There is an advertising board which gives information about what's happening in the community and that is quite useful. This post office can get quite busy, especially in the morning but the staff work as quick as they can to get the queues down.

This…read moremorning I made a remark to the man serving at the counter who looked unusually tired, it was just gone 8.00 am so I remarked in what I thought was a humourous tone "Good morning you look how I feel" it was intended as an engaging socially humerous greeting. I was met with a lecture about how not to be judgemental - he was clearly very offended by my remark. I immediately appologised unconditionally saying I was just trying to be humerous, his response was to continue to give me a lecture on being none judgemental. He went one to say he did not like customers remarking to him that he should smile more (I have never said that to him thank goodness). The service is always pretty quick even when busy but this is not the sort of customer experience I expected from who I believe is the owner or manager of the business. When I was in retail it was standard to greet customers with a smile not to make them feel they have been offensive when no offence or judgement was intended. I am grateful there was not a queue behind me, he wasn't playing to an audience. I consider myself an empathetic sensitive self-aware person sadly my response will be to avoid using that particular Post Office whenever possible in the future.

The reasonably sized Post Office branch offers three cashier stations, although there tends to only ever be two cashiers on at one time. The place can be very busy at times and the queue slow moving, especially on benefits days and around lunchtime so I try to avoid these times whenever I can. The staff are always happy to help and don't seem to mind dealing with a number of eBay packages, which is nice when others make you feel like a bit of a burden.

I told him I was not interested. Then he asked me for my number and told he he can just show his boss that he is actually trying to sell papers and at least he will be getting some credit. Lapse of judgment, I gave him my number. To make a long story short, our apt building started to receive the paper once a week. Then I get a renewal invoice from Mercury News. I called the Mercury Newspaper and found out a email was created, start a new subscription, an email that I NEVER CREATED!!!! Furious, I told the rep that this is fraud and identity theft. furthermore, I wanted a email confirmation from them stating they closed the account and what actions do they plan to take on this individual. They stated they will get back to me in 2 days. We will see.

They also sell a decent range of cards, soft drinks, gifts, confectionery, local maps (town plans), etc. The staff are friendly and efficient, so although Mercury News is always busy, there's never much of a queue. The Post Office is a fairly sizeable branch situated at the back of the shop. They do all the jobs you expect a post office to do, posting parcels, car tax, premium bonds, passports etc, and the staff are much like in the newsagent, good natured, but efficient. This one probably has the biggest variety of stock and is in the westfield centre for convenience. The layout is quite simple and everything seems to be in a relevant place although the shopping aisles seem a little small and the shelves are usually packed very fully. The staff are not that friendly and i wouldn't really want a conversation with them anyway. They just want to get the queue down as quick as they can which is very efficient but not very customer friendly. This shop always seems to be extremely busy and it is hard to get around. There is a policy in this store: If the till operator does not give you a receipt, go to the manager and they will give you £5. Sounds good but they will always give you a receipt. The prices are very good and they offer some brill brands for the price that they offer. It is also useful when you don't have much cash and fancy a cheap drink. Probably the cheapest place in westfield.

It is like my new favourite hang out as I know that whatever I need I am bound to find it in there. For instance, I have discovered Mr Muscle Frozen Lime and Vinegar wipes. They would probably be about £2 in Wilkinsons and they clean anything and everything for just 99p.They also sell 2litre bottles of Pepsi for 79p. I also bought a mop and bucket for 99p each. The best thing about the 99p store compared to the £shops is the variety of lines and there is so much more choice especially with the food and confectionery aisles. Just think if you spend £10 a week in Poundland then go to the 99p store and save 10p a week and those pennies will mount up :) Back to the reviewIt is well laid out with plenty of room to get round up and down the aisles with the major plus being the till staff. They are all very polite. They always say Hello and Goodbye and Please and Thank you and they are very fast. The queues go down very quickly without fuss. Also they are trained to give you a receipt every time so if they don't, you can go to the manager and he will give you a fiver!
