This was my first experience selling a home and it proved to be very disappointing. Suzanne and her associate, Gretchen, walked through and the red flags were immediate. As we were walking through Suzanne asked, "is it yours to sell?" I thought how odd a question. I couldnt help but wonder does she ask all her clients that question? She also stated she would take a 5.5 % sellers commission instead of the customary 6%. I didn't think much of it until a few weeks after signing the listing agreement that she indeed was charging 6% and not the 5.5% she had promised. During the initial meeting she said she wouldn't be putting her agency sign outside because more and more homeowners were making that choice for privacy. I thought it sounded a little odd but this being my first time selling a home I didn't question it. None the less the second it sold there was a sign planted in the front yard. I had just purchased a new Samsung washer and dryer a few months prior and I had them listed as an exclusion in the sale, however I was forced to leave them when I moved. Unfortunately the refrigerator had a maintenance issue while the condo was listed and I could have spent $200 and had it repaired and all would have been good but again was forced to give the buyer a $2500 credit. Gretchen is nothing more than a bully and a thug and will say or do anything without any consideration for honesty to get what she wants. She accepted a low ball offer without consulting me and set up 2 closings, a closing for me alone and another for the buyers so we wouldn't meet, how insulting. While taking care of some final touchups before an open house one of Suzannes employees was lending a hand and started talking about Trump's stolen election and she couldn't understand why we couldn't agree with her. Whether you are selling or buying, there is no need to research or investigate another realtor. A few years ago I was selling my north shore home, and after wasting months with a major competitor's blunder, Suzanne and Gretchen came to the rescue and my house sold. And now as a buyer, they again delivered results during a historic seller's market where odds of getting a beautiful house are very low. Many buyers have given up or ended up buying a house that doesn't meet their criteria. The Spring of 2021 was definitely not an easy time to buy. As I was moving back to the area, I contacted Suzanne and the house search started. It would have been easy to settle for a house way short of expectations and way over listing price with desperation running high for buyers. But with their help I found the house, and my offer was accepted (which is a big deal during these times). There were times when I was ready to buy anything, but Gretchen continually pointed out why a certain house would not meet my expectations (and she was absolutely right). When we were ready to sell , we contacted Suzanne . Signed contract , not realizing she didn't put in the correct date on the contract for the closing . Then she had her 'team' come in to stage our home . I thought our home was fine as it was , but the stagers were very unprofessional and upset that my daughter and I didn't stay for their staging . We also had to pay for THEIR items that they replaced . They took down very expensive art work . And actually stacked them and put in the closet . I would not work with this woman. I am a buyer from out of state who is looking to change locations, or add another home due to covid. I want a historic house and plan to use a magazine designer friend to restore it top to bottom... essentially I am a more than qualified buyer. On a whim I decided to look at a property she was representing at an open house listed on all the MLS sites. I even brought my family to look at it. Yes, some other people there seemed to be tire kickers, but I was not. This woman was combative and disrespectful specifically to me, and not the others, in front of my young children when she had made a scheduling error. Huge scene, absurd. If I were selling, I would want prospective buyers, especially qualified buyers and in terms of strategy, more prospective buyers creates pressure and you get a higher offer... but being so rude to people makes it distasteful to all. The house was nice enough but how off-putting - I can't imagine wanting to be there now. Imagine buying a house and remembering that first moment when the listing agent insulted you as you walked in the door. read more

I went to every local realtors' open houses before i decided to list with Powers Realty. Gretchen and Suzanne were by far the most welcoming and helpful. They were straight forward about what buyers want in Shorewood and helped me with what I needed to do to get my house to that point. I decided to take their advice and I spent $2,300. in refinishing floors, painting, cleaning, etc. They did a great job at staging my house and even cleaned areas I missed. I was impressed by the amount of time they dedicated. They were very professional and had a Powers agent present at every showing. They sold my house in three weeks for more than I thought they could. They charged the same as other realtors who do not include staging. I would use them again. read more

