A cute little café/bar. A red exterior with a glass door. You walk in to a very chilled calming atmosphere a few worn leather sofas, chairs and tables. At the end of the room is an inviting little bar with fresh fruit, croissants, must and chocolate all placed in a tempting way. The staff are so chatty and helpful. A great place during the day to chill on your own with a book or have an informal business meeting. During the day most people in there have their laptops as wireless Internet is free. During the evening it turns into a cosy bar with mellow tunes and great cocktails. People having intimate conversations in couples or just little groups. I always enjoy going here for a few drinks with a couple of friends before a meal or even before a big night out, as you can actually talk and catch up with your friends and know that you will not disturb by flirtatious others! read more

The unique foreign feel here is not unexpected (given the big clue in the name) but it is most welcome. Feeling like a tourist within 1K of your home is an achievement (the foreign languages overheard nearby reinforcing this illusion). I wouldn't say that the bar felt particularly Czech mind you, but certainly not of England. Prague bar offers an extensive range of cocktails as well as a great selection of Czech lagers. The cocktails are around £6 which makes a nice change and are made with generous measures and fresh friut. The place has a warm, comfortable feel with low lighting, sofas, small tables and chairs. Even though it is on the small side, the tables don't feel too close together and you can easily find a private corner to chat away in with friends. The walls are exposed brick and there is interesting urban artwork displayed. Despite being in the centre of the trendy Shoreditch, this place doesn't feel exclusive to a 'scene', and has a comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere, welcoming all. read more

What you see is what you get from Prague. Comfy couches, free wifi, decent coffee (also Staropramen) and a minimum of attitude. Other places in the area try way too hard while Prague knows its role and plays it well. Sup Prague. Here's the deal. You are totally a solid 3-star review. A-OK is the word of the day. You've got decent drinks, pretty good coffee, a totally serviceable interior, relatively comfortable couches, and generally a thoroughly mediocre sense about you. Nothing bad. But certainly nothing spectacular. I might downgrade you a star for not serving hot drinks after 6pm, because sometimes people want hot drinks after 6pm. However, I gotta bump you back up for being really super chill about us sitting for a really long time using your wi-fi. I'd almost bump you up another star for having surprisingly nice bathrooms, considering that if your equivalent divey bar were located in the US, the bathrooms would be scary dirty like a Silence of the Lambs serial killer basement dungeon (that's for you Chris). We were early enough to get some seats in Prague when we walked in Nice cocktails, I went for the Caipirinha and it was good. Too good, I consumed about 3-4.... not too sure - eek! Roamed into Prague as part of a drink-a-thon along Shoreditch. I had just come from Commercial Tavern, so in comparison, I was really not impressed with the physical aspect of Prague. It's just a.. typical bar/cafe. Some tables. Some chairs. A couch. Maybe two. The crowd was a bit older, and not much to look at I suppose. Then again I was already well on my way to mid-drunk at this point so I probably was staring at the wall. Tried some of their cocktails, which, thank God I wasn't buying, were about £9/each. They were good... but not £9 good. Service wasn't bad. Bartender was actually really friendly despite the other reviews, but there is nothing special about this place, whatsoever. read more

I really like the relaxed atmosphere in this slightly grungily-decorated cafe/bar. I visited in the early evening, as they were just bringing the candles out and turning on some cool but unobtrusive music to complete the transition to bar. A very friendly bartender recommended me a new Czech beer they'd just got in, which was really delicious and refreshing as I settled down to reflect on my day. Looking around there was a good mix of folk - some people reading or just relaxing with a beer like me, a few couples and small groups enjoying lively conversation over interesting-looking cocktails and one birthday group who'd booked a space on the sofas by the window. So if you fall into any of those groups, I'd definitely recommend this as a good place to start your evening. And I look forward to trying some of these pickled things next time! read more

This cafe bar is perfect for a solitary drink . The staff are friendly, chatty and welcoming and the bar snacks have a nice European feel. The decor & music is cool and quirky but not up itself . I like . Only downfall is the cider selection is one choice . . Koppenberg . As a cider person this doesn't do at all . But I was comforted with a nice selection of whiskey . It was quite late when I visited this venue, but i was still happy to say that it was busy vibrant AND the group of us got seats. Atmosphere: The place was interesting, dark, not dingy, but whatever a positive version of that is.... honestly nice. Very very male at the time I visited. The staff were lovely. the toilets were... well pub toilets on saturday night at 1am, which hadn't been visited for a while :( Refreshments: pickles - they sell pickles, and fortunately I like pickles a lot! Drink: it's a cheq bar - so there were lots of beers, but also lots of flavoured vodkas, i had a toffee vodka and my friend visiting from Sweden has a Skittles one. they were delightful as you may imagine! I was met my friend at one early Sunday evening and any of the other places close by weren't open, or seemed to have too wild parties when we were looking for something more relaxed. So we ended up in Prague. I thought the place was cozy and had this home-like feeling. The biggest plus was the heating! It surprising how little things make you ( during the winter time) happy! It was warmer than in my own home. The bitter and just simply bad coffee made me sad but after warming up for hours on their soft leather sofa, I finally got over it. In Prague there is absolutely nothing controversial, new, or necessarily even good quality, but it is all right place for just hanging around if you are fed up with places with too loud music, too crowded or cold. read more

