This place will scam you do not go there. They try charging you 50 to 300% more on USPS mail. They do not allow you to ship over 16 oz ground advantage which is against USPS rules and charge you to get the tracking number on priority Mail extra which is against USPS rules. I went to the post office after they tried charging me $37 on something that cost $11.... And previously had tried charging me $379 on international mail that cost me 71 at post office . I understand having to make a little extra but this place scams you and takes advantage of people who don't know better and then we'll lie to you about policies from USPS ..... read more

Whenever I'm visiting Baltimore and need to ship, pack, copy, fax, print, or even get a notary, this is the place. In the course of 4 years, every single time I've gone in, the staff here has always been friendly and eager to help. I recently brought in stereo equipment I needed to ship cross country. I had 2 speakers, each weighing 45lbs, and 2 other boxes. Even though she was busy, she took the time to price out whether FedEx or UPS would be cheaper. The space is small, customers are plenty, but the staff never gets overwhelmed or cranky. The USPS could learn something here about customer service!! They have everything you need and more packing supplies , shipping supplies and they process items for usps , ups and FedEx and probably others that I didn't inquire about. Friendly, helpful, reliable. I've been going to The Postal Secretary for some time. I can rely on them to help me find the best shipping solution in cost, time and packaged not to break. I can ship US mail, UPS or Fedex. You can also make copies there and use a computer and they have a notary public. I just started using a mail box with them and they can receive packages for me. I only marked them down a star for not taking Amex, and yes, they are a bit more expensive than the regular mail options but I figure the convenience and accommodations balances everything out. This is the absolute best place for your postal needs. I've been going here for years and the customer service is better than any place I've ever gone before. The staff actually welcomes you with warm greetings as they verbally acknowledge your entering. From computer, copy, print, fax, stamps, UPS, USPS, FEDEX, need a box and even print from your phones email. As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a smile by two of the nicest, kindest, informative postal representatives and instantly your concerns/questions are answered. I was way overcharged for the postage when I came to mail packages. I checked the pricing online afterwards and I was shocked at the price difference. They did not offer any alternative options and just quoted a very high price. I was charged over $20 for a package that I could have sent for less than $12. read more

Postal Secretary is convenient to use ONLY when the post office is closed but is otherwise don't bother. They are VERY OVERPRICED. I think the thing that really bothers me is that they deliberately mislead their customers and won't tell you how much extra they charge on top of the USPS. Don't go here, over charge for package that they don't even know the original price from post office. I use priority flat mail often because it is same price regardless of weight as long as it fits in envelope. I used the smallest envelope that doesn't have window, they charged me 7.95+tax, i asked nicely why it is so high rate now, the person working there at that time told me it's because postal office increased so much. I doubted but i didn't search right away, which i should have done using my Iphone. came home and curiosity got me, just went online and checked official usps website, it was 5.15 only and bigger one was 5.30 only. what's more surprises me is they charge same price for different sized of envelopes that are all under 5.something dollar. and when i called the office and talked about the price difference, the assistant manager didn't even know if they charge more(they are saying they are privately owned) or if that's the post office does. she sound more like "i don't care becuase i'm not gonna help you anyway". Well, you should have known better, and rude attitude like that to a customer who been nice and calm is just so unprofessional, and Either way whoever is charging, they still are responsible for not telling me that's not the original price from post office especially after I asked several times. I put 1 star because there is no 0 star. unless you have too much money to spend to people like this, don't go here. I am working in health care field, get a lot of stress but i never gave attitude like that to customers. Fortunately I am able to be professional and not to be rude. I would reccomend this place for your shipping needs unless money is not a concern to you. I had a USPS small flat rate box which they wanted $8.80 to send. I didn't even bother asking how much my other package cost to send, as I went to the good old post office where I spent $5.80 to send my small flat rate box. Just so everyone is aware....the Postal Secretary seriously overcharges. In the past I have used them for mostly drop offs or buying stamps and the people are very nice. However today I mailed a priority mail flat rate box and they upped the price by 40%. I questioned why it was so high and was merely told that was the rate - not that they add a $5 service charge etc. When I got home and realized the rate was really significantly lower than their charge I called and they were not helpful. I understand they are a private business and need to stay open but they need to have more transparency and let the customers know when they add fees, especially after I questioned the price. Furthermore a 40% increase on a flat rate mailing seems absurdly high. I will not use them again and advise others not to as well. read more
