We had high hopes for this spot. I know they claim their pasta is made fresh in house but didn't taste like any freshly made pasta I've ever had. Thick chewy noodles that stuck together. The Alfredo sauce was flavorless, watery and just all around awful. Soggy bland chicken parm. I even tried my friend's Lugo and he said it tasted like a boxed meal. To top it off the meatballs did not taste homemade and the table swore they were premade frozen. Sadly most of the party we were with didn't enjoy their meals but we were there for a birthday and all decided to keep it to ourselves. It wasn't a busy night and our poor server seemed all on her own for the most part. Dishes piled up and expected someone to come help her clear for the party or refill drinks. I went here for a work dinner at Prati Italia did NOT disappoint! The short rib was fall-apart tender, creamy mashed potatoes and green beans were seasoned perfectly. My coworkers raved that everything was absolutely delicious, and honestly, everything we tried was a hit. Meatballs were moist and sauce was flavorful, Brussels sprouts had nice little crispy edges with gongozola cheese and cheesecake and brownie desserts were not too sweet but a great ending to the meal, and of course a lemon drop to sip on. Let me just say, this was our first time, and it was such a wonderful experience! My daughter felt absolutely amazing celebrating her special birthday, and I loved that they had a private area for our group. The ambiance is amazing. I was especially impressed by our server, Quinn. He was by far one of the easiest, friendliest, and most patient servers we've ever had. What impressed me most was how patient he was with us. I must say the food here is incredibly delicious and the overall aesthetic of the place is beautiful! Our service was great as we were celebrating a birthday and they were able to accommodate for allergies wonderfully! One thing I would keep in mind before your order appetizers is that they do have complementary bread that comes out, but we still enjoyed the toasted garlic bread appetizer. I highly recommend their 13 layer lasagna or spaghetti with dorian meatballs as they were both prepared incredibly and absolutely delish! Our food was also boxed for us at the end of dinner; however, I felt like after we finished some of the portion had reduced significantly, also the entire sauce for the lasagna (which there was some left) completely disappeared. John got The Godfather pizza, I went for that short rib. John's take- best pizza he has ever eaten! Whoa- that's huge. He's currently eating his leftovers. I was so excited for the short rib I missed that it was over polenta. I would have preferred mashed potatoes- but that just meant I ate every single carrot- omg, so yummy and almost all of the beef- again, perfectly cooked, great flavor and fork soft- hmmmm. The perfect birthday dinner spot! This is my favorite place to get crispy Brussels sprouts. Everything is always delicious, and the atmosphere is unbeatable. It can get a bit busy, but the amazing food and ambiance make it worth it. The staff is always incredibly sweet and truly makes you feel cared for. One time, my family came here with our cousin, who is autistic. We were seated in the back room, where the sound echoed and was a little loud. The manager approached us and offered to move us to a quieter area of the restaurant, and even offered to provide headphones for my cousin. It was one of the best experiences we've ever had at a restaurant, especially considering that dining out can be challenging if the environment is too overstimulating. It was sobriety week at the AA meeting last night so to start off my weekend I decided I would divulge myself with a treat to start my one day winning streak against alcohol. After getting through the shakes from toes to fingertips I found myself well groomed and at the precipice of fresh eating when I entered. After being questioned for my reasons being here and successfully convincing them I was a functional person I was seated and within minutes served my order of Shrimp Fra Diavolo. Though its a bit pricey for a blue collar worker like myself with the balance of flavors spice and everything nice I can say that the extra dollars counted towards elevating my experience to heights higher than the image of the perfect father I always wanted to be. It gives me conniptions just thinking about how low I set the bar. The margarita was also light and well balanced and so tempting I nearly forgot the promise I made to the AA counselor in not "converting the members back to the dark side". It had been awhile since I had been to Prati Italia but I am glad we came back. We started off that the bar for Happy Hour which they do daily from 4:30PM to 6:30PM which is great since more places on do during the week. They have a number of drink specials from wine to beer as well as cocktails. I went with the Margarita