In all honesty, I was a bit pissed when I stumbled into this cute little bar sauntering (not) sexily back from a rather greasy Vietnamese. Perhaps it was the exposed brickwork and Tuesday solitude that whet my appetite, perhaps it was the the smell of modestly priced cocktails, I'm not too sure! Nonetheless, I was pleasantly surprised when I managed to grab two tasty glasses of pinot grigio and a yummy vanilla strawberry cocktail which came to just over a tenner. I was also delighted to get a seat on a rouge leather sofa, having the space to stretch my legs in the process. Established in 2005, the website proclaims Prague Bar offers a laid back atmosphere with free wi-fi, friendly staff and the finest coffee. Whether you are looking for a private corner or the perfect place to catch up with friends Prague Bar has a table (or couch) for you. Great for a spot of intimacy, or a good starter before hitting Hoxton's throbbing electro beats. If you're a budding artist, they're always looking for fresh new talent to exhibit also. read more

Bar Prague is an intimate little bar with a massive list of cocktails and martinis. I love coming in here to try something new. I think it has been growing on people's radars since an earlier review states seats can always be found. While I have been lucky a few times, the Bar has been getting more popular. It can be quite hit and miss with the crowds though. I love the new art on the wall -- it looks like a massive x-ray machines since the light passes through the design. Very cool. read more

I was here for the first time the other day and I absolutely loved it! At first I was a little skeptical as it seemed very chilled looking in from the outside, and not somewhere where you might have a fun night out. Yet it was fantastic! Sure, it is chilled, but that in no-way takes away from the fun I had. The drinks were great and I even sampled some of the food, which was wonderful. Furthermore, the staff were really friendly and easily joked around with us and made us feel completely at ease. If you're ever in the area, be sure to give this place a visit :) read more

Finding an awesome coffeeshop in London with free wifi where you can do work for hours is harder than one might think, so Bar Prague is a great find. It's got a funky interior with comfy couches and lots of tables and chairs. The kicker for me though is that they have an amazing cocktail list for those who wish to have a cocktail later in the day...or occasionally in the early afternoon noon...or sometimes in the late morning. Nice cool bar at the end of Kingsland's Road. This has become my standard meeting spot for friends before moving on to eat at the nearby Vietnamese restaurants on the Kingsland strip. The bar is relatively small, but doesn't seem to get too crowded. Friendly, efficient staff; pleasant hipster, arty clientele. The decor has a somewhat worn charm to it (reminds me in a positive way to some of the bars in Berlin); the prominent use of red out front works; nice art - the large back lit santa photo cool; seriously low, but comfortable sofas and chairs. I really only know this place from visiting numerous times during the day and staying only as late as 7pm. So this is a review of Prague's cafe and just a little bit of their bar. Very friendly staff, one even gave me a bite of his pickled sausage when he saw my interest. They have lots of yummy pickled things available on the right side of the bar. Try the sausages if they have them, cheese if they have that. Though the pickled things go really well with beer, perhaps not so much with tea or coffee. They'll toast a bagel or have some sweet biscuits on offer during the day, but only the pickled foods and crisps remain out past 6pm, when Prague switches from cafe to bar. Free WiFi and there are always a few people with laptops gitting about the place, but enough non-plugged in people to still have a nice atmosphere. I like their tea and their czech beer. They make very good, interesting cocktails here and they use real fruit juice, not cordials, so big plus there. And I can always find a seat. read more

My favorite in the Shorditch/Hoxton area. Great Czech beer, relaxed attitude and very friendly. A great place for a quiet afternoon beer, or to meet up for a chat. Later on the pace picks up yet it still remains friendly and just plain nice. If you want to use the free wi fi it looks as if Apple laptops are mandatory ;-), but that's the only sign of pretention in this little gem. read more

After traipsing around Shoreditch for a while last night trying to find somewhere quiet we could have a drink and chat before heading to a party, we ended up settling on Prague. It was the only bar around that looked like we'd be able to hear each other talk (I'm getting old!) and the only bar without a queue coming out of the door. My first time in Prague, I wasn't exactly blown away. Fairly busy, all the tables taken, but with an older crowd, a lot of them looked like city suits, a contrast to the nearby bars like Jaguar Shoes which are filled with the typical Shoreditch trendies. The bar staff looked bored and served me my drink without a smile. Prague is a small bar, the walls covered in photographic prints which look a bit like the prints you see in the windows of snappy snap. It seemed like it was a venue trying to hard to be 'arty' to fit in with the rest of the shoreditch bars. It wasn't a bad venue for a quiet drink, I managed to catch up with my friend and we even got a seat! Unheard of at 10.00pm in Shoreditch on a Saturday night. Not somewhere I'd rush back to though, I think there's a good reason for it being so quiet. read more

This is the newest bar on the Shoreditch Church end of Kingsland Rd, and you would've thought they'd take inspiration from other local popular spots and follow that format. Nope. The first time i ventured in here it smelled so rank of sewage (and cabbage) that i pretty much had to leave right away. The only good thing about the place is the fact that it offers free wifi, but nothing here quite works. You only have to walk past on a busy evening and see the empty tables to see that most seem to agree. Must try harder Prague. read more

This is a warm and cosy bar, with a large selection of their own infused vodkas and gins to make up for the limited beer options. We arrived quite late on a monday night and still didn't have much choice of where to sit. The bar staff were friendly enough, although one wanted to close as soon as possible. I was a little disappointed there was no call for last drinks. Maybe normal for this area but a pint of Star' was only just under 4 pounds.
