I'm so glad I found Inn on Main. It has such a charm and personality. A huge difference in the quality of service and value compared to what you expect from a typical small town Hotel. We stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon for dinner, and right off the bat let the staff know we were looking for a gluten free option. They were able to accommodate this (for an extra fee, about $3) and hand make a personal pan pizza with toppings of your request. We certainly weren't expecting it to be as big or as good as it was either! We did not ask, though, if the gluten free pies were all you can eat as we only ordered the one. As for the regular buffet, it is smaller compared to Gatti's past but still had enough options to satisfy my nostalgia, the food tasted just as I remembered, which for me was fantastic. Heck, even the plates are just like I remember! When we arrived there weren't too many people, but I can definitely see if the place was full (the movie room, the sports room, and the cafe) how the buffet would be far too small to accommodate the masses. But when not at capacity, there is no issue. The staff were kind and attentive, and the game room was surprisingly fun! Also small, but has enough variety to make it worth it. Going up to the prize counter was just as exciting as it was when I was a kid! This was such a fun little treat to find and I had a great time!

The shrimp and sausage on everything were perfectly cooked, the boudin balls were fresh and crispy on the outside w a delicious remoulade. Get the Cajun butter for the shrimp, potatoes, and corn! Call first...they are open until they sell out. If you want a more detailed version, keep going. ;-) On our way home from fishing at the coast, we stopped for a late lunch with my daddy. We saw this place last time we were in town, and being the crawfish lovers we are, wanted to try it. Needless to say we were super happy they were open today. Four of us showed up with an ice chest (it's BYOB), ready to roll up our sleeves. They only have outside seating on white plastic picnic tables. Most tables are under a large canopy, but some are in the sun. We were lucky to get under the tent AND it was a pleasant day. You go up to the window and order, sit down and they bring your food. We got a shrimp boil (served in a white clamshell) and six pounds of crawfish (served in double plastic bags inside a big paper bag) . They provide you with boxes for the shells, plenty of paper towels and wet wipes. We loved the set up, people were friendly, great vibe of folks...but we were most concerned with crawfish. We love crawfish, have our own boils, and we're picky. There are only a handful of places we really like in the Austin area, so I was admittedly a little skeptical. Holy mud bugs...the FLAVOR!! After a few bites, we picked up on what was a tad different than our normal crawfish...mustard. Yup...mustard! Don't freak! It was subtle, played well with all the other flavors and we LOVED it. So much we ordered three more pounds AND we're playing with our recipe to incorporate it. They don't offer different spice levels, but no need...the flavor was absolutely perfect with just the right amount of kick. We ordered with potatoes, corn and sausage...worth the extra $. Sausage was VERY good! We're already planning on making it back to Victoria before the end of crawfish season. I typed this on our way back to Austin and the amount of time we've spent talking about what we ate is a great indication of how much we loved it! So go... suck some heads and pinch some tails.
