Saint Aloysius is an engaging Roman Catholic community which is heavily involved in the surrounding region. By contributing to projects which are rebuilding homes destroyed in tornados a town over to being involved with Coopeative Christian Ministries which helps people pay their bills and eat. The church and Priest think about the parishioners and their music ministry especially at the 5:15 life teen Mass is exceptional. Saint Aloysius also offers perpetual adoration and weekday Masses and confession on Wednesday and Saturday.

My four year old granddaughter has attended preschool at First United Methodist Church for the past…read moretwo years. Recently, she had a morning that did not go well for her and therefore, she did not want to go to school that day. When I took her into Miss Kays Class she continued to cling to my leg and did not want to stay. Both teachers went out of their way to acclimate her to class by showing her special toys and even a guitar that Miss Kay played. Also, Miss Kay held her to make her feel better. I realize if you have not been in this situation, this may seem in-coincidental or unimportant but to me I left with confidence that she was very well cared for and valued by her teacher. I have 1 child that went through the program and is now in 2nd grade and left the program more prepared for Kindergarten than I could have imagined. He could read at a higher than Kindergarten level, developed his social skills and overall loved the Preschool experience. I currently have 2 children that are in the program and they both look forward to going to Preschool every morning. My 5 year old is in the same boat as my 2nd grader in that she will leave Preschool well prepared for Kindergarten. The teachers truly love the children in the program and I couldn't imagine sending my kids elsewhere. Can't say enough nice things about this program and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent preschool in the Hickory area.
