Warning!!!! Please read before you book!!One star is not warranted!!!! This charter took a group of 6 of us out. From 1-5 on 6/19/25. We had a great time caught around 20 fish. They charged us the agreed fee took our 20% tip. Then the owners son who was eager to get the boat cleaned and be done for the day dumped our entire bucket of clean fish in the ocean on "accident". He never took accountability, he never apologized. Accidents happen right...Well we quickly know where he gets his lack of accountability from. His father the captain of the charter did the same. He stated there's no guarantee of returning with fish. Even though our group of 6 caught around 20 fish. When explained that we did catch fish but his own son throw them overboard. We request a full refund. The captain refused. When we asked for at least our 20% tip back for unsatisfactory service, he refused. This is extremely poor service for a business owner that lacks accountability, responsibility, and respect. Unfortunately this type of behavior has taught his son to disregard their customers. Please don't waste your time or money trusting this charter. Very disappointed customer. read more

Disappointing - Do not recommend Booked offshore fishing on 03/28 at 1 p.m for 5. Charter called day before saying the fishing would be better in the morning and asked if we could reschedule to early morning and we agreed. Headed out with captain Colin on a fairly long boat ride to gulf. Stopped before we left tampa bay because the water was really rough. Attempted to fish and caught 2 fish then left and spent more traveling to another spot. Caught 1 fish but water was really rough at second location. Captain decided to headed back to dock but water was rough with strong wind. Everyone got completely soaked on the way back and we did not have access to rain coats. Captain took us to fish in a spot in front of some houses a few slips down from dock which we could have done anywhere. Spent way more time moving from spot to spot than actually fishing and got drenched in the process. Unfortunately we prepaid for this trip. read more

We had Captain Andrew and he was great. However, we went out to catch some grouper but we only got some silver snapper, which we would have been able to catch for way less than we payed for this place. I understand that your not going to be able to tear them up every time you go out, but for this much money I expect to at least catch something good. read more

They took us to a great fishing spot and we were catching fish faster then the hook was down. We all caught a lot of fish. We did an evening/ night charter that was truly amazing. Don't waste your money!!! We just got back from a half day charter and I'm less than pleased. For starters, our captain was supposed to pick us up at the boat ramp for 8:00 but showed up half an hour late. Once he pulled up first thing i noticed was the power pole tied to a cleat and the big hole in the engine cowl. Boat looked in rough condition but I didn't think anything of it until we started to come around Anna Maria island and lost steering going over the sandbar. After about 20 min the captain made the steering work. While the captain was messing with the steering we asked him what we were targeting and he said grunts and triggerfish. I called the day before to confirm the trip and I was told we were going for hogfish, grouper, and snapper. We moved for about 5 min then the steering shot out again. After fiddling with the wiring we made it out to the 3 mile reef. It was 9:00 when our lines were finally in the water. The captian was smart but fishing was slow. But that's fishing..we were back to the dock promptly for 12. Figured he would Atleast give us some more time since he showed up late and we wasted and other 40 min with boat trouble but I guess the charter after us was more important. Overall the performance of the boat and tardiness of the captain left a lot to be desired from the trip. We paid the captain full price in cash and also left him a reasonable tip. The same day I emailed Poseidon Charters to explain to them how unhappy I was with the performance and to see if there was anyway they could make this right. They replied with typical excuses about how their boat is always in tip top shape and the damage just happened. They even took the blame for being late. They offered us another trip on the house but we're not local so I asked if they could Atleast refund the 100$ deposit to make up for the tardiness and time wasted fighting boat trouble. After a week they still haven't responded to my emails or phone calls. I go on a lot of charters all over the country and the overall performance of this one was horrible. 700$ for a half day fishing trip I expect you to Atleast be on time and show up with a boat that's presentable and reliable. read more

We were scheduled to head out at 6 am for some shark fishing and I received a phone call yesterday from the Captain that the shark fishing would be better later in the day so we changed the trip for 6 pm. Apon arrival I meet the Captain and expressed that if the sharks aren't biting put us on fish that might be more available. We went 2 different places and with only 2 lines in the water. First time in my life that I never even touch a pole. It was a boat ride. I was expecting to have the Captain say ok we spent half the time and no luck with the shark let just go for something else. Tampa Bay is one if not the best fishing in the US and to go on a boat and not get anything was disappointing. I can expect that on a party boat but not a charter. $750 boat ride. We arrived back at the dock and the Captain threw a line in and caught a cat fish and had my son do it. I wish I had fish photos but unfortunately not. read more

We paid 700 bucks to go for a boat ride. Couldnt even catch fish because the captain tried to get to a spot that waves wouldnt let us get to. Then we went to another spot where dolphins kept taking everything we caught. You would think they paid attention to weather patterns, wind speeds and stuff like that. Then to top it off the motor on the boat broke down on the way back and we had to wait wait 45 minutes for another boat to come pick us up. Never again. Worst fishing trip ever and a waste of 700 bucks. Youre better off finding another charter. read more

One of the best fishing and chartered boat rental expirience. We were 3 guys looking for a fishing/tampa bay tour by water experience. Poseidon gave us a good deal and we had Drew (there are 2 but the one with beard) as our captain. He was very responsible, knowlegable, patient and hard working. He had been on the boat since 5am in the morning and we rented the boat at 5pm. He was very friendly and we had one of the best boys night out. read more

We waited 45 minutes then they call and say we aren't going to make it amd want us to drive 1 hour to another spot. received gift certificate for half day tour--long delay in booking due to covid finally called to book--hunter very pleasant--said he would still honour the certificate as it was fully paid. I advised him that our party would be 5 instead of 4. At this he said extra $100. for extra person. on arrival I mentioned only 4--response was ''fine'' upon return presented with balance owing. Gentleman(not Hunter) advised price had gone up--ergo-- not honouring paid up certificate, and different reason for charge than extra person. package ended up being $550.(instead of $450. paid upon leaving , talked to another party in lot who had just returned. Don't waste your time. The owner promised an open sea fishing, but that boat was too little for that kind of fishing even in nice and calm weather. The captain was irresponsible and one can tell that he does not care about this little boat, pushing it hard. And after we paid, our credit card was hacked. We had a great time on our 1/2 day trip with Capt Drew. He took us to several different spots to fish. The kids (ages 12 & 10) had a lot of fun. Capt Drew was great. He was patient with the kids always ready with a joke. Besides fishing we saw a turtle, dolphins, sting ray and a shark. Was awesome.
