I thought you could call an office with your health insurance information and get a estimate of how much the office visit would be so you are not surprised by some crazy bill after the fact. I guess that is not the case with this office. Good luck for those that like to gamble. read more

I met Dr Powers associate, Dr Northcutt, at IU Bloomington Hospital and he performed surgery on my foot. Dr Northcutt is an associate of Dr Powers. Dr Powers staff in Bloomington is extremely helpful and caring. I am pleased with the healing process he has laid out for me. He takes seriously my foot and ankle needs. Give them a try. read more

Everything about my visit was good--from the friendliness of the staff to the knowledge and skills of the doctor. My pinky toe had been so painful I couldn't wear normal shoes. The corn/blister buildup was cleaned up and dressed and I was good to go. I'll return if I have other foot issues. read more

Dr. Powers is a great doctor. There's a reason my daughter and I go there and it was a no brainer when my grandma needed a podiatrist that I didn't hesitate to send her to Dr.Powers over who my NP recommended. The staff is so friendly and they treat you like an actual customer which is the way it should be because you are. He has great bedside manner and I always have 110% confidence in his diagnosis! read more

Very bad experience! Would say 0 stars if possible. Poked me with a needle several times while attempting to find "the problem" Made my ankle swell up then asked me to "walk around the parking lot awhile" to see what would happen. Any dr that needs to show you videos of their success stories (which he did) after touring you thru his office pointing out his "wall of fame" (also done) is not worth your money or time!!!!! read more

Dr. Powers staff was great and did a good job in explaining what to expect and my visit was timely....no wait. The doctor himself was to the point and made the corrections needed and I was very satisfied. I plan on going back to have additional work done soon. I would totally recommend him. read more

We made an appointment with Dr Powers for my wife at their Bedford location. When we drove down there from Bloomington, we were told that they did not have our information and that our appointment was earlier that day; it was not. We rescheduled the appointment for the next week and we arrived just on time. As soon as we arrived, we let them know that we need to fill out some paperwork; they said ok. They waited fifteen minutes to get back to us and said we should have arrived fifteen minutes earlier to do the paperwork. We told them we have been waiting there for that amount of time and if they gave us the paperwork, we could have done by now. They wanted us to come back another time. So that meant two trips for us half an hour drive each way wasted. I do not think they need any more patients because they just don't care. They could easily see us in both of those occasions. We do not recommend Dr Powers based on our experience. read more

I had the surgery & 4 months later I was in more pain than I had been before & could barely walk. The surgery was botched & to this day September 2021, my ankle is permanently swollen & I'm in constant pain. I've tried braces, compression hose, physical therapy, exercises & none of these have relieved my pain. Any new podiatrist I see says there is no fix to my problem but I'm still searching. I'm 71 years young & the only bad pain I have is my ankle otherwise I would feel great. Do your homework & really weigh the odds before having this type of surgery. I do not recommend it or Dr. Olgesby as the podiatrist of choice.

I've also used them for primary care for a long time. IU Health is a beast that should be avoided at all costs. Monroe can handle X-rays, MRIs and a number of other services. The building size is modest, which is great for people like me who can't walk very far comfortably. They are always friendly, and the NPs I've used for my primary care have been fantastic. The pain was so intense I genuinely thought I was going to die. After an EKG, my experience went downhill. An older male staff member undressed me with the door open, compromising my privacy. He then attempted to draw blood. It was extremely painful -- I was screaming and crying -- and when he forcefully pulled the needle out, I told him I could not tolerate another attempt and asked for someone else. He told me that if I refused him, I would "be waiting in pain." I then laid in a room for over an hour and fifteen minutes crying, moaning, and vomiting from the pain. No one checked on me. Staff were laughing and joking in the hallway while I was in visible distress. When I pressed the call button, it took several minutes for someone to respond. I told the nurse I was in unbearable pain and that something was seriously wrong. I was told, "I'm not going to listen to you complain," and he walked out. I left immediately and went to IU Health Bloomington Hospital. There, I was treated right away. An ultrasound showed my gallbladder was swollen with stones. My white blood cell count and liver levels were elevated. I required pain medication, nausea medication, further imaging, and may now need admission and possible surgery. This was a serious medical emergency. The lack of urgency, compassion, and professionalism at Monroe Hospital could have resulted in severe complications. No patient in that level of pain should be dismissed, humiliated, or ignored.

(my hygienist in California was very chatty and it's hard to answer questions with sharp instruments in your mouth). There is a tv on the ceiling so you can watch while you have your cleaning. Courtney caught on fast that the show on the History channel was about mass murderers (not a very calming show) and she switched the channel to ESPN for me. Next Dr Arnold (Bill) came in and introduced himself. He was great. Very down to earth and approachable. We chatted a bit about California and then he began his exam. Again, great exam and he gave me advice about some tooth sensitivity I have been experiencing. Next appointment is six months from now and even though I will still be freaked out, I won't be AS freaked out. Definitely recommend. If you have been putting off a dental exam, go see Dr Arnold.