for $8 which isn't bad. I also liked that it was nice an tart. For Happy Hour food we got a medium cheese pizza ($10) and added sausage for $3. The pizza was very good and great to sharing. It is similar to a Detroit Style Pizza and had crispy cheese on the corners which we loved. Could have maybe used a little more sauce but we still very much enjoyed it. Would for sure get another pizza again and there are my options to try. We then went to the dining room for our main course. Having already studied the menu I knew what I was going to get for my entree. I went with the Chicken Parmesan which comes with Fettuccine Alfredo. Once ordered our food came out pretty quickly. I love had they pair the Chicken Parmesan with the Fettuccine Alfredo because the Marinara and the Alfredo pair perfectly together. For sure prefer it over a Marinara based pasta sauce. The Fettuccine was fresh and cooked perfectly and the Alfredo was very flavorful. The Chicken Parmesan was a nice large piece with plenty of sauce and the 3 cheese blend was very good too. The chicken was maybe just a bit overcooked but still very good. Not super dry like some I have had before. Was very happy we came back to Prati to give them another try. I ordered a peach martini which came very quickly and it was pretty good. I will say it was nice and stiff. Lol I also ordered the short rib dish and a side of brussels sprouts. Now as far as the food I was a little bit surprised being that it was such a nice place and it was so beautiful but honestly the flavor was a little bit bland on the short rib dish. This was our second visit to Prati Italia, and I have mixed feelings. Our first experience was excellent. We went for brunch and had the sugo pasta and steak & eggs. Both dishes were flavorful, well prepared, and generously portioned. However, our most recent visit on Father's Day wasn't quite as impressive. My husband ordered the pork chop special and said it was good, though he wasn't a fan of the sweet sauce that accompanied it. I had the shrimp and grits, which tasted fine, but the portion was surprisingly small. I easily could've eaten a second plate. Even my friend, who usually doesn't eat much, commented on how small the serving was. Overall, Prati Italia still offers great food, quick service, and a beautiful setting both inside and out. We asked for more sauce for the fries but never got it and didn't get a chance to ask again. We also waited a bit for our check. The food was mostly good! The tomato basil soup was disappointing, it tasted like tomato sauce you get from a can, 2/10. The truffle fries are my absolute favorite, 10/10! The chicken parm was also delicious, 10/10! I stopped in tonight for a quick bite and drink. I've visited for Happy Hour decal times but I don't always update review after each visit at restaurants I frequent. I arrived about 30 minutes before happy hour ended and sat at the bar. Tonight was pretty slow overall but service was still on point. I started with a dark n stormy, ordered a cheese pizza add meatballs and ordered a beer when the pizza came out. I didn't enjoy this beer as I did at the recent Elite event but I still drank it. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Jacksonville. The food is absolutely to die for, and they make the best espresso martini I've had anywhere in Jacksonville. I usually sit at the bar but also have had great experience with the waitresses/waiters. My go-to appetizers are the cheese curds and garlic bread, both are amazing. My husband's favorite is the pizza (also to die for), and I can't recommend the chicken parmesan enough. I've also had the mac and cheese side, which is a 10/10, and the short rib is another standout dish that's absolutely worth ordering. I've honestly never had a bad meal here. My only request would be to bring the cheese curds back to the regular menu because it is my #1 favorite food of all time. Underwhelming is the best wsy to describe our experience. We were sat at a corner booth. The booths are large ovals that encompass 3 tables. The booth back was very dirty and the base where the back meets the seat filled with debris all around. It's a beautiful spot but extremely dirty. We ordered cocktails (beer for me, a glass of wine for my mother) and waited a very very long time before our waiter turned up with my beer and informed my mom they were out of her wine would she like something else? She ordered an aperol spritz. While he was there I ordered burrata to start, asked to have that followed be a Caesar salad split I was very specific asking for it to follow the app and before the entrees. The burrata and salad arrived together and my mom still didn't have her aperol. No offer of cracked pepper, and both dropped at once. Now I had to fend the flies away from 3 things at once. Meals arrived before we had finished the app or the salad, nothing was offered to be wrapped. Literally chasing fruit flies