening as far as the long wait for food and did not inform us of this after being seated. That's just wrong. The people at the table next to us got up and left and went somewhere else. Needless to say, we wont be going back. It's a shame because I did like the atmosphere. Stopped here after a hike in the area. There are upper and lower patios great for the nice days. The inside seemed pretty dark. The bathroom door has no lock just a sign on the outside saying to knock if closed but people don't always read it. The server seem to expect us to know right away what we wanted and said there wasn't a list of drinks but rattled a few off. Refills on water were not prompt but food came out quick. The green chili burger, and a honey hot wings were amazing. So happy with the food. My kid said the Shirley Temple was the best ever. I love the beers on tap too. The service wasn't super friendly at first, but they warmed up. The atmosphere is cool because the Mountains are all around and there's a cool bridge over the wash right next to it. A Beyond Burger came instead of a black bean burger so one person had nothing to eat but fries. Several people left because they couldn't get served. Be sure and check on the wait time for food before you order. The food quality was not exceptional but was fine. The waitress did adjust the bill by giving a free beer on one ticket and when we were just about to leave without waiting for our order she brought us a free basket of chips and salsa. We waited 10 minutes for our drink order, where we put in our food not long after (we ordered a salad and a chicken sandwich-pretty simple). ONE HOUR LATER and our food STILL has NOT arrived. There were two tables that were seated AFTER us, one party of 4 and another party of 6. Both tables had their food and left by the time we realized we would not be served. OVERALL, 0/5 service. Whoa!! We were blown away by the enchiladas and Superior burger- soo good! The green sauce was so flavorful and spicy but not too spicy and the burger had a thick patty with huge slices of bacon. Went into this "bar and grill " went to the bathroom. Found a table and sat for a few minutes. It only took my thick skull a few minutes to realize my husband and I would not be waited on. No one greets you at the door, no hello take a seat anywhere and we will be with you in a few minutes No just bitchy, unhappy looking women walking around. With no intention of serving you. With the price of going out nowadays I am happy that this establishment showed me how much they don't need my business. And from the other reviews it seems this is something they do regularly. On the bright side we road down the street and found Silver King smoke house. The pulled pork sandwich was wonderful and the brisket was yummy. So if you find yourself being snubbed at this place just go down the road a bit. They greet you and tell you to have a seat and they will be with you in a few with a smile. read more

As an avid motorcycle rider doing a lunch ride, you're always in search for the perfect burger,or Mexican restaurant. It was out on a ride, I came across a group of rider's who recommended Porters. When they told me, I had already eaten, but promised I'd check the place out on my next ride. Located in the copper mining town of Superior just a few blocks off highway 60, it sits along a hill, with a beautiful view the Pinal Mountains from their south patio. The burger did not disappoint at all. Had the cheese burger, but they offer a view varieties of burgers along with many menu items. The theme was copper, with tables that had hundreds of pennies clear coated in the table top. The staff was super friendly and the place was very clean. If you're traveling between Phoenix and Globe, I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Fortunately it's only a 35 to 40 minute ride for me to get here. read more

Worth the Wait! Our food - the Superior Burger, a regular burger, the patty melt, and the taco salad was excellent! The patty melt is one of the best I've ever had, order it! I'd give Porter's 5 stars, but the wait for our food was over 45 minutes. They are definitely short-staffed, the staff is very nice, but they are also a bit disorganized. We ordered chips & salsa that never came (and was still on the bill after I asked for it to be removed), never got the waters we asked for, and asked multiple times for silverware. That being said, we'll be back. Highly recommend, just bring your patience! read more