Suzanne Powers and company unethically used my husband and I to drive up a price on a house we were hoping to buy--and then pulled the carpet out from under us because the electronic signature was giving us trouble and it took a few minutes for the accepted counter offer to go through. We had given her the offer the night before but "she was sleeping" and then she didn't wait when we accepted the counter offer because, in her words, "She needed to look out for the seller's best interest." We had given them everything they wanted--all that was needed was paperwork within minutes. As the people of the North Shore know and discuss opening, often, and freely, Suzanne Powers is unethical and unprofessional. She will face ethics violations and she will fail. Shame on you, Suzanne. I hade set up a meeting with Suzanne to come to my home for the potential of listing and to confirm what exactly the listing price should be . This was to be the second meeting we were to have at 1 pm. I noted during our first meeting that she took many phone calls, and that there was an extreme air of her time is more important than mine., as I was made to sit by ideally as she carried on her conversations.. On this day of the second scheduled meeting, I took the day off of work to have my house in as perfect of order I could make it for Suzanne's visit, which was scheduled for 1pm. By 2pm, Suzanne still had not arrived, no phone call or communicaion to say what was occurring. I called her cell, she did not take the call. I then called the office, they said she was running behind and should be at my home fairly soon. Due to the day off of work and the efforts of the day to clean and organize, I wanted to have the meeting and had no choice but to be available whenever she may appear. I called her cell again at 3 since naother hour had passed, she didnt pick up. Called dthe office again, they still assured me she was coming . By 4, then 5.. Upon my calling again, I was told that Suzanne had left to go out of town and that she was no longer in Milwaukee, and would be out of town on vacation for the next two weeks. I know things can genuinely come up.. However this was over the top in my estimation .I was shocked that any professional would treat a potential client in this manner. I heard form someone in her office a week later asking if they could come over and talk about listing the house. I think you know that my answere ws no. I want to emphasise that my home is in very fine condition, with no unusual circumstances surroundiong it, and they woule have made a great commission on it. When listing our home for sale, I interviewed Suzanne. She was extremely unprofessional and rude. She cut the interview short without any explanation, and later, when showing our house to her clients, she tried to steer people away from our home by rushing them through, not showing them the whole house, and then slandering the parts of the house they didn't see. I would not recommend Suzanne to represent anyone either as a buyer or a seller. read more

She was extremely and shockingly unprofessional when we interviewed her (storming out of the house when she found out we were meeting with numerous agents before choosing who to sell our home). I was freaked out about the prospect of having to sell our house: we had been out of it for nearly three years, we were living on the other side of the country, and the house was being rented out. I had spoken to Suzanne a couple of times during the years about unrelated stuff and it struck me how much time she had been willing to spend with me on the phone even though she knew she wouldn't be getting anything out of me. I've probably spoken to her for hours and it's weird that I've never actually met her in person. Powers Realty Group are underdogs and as a business owner myself, I have a soft spot for underdogs, especially when they fiercely try to prove themselves and give you a superior experience to the established brands. This is exactly what I got from them. I was skeptical about certain things, some of the reviews, etc. and she took the time to explain those and gain my trust. I almost feel a twinge of sadness that I have no valid reason to interact with her anymore. As for the home selling experience itself, I've never been to a spa, but I can imagine that this was what it was like. I felt pampered and taken care of. If you're a business owner and/or busy person, imagine the feeling of leaving a difficult problem that lots of people could easily screw up with, that you're dreading delegating or even dealing with, and leaving it to a team of competent people who not only know their stuff, but also understand human psychology, the importance of frequent communication, regular updates, timelines that are laid out and then actually adhered to. It was unbelievable. This process was smoother than my wildest expectations. In fact, I can't remember anything with this order of magnitude of complexity having gone this smoothly in my entire life. I don't know whether Suzanne had a soft spot for me or whether she treats all her clients this way, but she would constantly personally attend to my phone calls and emails. Gretchen and Erick were great too, but the crown jewel was Suzanne. My house wasn't even that expensive, so it wasn't a money thing. She routinely deals with houses that cost 3x+ more than mine, yet she was so nice to me and personally attended to me. At one point in time, when I was freaking out about something, she said in her no-B.S. style that I love: "Your $X house isn't going to make or break me," and I started laughing. Like I said, I'm going to miss those interactions. Meaningful personal interactions are more important to me than material stuff. It may sound hard to believe, but I was a tiny bit bummed when the closing was complete and I got the "Thank you / We're done!" email. I felt like these expert guides had led me up and down Mt. Everest, we had bonded a lot along the journey, and now we were parting ways. read more

I used Powers Realty to sell my home based on a recommendation from someone, who I later found out received commission on the sale of my house for the referral. The whole experience was negative. Powers is unprofessional and unethical. As the house was listed the feedback was continuously negative about the price being too high. Even after lowering it twice-at my urging-I still received lowball offers. It turned out she had a reputation for listing homes too high. She told me from the beginning that I could cancel my contract at any time. When I told her I wanted to do that, she did not follow through on her word. She ignored my emails and calls and there ceased to be showings. She then revived an offer I had turned down because it was too low by staying that the buyer was willing to go up $10k. I agreed. Turned out that they were only willing to go up $5000. She lied and manipulated to keep my business. It was the worst experience selling a house. This was my third home and I had always had outstanding agents. I also learned she had been fired from First Weber prior to starting her own company. I thought long and hard about whether or not to write a review. However, I want to save anyone the stress and headache of dealing with her company. She's dishonest, unethical, and unprofessional. Her personality is also difficult to deal with. She treated me like I was her employee. Really strange. read more