away from my drink and 3 plates. The meals were very good. I had chicken Parmesan, it was tender and delicious. Mom had the primavera. It was superb. Didnt see our server until we were basically finished. I asked for 2 boxes, got 1. I mean wow. Review is for their event space. I recently held my rehearsal dinner at Prati. We rented out the space on the second floor- it's a covered patio. Space is considered outdoors but well protected from sunshine and rain. We were actually concerned about it being too cold and they were able to provide heaters which kept us toasty. We had 25+ people attend. I worked with Caitlyn to get all the details sorted out. She was responsive and left no questions unanswered. Night of we had Toli and Heather serving us. Kudos to them as they were on top of their game. Drinks were always filled, questions were answered and service was top notch! I pre-selected the food through a catering menu. OMG everything was so delicious. All of our guests raved about the food and we had so much left over. It was wild. Highly recommend their raviolis, side of spinach, chicken Parmesan, all of their pizzas, and their salted caramel popcorn ice cream. Yes popcorn on ice cream! We couldn't be happier after choosing Prati for our special night. I highly recommend this to future couples. I am hoping to host another event there in the future! Super fresh tasting and the crust was amazing. Think the fanciest Detroit style pizza you could have. The truffle fries were okay. If I'm paying $12 for a plate of fries, I expect them to be homemade at a place like this. My wife and I enjoyed our first visit to this place. We ordered the gnocchi to share, since we weren't too hungry and noticed that many of the plates going around were quite large. Surprisingly, the dish we got wasn't very big at all. They actually offer a smaller size (half portion), but even the regular one seemed more like a single-person serving--not really enough if you were hoping for leftovers. We paid $28 for the gnocchi and, to be honest, didn't feel it was worth it. The taste was good, but not amazing. It had a lot of pancetta, which made it a bit too salty and overpowered the gnocchi itself. We'll probably come back to give their pizza a try, since it looked like a good size for sharing if you don't feel like ordering a full entrée. Let's see how it goes next time. read more

I wrapped up 2024 with a wonderful family meal at a local favorite, @pratiitaliajax. They consistently excel in food, service, and drinks--I've never had a bad experience there. We always start with the Truffle-Parmesan Fries and the Crispy Cheese Curds. The fries are perfectly seasoned and come out crispy every time. And who can resist perfectly delicious fried cheese? Despite dining there many times, I had never tried their signature pizzas until now. I opted for "The Quinn," which is topped with locally roasted mushrooms, garlic cream, mozzarella, Fontina, truffle oil, and chives. The whole combination of all the different flavors worked so damn well. The mushrooms are the star of this pizza! Finally, it was dessert time. We tried the Tiramisu and the Nutella Brownie à la Mode. The brownie was served with crunchy caramel corn, a salted caramel drizzle, and a scoop of caramel gelato. It was my favorite. Came here for my daughter's birthday dinner and the vibes were on point. Our party had about 22 people but they accommodated us well. My daughter surprisingly chose Italian and Prati delivered in every aspect. We started out with several appetizers and everything was made well. The star of the show were the cheese curds and brussel sprouts. My father raved about his Filet Mignon and my mother could barely save any of her lasagna to take home lol. The salmon also made an appearance on the top of the list. This party was for a 17 year old and they literally ordered about 14 pizzas and a side of fries as you would expect kids to do. Wonder happy hour! We stop by to meet some friends last night for dinner and drinks. I've been to this restaurant before several years ago when it first switched names and menu. That time I thought the food was okay, but there's so much Italian food in my area that I never felt the need to go back. My friends and I were looking for a spot to meet that was convenient for all of us and had a good happy hour menu so this is where we landed. I was so glad I gave this place another chance because I definitely liked it more this time. They have a list of $5 happy hour snacks and $10 happy hour snacks. Most of the snacks are very big and easily shareable making them a great deal for a group to share. To share for happy hour we ordered a bottle of wine and a pizza. Then for dinner, I ordered a small Caesar salad and the small serving of the ravioli. I could not finish my ravioli because the "small" serving was still huge. But both were very good and I would definitely order it them again. read more
