This complex houses 3 different exhibitions: Fine Art, Porcelain, and Arms & Armor. We visited the fine art and armory exhibits and thoroughly enjoyed both. We did the armory first, then the fine art, but were too tired to do the porcelain, too. You can buy a combo pass that covers all three.
The paintings were first class and of the quality/artists that you would expect to see in Paris, Rome, etc. So, I was quite impressed with what Dresden had to offer. But having seen such fine art before, I actually enjoyed the arms & armor exhibit much more due to it's uniqueness and manageable size.
We were 3 adults, but if you are traveling with kids or have a short attention span for museums, then go see armory exhibit. The beautiful armor, wicked weapons and cool displays left me feeling more energized when we left. read more
