This is probably the wrost UPS store in our area. THey are not friendly at all and they seem to be unhappy with they job. When you sent out a package, they would not give a receipt. When asked they wanted you to scan the shipping label, he was unhappy to walk to got the receipt. This is not the first time it happened. Shady activities going on here. I went here to drop off a prepaid box with an expensive device to return to the manufacturer and the manufacturer informed me the box returned empty. I asked the person at the desk for a scan receipt when I dropped it off, but he would not give me one and basically dismissed me. This is not helping with the proof because I already have the tracking number. They don't even scan it there and then. People working they are unfriendly. Now the one guy that is still there - Steve is extremely rude. Has an attitude problem and does not care about customers. I have heard from many community members that he is dismissive of customers. I had the worst customer interaction with the South Asian looking lady with long hair (not sure how else to ID this person) today. I dropped a package in the Redwood Shores location more than 10 days ago and it hasn't showed up in UPS tracking yet. I called UPS and the store prior and no one knows where the package is. The store claimed the box had been picked up and it isn't there. Fast forward to this afternoon, I dropped by the store to see if I can file a claim (following the instructions on the UPS website since I dropped it off there). While waiting in line I looked around to see if the box I had dropped off was still there. After I got to the front of the line, I explained my situation to a male employee but this girl kept interrupting me, telling me I had to take it up to UPS, and "we are very familiar with the situation" before I could finish explaining or even show them my tracking number. The worst part was she said I looked suspicious because I was looking at their boxes while standing in place waiting in line. Lady, this is not how you talk customers and again don't talk to them like they are stupid. I am never going back to this location. Drop off any package AT YOUR OWN RISK because they just tell you to leave it at the table. There's no scan and no receipt, no record of you dropping it off. Over 10 years.... Excellent service. I recommend them to my friends and clients. I have been saved a number of times by them when I needed things to go smoothly and fast to meet deadlines..... I get good explanations of what I don't understance and given the options that fit my situation, (in person or over the phone). I've moved a number of times... but I keep my mail going there. It is a long story about how I needed to send a package to Australia but, to summarize, I found the employees of this store to not only be rude, but also incompetent. Upon arrival into the store, the person who was identified as the owner was rude, gruff, and dismissive with me. This was before I even started speaking about wanting to send my package to Australia. (I should have walked out at this point). I went ahead and sent the box with them, but it was later returned due to a lack of information on the slip which they filled out. I then needed to expedite the package, so I took the package and dealt directly with DHL and got it sent for about 1/3 of the price I paid the annex. The annex refused a refund so my CC company had to get involved. The reason why I write and will never go back is their extremely poor customer service. I found this behavior appalling and will never use the services of this store again. read more

Till some time ago, it was a good service. A couple of guys were employed there; they only had a few words but were efficient and doing their job. Sometimes, they spared a smile, but it was okay and a convenient location. Then, something changed. I saw new employees, especially a girl, have rude attitudes, rough approaches, insulting words, and low quality of service. Just walked into this store trying to drop off a package. There were a few people ahead of me. The only employee in the store was brazenly not wearing a mask. Not like: she had a mask but it didn't cover her nose. No mask was anywhere in sight. It actually took me a minute to realize what was happening. There was a family with a small child, and then an older customer. And nothing. No mask was worn by the rep and for good measure the door to the store was closed to eliminate ventilation. Before the pandemic, I only came here once, and it seemed fine. However, now I come every other week or so. Now, I can't imagine not coming here in the future. I send out packages to my family. Sometimes I need extra stamps. Occasionally, I'll need to send a return through Fedex or USPS. Lately, I've needed extra boxes and envelops. I visited this location last month and after giving some thought, I'm writing to warn others about the unpleasant male employee and the untrustworthy practices of this location. Please beware as the male employee will answers only with sarcastic remarks when asking perfectly reasonable questions. He does not care to provide service. He will instead try to belittle the customer with his remarks. The sarcastic remarks without an actual resolution to the issue makes him come across as someone who thinks more highly of himself than he actually is. It's unfortunate that they continue to employ him as it seems a theme within many of the reviewers posted. In terms of untrustworthy practice, this is not a safe location to leave your packages. When you enter the store there are boxes spilling onto the floor near the front entrance. Boxes left out by front of store attract thieves and it cannot be trusted not to be walked off with. Employees will not bring your package to be secured to the back where it is not visible to thieves. Instead customers are advised to leave the package on the counter top at the entrance. Add to this, the store will not provide a receipt for a prepaid package dropped off (very questionable practice overall.) There are plenty of other friendly and helpful shipping providers who will securely store your package away from eyes and provide a receipt promptly. read more

