In my search for a termite inspection, I called about 3 companies and Yelp sent to another 5. Within 10 mins after my call to POW-Bug Squad, I received a call back from Andrew, the company owner. They were able to inspect within a week. Since I make it a point to get 3 quotes, the other 2 companies that responded were also very courteous and was able to come out to inspect within 24-48 hours. Their price was competitive, their knowledge and recommendations on options were thorough and clear, however I still wanted to wait until Bug Squad could inspect, to see if they were in line with my pricing & scheduling needs, since i was having my roof repaired within a week thereafter and i had to have fumigation and wood repairs done by Oct 12th. Fast forward, Josh came out to inspect and was so knowledgeable and informed me of my options and did not sway me one way or another but allowed us to make a decision and assured that they would accommodate as best as possible. My choice to go with Bug Squad was first.... the 10 min response time from Andrew, second the staff who made the inspection appointment were so nice, pleasant, and truly knows what customer service means! [Review is only for a phone call consultation, not for service] Called POW! for a possible bird mite infestation consultation. I'm not a pest expert but found some little brown/red mites crawling around our bedroom, coming in from outside and needed professional help. The positive was that they were immediately available the following day to do the service. Downside is they don't come and provide a consultation in person. She told me the price, $180 for bird mites and $80 for each subsequent treatment and $400 and a subsequent $300 for bed bugs. Per my description, the girl on the phone said it's likely to be bed bugs. From my own research, bed bugs are a lot bigger than bird mites and I was pretty sure that it was bird mites due to two bird nests we found outside our window. I asked her... what if they come and treat for bed bugs but it turns out to be bird mites, then that? She said... that the technicians come and provide the service. I didn't want to end up paying $700 for bed bugs when I had bird mites so I called and canceled. For the record, another company came, took a sample and looked at the bug under the microscope and identified it to be bird mites. read more

Believe the reviews before hiring them, I tried to give them a chance, called them a couple of times and after 3 visits my problem is still the same, NOT A SINGLE TRAP worked and my problem is worse now than 3 weeks ago. I asked for my money back but no contact back yet. Also, they don't seem to care if your problem got better or not. They will be very nice to you in the beginning, the guy that came out said its $60 and he recommends a monthly visit, SMH Why would you say you can take care of a problem and then come up with stuff like this, DEF don't recommend. read more

Then we have a dozen or so pop up here and there. They scheduled another service promptly. No more major sightings so far. POW should not be used by anyone wanting good inspection reports. We had a report from 2015 showing only issues on our back patio cover and nothing for the house. They charged us full price in 2017 and 2018 for complete home inspections but never delivered any reports. When I called to ask they said I should talk to the inspector. When I spoke to the inspector, he said they only deliver written reports when there are problems that need fixing. Now, we are selling our home and the buyer's termite inspection has found all kinds of issues and we will need to spend more than $5,000 to fix all the things that POW couldn't find, as recently as April, 2018. It all started well... Pow! was the third company to provide an estimate on what needed to be done to repair a lot of termite- and rot-infested wood fascia, etc, around our home. While not the cheapest of the three, we selected Pow! based on our understanding of their promised work and the recommendation of an acquaintance. Andy's team arrived on the expected day. After removing much of the infested wood, another employee arrived to spray termite killer into the remaining wood as a preventive measure. This is when things started to go awry. This employee complained to us that too much had been removed. He sprayed around the front of the garage and said he would come back to spray the rest after everything had been painted. It has been three weeks and no one from Pow! has come back to finish spraying. Meanwhile, the employees working on the wood didn't join the fascia board together correctly with Bondo to deter termites from re-entering there and make a "seamless-looking" joint, didn't sand the Bondo areas sufficiently, didn't cut the ends of the wood straight so the outlooker beams were left at weird angles, neglected to prime (thereby protect) one of their cuts of the fascia boards so termites can easily penetrate there, etc, and they broke at least a dozen of our roof tiles. Then denied it. Although Andy and two of his employees came back after we explained our dissatisfaction, he made it clear their work was "up to standard." Andy told the two employees to do what we told them to do and he left. Ummm... if we knew how to do termite repair work and prevention, we would not have hired a professional company. Nevertheless, we paid the not-inexpensive bill in full and did our best to fix the most obvious botches. For example, my husband added a 2x4 behind one of the Pow! installed new fascia boards because one of the boards had twisted completely apart - after less than one week. We do NOT recommend Pow! They sent out another tech who did an amazing job both inside and outside my house twice! The company didn't need to do the inside, or do it a second time to make sure my issue was resolved. I had bug squad come to my house for a free inspection because I thought I had termites. Andrew Sickmeier came over, took a look at my property and let me know it was just crickets. He let me know he could spray my property, but I refused because I don't like to kill beneficial/harmless insects in my backyard. He did not try to sell me anything extra and this combined with his honesty truly deserves a 5 star review. We have had other pest control companies come to our property (door to door) try to pressure us into buying their packages, so after my experience with Bug squad I feel I can trust them. I will definitely be calling next time I need an exterminator. read more

