I would give A-List beauty no stars if I could. I hired them for hair and makeup for my wedding…read more The trial could not have gone worse. It. Was. A. Joke. A lot of these places have you pay a significant amount of money to do a trial (like $500) because it creates a psychological motivation to continue to do business with them (the sunk cost fallacy). Ladies do not be victim to this- even if you paid $500 and the trial goes poorly, do not give them more money! I paid the non refundable deposit to Ariel Lewis, and gladly paid another company $1,500 just to not look (and more importantly FEEL) like I did after my trial with A-List. The other company was professional, kind, used actual beauty products (see below), let me watch what they were doing, and were friendly. Find a company that works with you for your big day. Not works you for the paycheck. Hopefully this will save you the $500 trial with A-List: Let's start with hair. The biggest red flag was that she wouldn't let me watch while she was doing my hair so that I could be "surprised" - I was surprised all right. She admitted to me she had not looked at the inspo pics they asked me to send in, and asked to see them. She looked at the first one and said "K I got it." She didn't have it, because what was created was a departure from my looks. It wasn't a terrible style if it had been done well. I mentioned concern about the longevity of the look day of, and she said confidently it would last even though I could feel the pins slipping. I said repeatedly my hair texture is fine and doesn't hold curl. She said "Not the way I curl" and then put wax in it to "help." Everyone with fine hair knows wax weighs it down. It did not last. Not even through 90 min minutes of sitting still and getting makeup done (much less a whole wedding...). My trial was done at 11:30am and by 1:30pm my hair had fallen out of the bun into the two sad looped pony tails she had used to create the look, and was in straight tendrils around my face. Not a curl in sight. Even the initial finished looked was frizzy and you could obviously see pins. The best part was that the A-List makeup trial was after hair and she came in and asked "what time my hair trial was?" hahah. "Oh you couldn't tell it just happened? Your teammate just gave me an updo, obviously!" Lol Next was makeup. Ladies. They used E.L.F products. Correct- the products you buy for your nieces and occasionally find at the dollar store. I get it, this isn't the main event, it's just the trial so maybe they use different products day of? If so, that negates the purpose of the trial... I want to have my shades matched and confirmed which is part of the trial one would think. I paid for airbrush makeup- she did zero prep the skin. She pulled the machine out and started spraying- didn't even pin my face framing hair pieces back so there was a distinct line not blended around my face where my hair had been. The airbrush went on cakey and flakey and actually aged me about 10 years. It's not for every skin type so that's part of it, but at least try and prep the skin. I sent Hailey Bieber natural dewey inspo and she did old church lady rosy pink cheeks I am not kidding. Bright. Pink. And round. I looked like a toy soldier, even after I asked her to keep blending. The whole thing was a joke. It also didn't last despite paying for airbrush- which I was grateful for because I would not have gone out looking like that. When I reached out to Ariel Lewis to tell them I would not be using them for my wedding and talk about how disappointed I was, I was intercepted by an admin. Interestingly, I didn't ask for a refund but the very first thing the admin said when I said I wouldn't be moving forward was that I wouldn't get a refund. This exchange told me a lot about how they do business and their priorities. I asked to speak to Ariel to provide feedback. I never heard from her. Guess it's on me to keep reaching out? I was then told I could do the trial again with the same artists. Nah I'm good... If it were my business with my name on it- I would be embarrassed by this. Pics below of hair. I didn't want my face out there on the internet so I didn't post makeup. So- ladies, save yourself the money with A-List. Unless you want a good laugh- My Maid of Honor was there and we still get out the "after" pictures so we can have a good chuckle over wine. I hope this saves another bride the stress and money I wasted on the A-List.

Very POOR Customer Service. Extremely POOR communication. Why does a company refuse to list itself…read moreon Google? So they can avoid all the negative reviews. So it's not a surprise that A-List has no Google listing and minimal reviews available... do the math. It doesn't add up to a reliable and professionally behaving company.

I show her a reference photo and what she does with my hair is always a million times more perfect than the photo it started with. She is so skilled at everything color and hair-related and on top of that, she is so freaking friendly and always has me cracking up in the chair. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Jasmyn and I am so glad I found her! Kristen, the owner and also a stylist, is so sweet and friendly. Every time I come in, she's the first to greet me and immediately makes me feel super comfortable, like I'm at a friend's house instead of a storefront. This is all due to Jasmyn's handiwork, but I've never left Bella without 100 compliments from the staff and patrons. Whether I need a quick trim or I want to completely change my look, Bella is the only salon I'll trust!

Took my opinions and how I felt about my hair into account as well. I have a lot of hair, and she made it feel weightless. She also helped my layers look more natural. Got a wonderful head massage and shampoo too before the cut. Will definitely come back!

I'm with Suzanne V…read more I purchased a Groupon to try out a new procedure and I'm really excited that they offer it but no one seems to know what's going on besides the owner. I was told by 3 different people that the owner would call but I've not gotten a call yet. They seem to do okay with regular paying customers. Is anyone else who used a Groupon having the same issue??? I hope I like this experience once they do call. Again, as Suzanne said, I'm requesting a refund if they don't.

It's true, I also had my appointment rescheduled at the request of the salon, but honestly, the…read moreservice I got while I was there MORE than made up for the slight scheduling gaffe. And here's what it boils down to: Anthony is an artist. He gave me, quite literally, the best color of my life. I purchased the Groupon for partial highlights and a cut, and made it to my rescheduled appointment on a Saturday. I explained to Anthony that I wanted extremely natural, thin, sparse highlights, and a trim and reshaping. "No skunk streaks!!" I begged. Man did he deliver. He applied the highlights, rocked the shampoo and massage, and then started blowing out my hair. He'd advised early on he planned to cut me dry. I was highly skeptical, but let him do his thing. As he blew out the sections, the strands started to shine and revealed gorgeous, subtle, sparkling highlights. The dry cut was one of the most enjoyable cuts I've ever experienced: with each slice and snip, I could watch my hair would bounce into a fresh, beautiful new shape. Could they improve their scheduling process? Yes, but I can't warrant knocking a star off for that. Hands-down the best highlights I've ever gotten in the years I've been at it, and darn close to one of the best cuts. Highly recommended.