These folks are my life saver. With the pandemic, I've had lots of packages to mail out and in the beginning, it was an adjustment getting to know the process of sending out large packages, type of service, and I have slight hearing loss. So it was difficult for me to understand what they were saying. Because I have so many packages, it's helpful that I can just send them a list so that they can type my labels and have them ready for me to pick up or slap on when I bring my packages. It's a lot easier than going to the post office where they weigh, measure and start telling me all the different/adidtional costs things will be once I pass a certain measurement. With postal annex, they type my labels, weight my packages, and I just drop them off. Sure you pay a little extra, but you get the best service! They have definitely made my life easier and I'm so glad they are there for me! read more

I've been to the Postal Annex in Redwood Shores several times now. I work in the area and found out about this place when a coworker wanted to drop off some mail at this location. Ever since then, I've been handling all of my mail/shipping needs here. As others have mentioned, the prices may be a little higher here, however, it saves me from having to go to the local post office which I hate having to do. John has assisted me on each of my visits here and has been very friendly and helpful. read more

The son yelled at me, told me to get out and that I didn't know what I was talking about. They are apparently unaware of the new FedEx/USPS or UPS/USPS joint shipping ventures and told me I was totally wrong when I explained this. It says USPS on the label but it's a FedEx drop off. If you take it to the Post Office yourself it will not work. He kept saying that they've been "doing this for nine years". Yeah, but USPS hasn't been broke and casting about for cash for the last nine years. Maybe not all of your customers are idiots, yanno? You might want to learn how to take these labels! This place consistently serves up the suck. I completely, 100% agree with Brian and Michael's reviews. This place is a total scam. I have been there three times. Three times I have not shipped anything with them. Why? No clue. "Oh, that quote you got from the USPS website? Yeah, that's not accurate. Here, use FedEx and pay 3x the price!" -- That is pretty much what it has boiled down to each time I come there. The latest time was today - I went there to ship something internationally. They immediately give me the stink eye about how you can't ship certain things to places and hand me a sheet with stuff on there about not being able to ship certain things to places. Great. Then I say "I'd like to ship this USPS and I got a quote for $40 online." In response I get "that's not an accurate quote. FedEx is the best way to get it there." "Umm... OK... how much?" "$140" "Thanks, I'll see you later." As I'm walking out with the print out about not being able to ship certain things to certain places the guy behind the counter runs out yelling "stop! you have my paper!!" as if it were gold plated and not a $0.01 copy he made. I dropped off my prepaid package (FedEx label) at the Postal Annex+ store at 274 Redwood Shores Pwky, Redwood City, CA, yesterday. I asked for a receipt. A staff asked me to write down my email address on a sticky note and put on my package and said a digital receipt would be later sent to my email. I requested him to enter my email address in system first (when I was there) to avoid typo. (I expressed that my last bad experience was i never got a confirmation email after package drop off. ) The guy declined my request with an excuse given that FedEx has their own system and that they were unable to enter my information until FedEx truck arrives. What a lie was given to custome! Another staff who was younger was also available because I was the only customer in the store. Both staff (male) looked at me without doing anything. I asked when the FedEx truck would arrive usually. The staff said around 1 or 2 pm. I had to leave without having time to other FedEx locations. 10 minutes later, I got an email from the Postal Annex confirming my package drop off. I felt relieved as they didn't lose my package. My family tell me never go to use this store which lied, and it is not reliable and not professional. Today I dropped off a package at a FedEx official location in San Mateo. They gave me a receipt immediately. After hearing my two bad experiences in Redwood Shores, they told me not to go there. Good luck to other customers. I have gone to this place twice and both times were a bust. The first time, I needed to print out a document. Well to print there you have to first email the document to postal annex, which I did. I then stood around for ten minutes waiting for the email to arrive only to be told that they could not open the attachment. A total waste of time. The next visit was even worse. I needed to drop off a package to be picked up by UPS. I called ahead of time to make sure they accepted UPS packages for drop off. When I arrived there were two customers already there, both of whom were being served by the two people working there. I waited ten minutes for the postal annex employees to complete the seemingly simple tasks of completing fed ex envelope shipments. When it was finally my turn to receive service, I asked to leave the package for UPS pick up. I then asked for a receipt for the drop off. The counter person said they don't give receipts. I asked why and he became somewhat belligerent and advised me that if I wanted a receipt I could take my package to UPS, and that they were not obligated to accept UPS drop offs. I was taken aback by his attitude. Needless to say, I will never go in that place again. read more