If I could give this company negative stars for poor customer service, I would! I bought an amazon local voucher for ant extermination. When the worker showed up (I didn't get his name, but he was a thin Caucasian man), I asked him to exterminate the exterior of my house, which he did very quickly. I asked if there was any warranty and he told me, "You only paid $39 and you expect a warranty?" I was left speechless by his poor attitude and rudeness. The voucher also included a free termite inspection, but he left without performing this service for me. The exterior extermination was completely ineffective in getting rid of my ants, in fact the problem seemed to get worse! I I might as well have just used Raid and sprayed it outside myself! I would not recommend this company to anyone! If they are unable to treat their customers courteously, they shouldn't expect any repeat business. I will be looking elsewhere for my future bug and pest related needs. read more

Beware of this Company! I spoke to the Owner, Andy, and explained that we needed Pest Control service for an ant problem. He quoted $120, which I agreed to pay. Years ago, we had a Gopher Problem. The gophers had not been a problem recently, but the holes they left were still there. Since we were planning to put in Artificial Turf, I asked the Owner to have a technician check out the holes that were left by the gophers, just to make sure there were no more gophers. We never discussed the price for treating Gophers, since I did not think we needed the treatment; I just wanted to confirm that the gophers were no longer there. When the technician came, he began to spray the yard without knocking on the door and speaking to me. By the time he came to the door to let me know he was there and treat the house for the ants, he had already sprayed for Gophers and charged me additional $255. I paid a total $375, since he had already sprayed for Gophers. 2-3 days after they had sprayed for ants, the ants returned. I called them and Nicole answered and said that since their Technician was coming to spray for Second Round for Gophers the following Friday, she will have him spray for ants as well. When the Technician arrived, he had no idea that he was supposed to spray for ants, but he agreed to spray for ants also. The ants were back again later that same day. So I called again and Nicole said that she would speak to Marc to set up traps and have the Technician come the following Friday but the Technician never came. I called the office that Friday to ask when the Technician was coming to spray for Ants. A man answered who told me Nicole was unavailable but he will have the Technician call me. No one ever called or showed up. The following Monday, I called and asked for Nicole but the man who answered said that she was unavailable and that he will have a Technician call me. Again No Called. At this point, the $120 service I requested has cost me $375, the original ant problem is still unresolved and no one is returning my calls. I see Ants almost every day in my kitchen with No Help from this Company. Do Not Trust or Do Business With This Company. My next step is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

If you got honey bee problem do NOT call bee removal companies and do not try to exterminate them yourself. They are very dangerous! I tried all sort of safe repellents like dishwasher liquid or peppermint. They won't work! They had nested under my roof eaves and inside the roof structure and their nest was growing bigger fast everyday so I called all sorts of bee removal companies. They said they will safely remove the hives and relocate the bees after cutting open my roof and destroying the boards, rafters and shields and make sure to take good care of the bees!!! I asked what about my roof will you put it back together? They said NO we don't do roofs!!! You have to call roofers which costs thousands to fix that mess! What a joke!! Thanks but no thanks! Those companies care more for the bees than the customers!! So I called Bug Squad and they used some sort of safe repellent that made them go away! I did not find any dead bees on the ground they all packed up and left in 24 hours! Awesome job! These folks came so quickly and delivered the best and the most efficient solution keeping both the customers and bees happy! Well done! read more

I needed to have a termite inspection done ASAP to complete a refi for my home. While I couldn't get them out on my preferred day, when they came to my property, they very quick and thorough. Inspected and treated for minor termite damage on day 1 and did repairs to affected areas on day 2. Here's the best part; they were much less expensive than the other termite/bug exterminators. Josh came to give me a free inspection on my termite situation and wood repair for termite damage. He was very approachable and gave a good price as well. He walked through the process and explained all the areas where the wood needs to be replaced vs repair. We had the woodwork scheduled a week earlier than termite. He fell sick and could complete half the wood work. He brought rest of the wood to be fumigated as well. He kept his word and came back to finish all the wood work that was agreed upon. He did some quality inspection and redid some of the work as well. Cindy from the front office was very responsive and did not have any communication issues at all. We had recently used POW! to do the fumigation in our newly purchased home. They had responded within the hour and called to set an appointment for an estimate. Once they arrived (on time I might add) they walked through our home and around the perimeter to make sure all areas could be addressed. Later that day we received their estimate which was very competitive with other providers that we received quotes from. Finally they showed up at 5:00pm Three young kids , when they tenting my house they not even tent the garage so the neighbors called me and let me know, when get there they already left ,the garage door open and the garage panel damagedI callMars again I ask him why they didn't tenting my garage ? He told me not enough space. I told him there is 1 foot space recorded contact paper he told they changed they need 3 feet space and he told me he go to manually spray the garage and (he not even come to my house do it still today ). I paid them to fumigate service not manually and ask what about my garage door you fixing it here what he told you should call the south woods termite and complain to them (WTF) I told him had contact with you not them.
