    Mint Hibiscus Lem
    Sabrina S.

Instagram brought me here! I had been dying to try Nigerian cuisine and this was the top rated location for Baltimore. It's a super casual spot. It seems most people order takeout but there are several tables to dine in and the cool thing is that they have some board games you can play while you wait (which may be a little while). Ola, the owner, is just as friendly and hospitable as he appears to be online. Here are the things we tried: Hibiscus Mint Lemonade 9/10 - Very similar to sorrel but the mint makes it stand out. Tasty! Meat Pie 8/10 - Think ground beef stuffed biscuit. Egusi (no protein) & Fufu 7/10 - The experience of eating this was fun! The stew was savory and flavorful but had a bitter aftertaste. If it weren't for the aftertaste I would have finished the bowl. Jollof Rice 100/10 - The real star of the show! I wanted to bust down this plate so bad but I'm "dieting". Once my diet is over, I'll be back for a LARGE side. Chicken Shawarma 8/10 - So it's made with chicken pieces and a chicken hotdog, which I did not know at the time I ordered. I've never had a hotdog in shawarma so I was hesitant. The wrap ended up being delicious, the chicken hotdog didn't mess it up but I don't think it was needed. Beef Suya 7/10 - The cooking style makes some parts tender, some parts crispy, and some parts chewy. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was all one texture. Also the pepper seasoning on top was a little heavy; it didn't make it spicy but it did give it a bite. I think I could have done with a little less or ordered it on the side so I could control it. Posi's Fries 9/10 - The actual fries were perfect!!!!!! The pepper seasoning was just a bit overpowering - again I'd order this in the side so I can control it. But the fry sauce was also pretty good; the best I can compare it to is a sweeter/thinner yum-yum sauce.

Absolutely love the place! Yummy matcha options like apple pie matcha and raspberry crème matcha with condensed milk. Lami was so sweet! Their beef shawarma is SO good, and the fact that it's halal blew me away.

The food was okay; it was well-seasoned. However, I've had authentic African food, and the spice (spiciness) wasn't there. The portions were a good size, and I could tell they take pride in plating. I ordered to-go, and everything was individually packaged, nice and neat. This 100% didn't cure my craving, so I'll have to make my way to Silver Spring sometime this week. Plantains - 5/10 Pounded yam - 9/10 Efo Riro spinach - 9/10 Posi's Jollof rice - 7/10 Fish stew - 8/10 Chicken stew - 7/10 If you do not like spicy food or would like to be introduced to African cuisine, this would be your place.

I came here on a Saturday evening a couple months ago. It was a rainy evening and pretty quiet, so the workers were pretty attentive and oh so friendly! The decor is really beautiful, and it's definitely a nice place to sit down with friends and family for a meal. The wait for food was a little long, but the food tasted great so it was worth the wait. I ordered the shrimp with jollof, and the shrimp suya had a flavorful sauce on it, and one of the owners mentioned it was their special sauce. I'm usually not used to sauce on suya shrimp but it was a good addition. Both the jollof and fried rice were flavorful and I would definitely order again!

I only wanted to try some jollof rice because I'm the search for the best jollof rice in the city! It was good and had a nice flavor to it. It's neat and clean here. The customer service here was cool. The guy was friendly. I will come back to try some other things from the menu.

I had been eying this afro-fusion restaurant for a few months...Went in on a Friday night closer to 9. We planned to dine in and ordered egusi, efo riro and swallow, jollof rice and fried plantain (dodo). They were spinning Afrobeats which I loved. We sat for about 20 mins and realizing no one else around us had food, decided to get takeout instead. They told us they'd call when it was ready but about 40 mins went by with no call. Finally we called and were told the food was ready. By then I was frustrated but then my anger melted away once I tasted the food. It was delicious! The egusi was flavorful and spicy, so was the efo riro. Get efo if you want more veggies (spinach forward). The jollof rice was BANGIN. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more food! But I would definitely plan for takeout and call ahead unless you want a nice leisurely experience.

Whole Tilapia. Very dry and not fresh tasting :( Tilapia

I went to Posi's earlier today and ordered a whole Tilapia and 2 sides for $30?! I've been prior for other entrees, and a friend has once gotten the Tilapia and shared with me a few years back. But I had no idea it was going to be $30. I was really excited because I felt that if I was paying $30, this tilapia was going to be amazing. I got it home and was very, very sad. The tilapia was fried so hard and as I continue to eat, it had such a fishy taste. It didn't taste like a fresh fish. I am very accustomed to African cuisine, and was super excited about this Tilapia. But I couldn't even get a 1/4 of the way through it. It was missing all the succulence of a whole cooked fish. I was so sad about how unpleasant it was to eat. It also comes with a cream sauce on it, that from the pictures always looked like WAY too much, so I asked for it on the side. In hindsight, maybe this sauce is used to deter from some of the downfalls of this fish. This review was not made lightly, I love supporting local businesses. The inside of the restaurant and ambiance is great. I enjoyed reading inside while I waited for my food. But, I am most likely not returning :/

Do too much and jollof rice
    Madhurima D.

Ordered 'Do too much' and jollof rice. Do too much came with white rice, meat in green chili curry and boiled egg and boiled plantains. Everything was delivered hot and well packed. Food was delicious! Loved the jollof rice and plantains. Green chili curry was a bit spicy for me, not too hot though.

Just moved to DMV with my fiancée and we have been missing authentic Nigerian food. Posi's kitchen is not only authentic but infused. It's Afro fusion that has kept its roots. The egg rolls were nice and crispy, the puff puff was sweet and sooo soft. The Ayamase (do to much) was delicious, flavorful and spicy. Just the way I like it. The customer service was amazing and they were so attentive. Will definitely be back! We were full but emptied the plate. Cant wait to see this place blow.

Our server AJ took great care of us- they were funny, attentive and very friendly. For restaurant week the menu honestly was fantastic with many options for every person's palate and dietary preferences. I went with the octopus appetizer, squid ink bucatini with calamari, and a pound cake with lemon curd and mint whipped cream. Every single thing I had was delicious. The octopus was grilled perfectly and tender and the bean puree and potato paired nicely. The pasta was umami and not too tomatoey or acidic. My pound cake was tasty with the tanginess of the curd pairing well with the whipped cream. My boyfriend enjoyed his mushroom soup, his mushroom bolognese rigatoni( i tried this, I would absolutely order this next time)and a decadent chocolate tart. I had the Kolhapuri Goat Curry & Gatlic this Naan bread, both of which are fantastic choices. The broth of the curry was nice and rich with a good level of spice, much of what a good curry should have. The goat itself had a bit more bones than I'd prefer, but overall even those were extremely tender & flavorful. Additionally I had used the Naan bread to help finish up the broth, which ended with a very satisfying comfort meal. The service & ambiance itself was also a pleasure. I personally prefer small establishments to avoid unnecessary noise while dining. Mix that with the incentive staff and you'll definitely enjoy yourself on your vist here, much like I did.
