Upon returning to the Prairie mall after a 10 year absence from Grande Prairie, I thought back to when I first started going there 16 years ago and realized that while much has changed...even more has really stayed the same. The place feels very modular... like they shipped each wing of the mall in a crate and then cobbled together in a disjointed fashion.. Ie the south wing has an entirely vibe and feel than the north... At least on the north side they got rid of Zellers and put a Target in there. Although I'm not so sure how successful the Target will be, since it has a LOT of competition in the area... Also while Zellers had many faults, it's location in the mall was another nail in its coffin since that area is quiet with little foot traffic. Other changes include a whole bunch of new clothing stores (while many of the legacy stores still remain), that all are priced exorbitantly to cater to the oil money so freely flowing in this town, and excluding those of more modest means. The one thing that has never changed is the teenagers that loiter around everywhere and never look up to any good, although I'm well aware than the average GP teenager probably has more disposable income than I do :( Also the parking situation is rather awful, and all the roads around there need a redo.. Access and exit via auto mobile can be quite stressful, especially around peak times. read more

The Prairie Mall is impressive to me, especially for the size of Grande Prairie. It has some trendier stores (ie. Aeropostale, la senza, etc) and some that cater to the older crowd, which is appropriate for the demographic. Personally I never shop at the Zellers in Edmonton, but the one is much more tolerable. And really- where else are you going to go? They do pictures with Santa which is great. There's lots of signs of community outreach- you can really tell that this is the PRAIRIE mall, not a mall just run by big corporations. read more

I mean some of the people are nice bc I have a granddaughter and she has a broken foot so she can't walk and no body would let her have a wheel chair she gets really tired of walking on and she cries about it and no one cares so yeah read more

I had a little free time and decided to check out Prairie Mall. My first stop was MICA beauty cosmetics in one of those Kiosk. I strongly recommend reading the blogs on this product. I thought the mall for a small town was decent size and offered pretty much what a consumer would need. I would rate this mall higher if my first encounter was not so unpleasant. read more

A mall that impressed me as a child as it has a lot more stores than the one I was accustomed to. It could be a lot bigger and the recent addition of two larger department stores could have provided more variety if they were replaced by many smaller stores. Marshalls is exclusively for women and I found that Grande Prairie could benefit from a larger Old Navy or unisex store. read more

The Prairie Mall is... a mall. There's been a lot of turnover in the last several years, but it never really gets anything too exciting. Lots of clothing stores and even more kids who just hang around all day. I think the Prairie Mall needs a bit of a reinvention... maybe swap out Zellers for something a bit higher-end that doesn't smell like rubber boots? read more

There is a good balance between different types of stores but there is so much walking just to get to the food court from shoppers. If you want cheap Clothes I would recommend Aeropostale But the free wifi tho read more
