This is a gingerbread shop. They sell it in plastic packages and tins, plain or with chocolate or…read moresugar, but they pretty much just sell gingerbread. Their version of gingerbread is more like a cookie than bread but it's not hard like American gingerbread cookies. It's very sticky and kind of chewy, almost like the consistency of a health bar. The woman behind the counter was relatively nice but there wasn't much for her to say. There are only a few varieties of gingerbread and either you're going to buy some gingerbread or you're not. I decided to get the plain variety. I think it cost 6 euros for 5 cookies but I may be wrong.
The flavor of the gingerbread is pretty mild, it's not going to give you a punch of ginger or cinnamon or other spices. It's a bit sweet and there's some texture from finely diced nuts. Ultimately, I thought it was disappointing and not something I would go out of my way for.
