They get to know you as locals and remember your name which is a nice touch.

I've only used this one a couple of times, but have recieved good service. Applying and checking of my passport application was made easy by the member of staff I was served by. Its exactly what you'd expect from the village post office - its run by a husband and wide team who have been in situ for as long as I can remember, they're always polite and friendly, and they know most people by name. As you might imagine, theres a Post Office counter which performs all the services of a regular Post Office. In addition to this theres another counter where you can buy an assortment of both the useful and the useless - sweets, cans of drink, greetings cards and various kinds of stationary are sold here. Its a little cramped in there - especially on pension day when the local pensioners fight it out amongst themselves to be first in the queue to get their money, and it still survives probably solely because of the Post Office counter, but its the kind of place the village would miss if it wasnt around any more.

The reasonably sized Post Office branch offers three cashier stations, although there tends to only ever be two cashiers on at one time. The place can be very busy at times and the queue slow moving, especially on benefits days and around lunchtime so I try to avoid these times whenever I can. The staff are always happy to help and don't seem to mind dealing with a number of eBay packages, which is nice when others make you feel like a bit of a burden.