They did tell me that I could wait an hour because the hygienist had a patient at 12:30, which was supposed to be me. Prior to this, I had billing problems with them. One time they didn't bill my insurance. When questioned, they said it was because the image of the card I sent them was blurry. Instead of telling me that it was blurry and asking me to send a new one, they just didn't bill insurance and kept sending me bills. ??? I sent a new clearer image to the 2-to-3 different phone numbers they told me to text it to and I guess one of them finally worked and they billed insurance. Then they told me there was a balance still due so I called and the woman, and over the phone she said the remaining balance was $23 so I paid it. Two days later I got a bill for $44. It's just these weird expenses and a very disorganized scheduling and building system. Today the woman at the front desk, even though I was clearly upset when I left shouted "have a nice day!" after me in a passive aggressive way. The hygienist I had was good but the billing and front desk staff are unacceptably bad. I'm happy to be moving.

Dr. Shirley examined my teeth and talked to me about a filling that I have lost recently. He was friendly, explained everything that would be done when they replace the filling and spent a good amount of time with me, answering all my questions. Andrea explained the cost of the upcoming filling procedure so that there will not be any surprises when I return. Large office, plenty of parking. A bit weird getting in and out of the lot due to road work but that should be completed soon. All in all, a really great experience and I am one of those people who really HATES going to the dentist. Now I just need to call and cancel my cleaning appointment at my former dentist's office, because Bloomington Family Dental has won me over. I am an avid Yelp user and the negative reviews of BFD had kept me away. Regardless, don't let the negative reviews sway you. The last straw was when at a visit I told him I had been waking up in the morning with a tense jaw and was afraid that I had developed night time grinding and asked for recommendations on how to manage it. He rolled his eyes and said, "just stop". Not exactly the most helpful suggestion for managing an involuntary activity when you're asleep. I switched dentists and discovered that I have a misalignment contributing to night time bruxism which was treated with a bite guard and adjustment.

Had a phenomenal experience (and I don't use descriptions like this without being confident I can defend it!) with Dr. Powers and his team. It was my first visit to have rather urgent work done on my foot. Not only were they able to get me in same-day, but the office team went above and beyond the call of duty to clearly articulate the entire process ... from checking in, through initial consult, to post-appointment procedures, to even how the billing process would work. I was even given a very useful "new patient gift" ... amazing! I definitely plan to make Dr. Powers my only foot and ankle doctor, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing a top-quality specialist. read more

I've been going to Dr. Powers for several years now and have no plans to change podiatrists anytime soon. Being that a podiatrist takes care of my feet and I don't skimp on taking care of them, I wanted to find a doctor I could trust. Over time, I've certainly come to trust Dr. Powers with my feet and my health. Dr. Powers has helped me get new orthotics, deal with plantar fascitis, and even an obnoxious callous. I met Dr. Powers about 2 years ago due to a foot infection. I live in Bloomington and the podiatrist in Bloomington could not get me in so here I went to Bedford:) He was such a great doctor! I really thought that with the infection he would just take care of it in the office but it was much more serious! He gave me the option to be admitted there in Bedford or to head back to Bloomington. We chose Bloomington because it was closer to were we lived along with family and friends! I was having trouble with my foot, they not only got me in quickly, they were very friendly and took very good care of me and answered all questions I had, luckily I made a remark about my big toe hurting due to a ingrown toenail, Dr Powers said he could take care of me right now, I was shocked, I have been dealing with this for as long as I can remember. I was at the point where I wasn't able to walk without having extremely sharp pain shooting up my leg from my foot. My Father told me about his successful experience with Doctor Power's and his staff. And how he wished he would have had his feet checked by Power's Office sooner. Knocked it out of the park!!! Told me what needed to be done and it took place as scheduled and was very successful. Dr. Powers is an awesome doctor and an asset to his profession. Dr. Powers gave my son a new lease on life. He did a great job during visits communicating with him, accepting his limitations due to being on the spectrum. I have been going to DR. Powers for quite a while now, and I have found out that is the very best foot Dr. I could ever go to. He takes time with you,and he know's exactly what to do to treat anything that's wrong with your feet. Dr. Powers and his staff were friendly and professional. I was able to get an appointment quickly and my problem was taken care of with good care. Even during the Covid 19 time frame, I was able to be seen and Dr. Powers and his staff were very conscientious about ppe protocol. My son has an extra bone in 1 of his big toes. I took him to see Dr.Powers to make sure everything was ok as he is starting HS and will be running CC. Staff was very professional and friendly. Lobby is very comfortable. Dr. Powers was great. He even trimmed the toenail which can be problematic. Best trip of our week. Thanks to everyone at the office! Eric. read more

Dr. Powers is wonderful. Very patient and thorough and takes time to explain and answers all questions. I spent over a year bouncing from doctor to doctor, doc 1 said this, sent me to doc 2, and so on. I am so grateful I found him. Years of pain from bilateral TTS and additional nerve compression problems. Surgery #1 done and I'm already feeling relief. read more

I had been dealing with a situation involving infection and pain. I was a first-time patient and the doctor and his staff were professional and friendly and everything was taken care of in one appointment: paperwork and a procedure performed by the doctor. I was in severe pain with plantar fasciitis. Dr. Powers made a pair of orthotics for my shoes. The pain was a 10 and went down to a zero. It was a night and day difference. He and his staff did a great job. I will definitely return if I have anymore problems. read more
