Best Experience Ever - Recommend 100%! When we needed a new roof, we went the usual route of crossing our fingers, asking for recommendations from friends and neighbors, and endlessly searching through online reviews. After weeks of narrowing it down to three companies, meeting with their representatives, and obtaining estimates, we chose Powell Roofing. James Powell, owner of Powell Roofing, impressed us. He took time to answer all of our questions--he explained the merits of different materials and warranties, the steps involved in the installation, crew members' responsibilities, necessary permits, liability insurance, pricing, and the estimated time that it would take to fully complete the job--everything we needed to know to make the best decision. We had already done some research and we were leaning towards Landmark CertainTeed Pro shingles. As it turned out, James Powell is certified as a Select Shingle Master by CertainTeed; to put that in perspective, Select Shingle Masters meet the roofing industry's most stringent credentialing requirements and are in the top 1% of their profession. That sealed the deal for us. We scheduled the work for three days in early February of 2020. Because our home is contemporary in style, with multiple levels of roofs and skylights, we were a bit skeptical about whether it could actually be completed that quickly. Crew Supervisor Bradley Warner met with us at the start of each day and reviewed the work schedule, including the timing of the lunch break and the scheduled close of the work day, which was very helpful and showed respect for our time. Bradley was on-site all day, every day, working alongside the crew. The entire crew--men and women--showed amazing teamwork in the installation, which proved to be a big factor in keeping a complex job like ours on schedule. Then, at the close of each day, they would walk the perimeter of the house to find and remove any roofing-related debris, including using a magnetized tool to locate metal fragments--paying close attention to the area around our pool. In our experience, a company that demonstrates that level of care and concern for property is rare. James Powell continued to check in with us and his crew every day via phone and text. He would ask us if we had any questions and if we were pleased with the progress, which of course we were. We were actually amazed at how smoothly it all went over the three days that we were promised and that's because everyone on the team--from James Powell to his project supervisor and crew--really delivered. The end result, not surprisingly, is a gorgeous, well-built, long-lasting roof that has greatly enhanced our home's protection and curb appeal. Neighbors have since made a point of stopping by to compliment the work and to ask for the roofer's information. In the nearly 15 years that we have lived in our home, and after numerous home improvement projects by local companies large and small, this is the first time that we can recommend a company 100% without hesitation--they were that good. read more

My husband and I were so excited to find a roofing company that does excellent work. As part of the Building Committee at the Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church he was asked to find a roofing company to replace the roof. The church has had several local companies do repairs or not complete repairs on the roof. Powell Roofing gave a great price and the work is excellent. Extra repairs were needed at a very small charge. It was great to see what a professional company can do. Roof looks great, did repairs and clean up. It is very unusual to have a company keep in touch with you while they are doing the job. This is an A+++++++++++++++++++ company. I loved the entire process. Getting the quote was impressive. James Powell stopped by my house and inspected my roof. The quote followed with a complete description of everything he was proposing. The first roofing company I have ever used that installed a double boot on the PVC pipes. The team of 9-10 guys and gals came at 8:30 and finished the job at 4:00. Everyone had a role, cleaners, installers, cleaning off the old shingles, adding the extra waterproofing, flashing, etc. It was very impressive to see a team work so well together. Powell Roofing was referred to me by a realtor friend and they did a great job. Richard, the estimator, was punctual, friendly and professional and the estimate was in line with the insurance adjustment. Once the contract was signed, the crew came out a week later per schedule and completed the roof replacement in two days. The work was to a higher standard than the original roof and included features that the original roof lacked. Powell roofing came out to my house to check on my roof. I wasn't sure how old it was and when I'd need to replace it. Instead of taking the opportunity to convince me I need a new roof, they told me my roof was in good shape and will not need replacing for a couple years.
