I've been a loyal customer for about 10 years now and I've enjoyed just about every bit of it. Until now. My cat pictured in my original review passed away a few years ago and after she passed I decided I was ready for a dog and along came Georgie. A goofy, fluffy, loyal Goldendoodle. His fur is on the curly side taking after his poodle genes. I've taken him to Posh for a bath and haircut several times and he's been to daycare many many times. I've never really had a bad experience. However, this most recent time was extremely disappointing and quite literally heartbreaking. I made an appointment for a haircut and bath + daycare. When I arrived I was greeted by their friendly staff as always then by Jeanine. She was pleasant and friendly but had all of these additional charges that she added on at the beginning of my service. I'll break it down below and explain. Mattes: my dog had mattes on his legs and body. I was aware and was prepared to pay the fee to take them out. Poodle feet: she said there was an additional fee to shave his feet? However at the end I didn't see any sign of poodle feet. Flea bath: because of the itching she recommended a flea bath, granted she did find 1 singular flea on him so that's fair. I also mentioned to her that he is on a flea medication. I check him regularly and have yet to find a flea. Shave fee?: additional charge to shave him I guess Cancellation fee: I live 2 hours away (recently moved out of the area) but wanted to stay loyal to Poshpetcare. Unfortunately I had made an appointment in March and had to reschedule for the following day within the 24hr window so they charged me a cancellation fee. I've never canceled within 24 hours and have been loyal to them For many years. This really hurt my feelings. I wouldn't cancel last minute and mess with someone's money. I simply rescheduled for the following day. They had lots of availability too so it's not like the appointment time was in high demand. When my dog came out he literally looked like a rat. His beautiful fur had been vandalized. It broke my heart and I just felt so bad. Like how could someone do this to him? If this was going to be the outcome they should've turned me away or shown me pictures of the absolute horror I was not prepared for. The poor front desk man knew how devastated I was. I got into my car and literally wanted to like blow up but I had to keep my cool bc I'm an adult lol. I've put two pictures below. One of his haircut done by Puppy Prom on 3rd and another by Poshpetcare. I go between the two businesses because Puppy prom isn't open on weekends and Posh is. I spent $300 for him to be shaved and given an uneven head haircut. I'm absolutely devastated. He's still the same happy pup but I just feel so bad that I did this to him. I highly recommend any Doodle owners take their pups to Puppy Prom on 3rd st. It's less than a mile away. Ask for David. He's the owner and will make your pup look like an absolute show dog. Also, everything is included in their flat rate. No "poodle feet" or "extra shampoo" fees. I've learned my lesson and do not plan to return to Poshpetcare. After spending over $12k in services over the years, my heart is broken. If you're a cat owner, I highly recommend Sabina at Poshpetcare. The grooming appointment took significantly longer than expected, and unfortunately the quality did not reflect how long they took. My dog's fur was unevenly trimmed and it looked like a rushed job, especially around the face, and he was left with severe razor burn around his genitals. The irritation was bad enough that I had to take him to the vet, resulting in a $200 bill for treatment, medication, and a cone. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I won't be going back. I was very disappointed and expected much better care, but specially considering the cost and very generous tip. read more

Our good friends referred us to this place after they took their pup (actually, our pup's brother!) here for the first time! We've been taking our dog at least once a week ever since. Ollie is a younger pup with lots of energy and no matter how many walks and playtime he gets with us, he's never as tired as he is when he is after he comes home from daycare at Poshpetcare! We know he enjoys it since he is sooo excited when we pull up, he knows exactly where he is going and is still just as happy when we pick him up. Everyone that works there is super nice and you can tell genuinely loves dogs. I've been using Yelp since 2015 & rarely post reviews. I've NEVER left a bad review which should say a lot... I have a 15 week old Standard Poodle puppy who has been getting professionally groomed once per week since he was 9 weeks old. Usually, we go to Pour La Pooch (who we love! They bathe & puppy shave his face, feet & backend within 2 hours.) I have NEVER received a complaint about their ability to shave my puppy. I have NEVER received a complaint that his coat is matted. In addition to his weekly grooming, I personally brush him every other day. He is well-kept. Because Pour La Pooch was busy until Wednesday/Thursday, I decided to pop him into POSHPETCARE. I dropped him off at 11:30am and was advised he'd be done within 2.5 hours. Perfect, because I had an event planned with my family at 4:00pm. After not hearing from them by 2:45pm, I called to check in. I spoke to the dog washer who claimed she tried to call me but must've had the wrong number (my number was correctly on file?!), that she had been consulting with her groomers and my puppy was too matted to work on - she was too busy... over 3 hours later, he hadn't been bathed, brushed or shaved... I explained that I had a family event and would need to cancel it to accommodate her "timeline" (she could not give an ETA because she "was so backed up"). I also explained how often my puppy is groomed and how neither myself or his usual groomer ever experience matting or difficulty with his grooming. The Manager tended to the call by advising I did not need to cancel my event, he'd ensure my puppy was cared for and if I arrived after 6pm, he could be held in their puppy day care due to the inconvenience... At 7:00pm (over SEVEN hours after his appointment!), a different groomer called to advise that he was now done, had no luck shaving his face because he moved a lot (???!!!!) and that'd I'd be charged an additional $30 for his matted fur (???!!!!). I immediately headed to pick him up from our family event. Upon pick up, neither his face or paws were done & I was provided a $145.00 bill. Yes, you're reading that correctly - $145.00 bill. (Keep in mind, $125 is the average cost for a full, adult Poodle Style & Groom.) My husband went in as I felt I was too upset to deal with this complete NONSENSE. The final result?... The Manager advised all he had authority to do was take $20 off the bill - "He's only the Store Manager, has to answer to the Owner and doesn't want to lose his job." He also threw in the "we provided doggy daycare" as if it wasn't offered due to their SEVEN HOUR MESS. My puppy was BATHED with NO SHAVE for $120 !!!!!!!!! I now have to take him to Pour La Pooch tomorrow to be actually groomed (and thankfully) will be charged 1/4 of the price. These people are not only a TOTAL RIP OFF, they are DISHONEST and incapable of shaving the face and feet of a puppy who has now had 6 weekly grooms. NEVER bringing my dog back and do NOT recommend this business. read more

After pointing out the issues we had, instead of trying to explain, make the situation right, or apologize (like any business should) the owner writes a response that is essentially invalid: 1. He calls out the 2 star review I wrote for a DIFFERENT Healthy Spot location in SF where I had an issue with the store and the issuance of a refund. My mention of Healthy Spot in this review is for the Beverly Blvd Healthy Spot and it is for their DAYCARE. IF you do use Danelle, please be grateful to have such a wonderful groomer with the kindest soul and most loving heart. She is TRULY an animal lover of not JUST dogs. She is also AMAZING with cats as well! People like her, much less groomers, are EXTREMELY RARE. ESPECIALLY in LA! When I drop my dog Olaf at day care or grooming, the most important thing is that I know he's going to be taken care of by people who love him. Janine grooms my two 20-ish pound pups. She is great with them and has even sent me a photo or two of my babies all soaped up in the tub looking happy as can be. In terms of cut, they always come out looking great. She will tailor their bath to any skin needs they may have as the weather changes.
