We came back again after about 2 years to visit this lovely beach. Please read my previous review,…read moreit's got almost all the info about this place I could find. The only info I could add is the origin of the name: according to many websites, the beach is named for a previous owner, José Henrique Carneiro (born 1867), a former Senator for the state of Pernambuco. It was acquired by Rosalvo Ramos Rocha in 1938 and was used as a coconut plantation until his death in the 1970's, when it was divided among 6 of his heirs who developed it into what would become the tourist destination that it is today. In 2014, it was considered one of the 15 best beaches in the world by Tripadvisor.
