Pravda was good. Definitely interesting atmosphere, I wouldn't go there before 11 pm because there's not much going on. The crowd was different than most other bars. Definitely an older crowd and more extravagantly dressed or oddly dressed people. They had the best amaretto sour's I've ever had. The bartender was super friendly. They have a dance floor, and even though it was full, the majority of people weren't dancing. They were either making out with each other or just slightly bouncing their bodies up and down. read more

It's Me, Renee" (well she said Chelsea but you get it) - my love for vodka(s), plus my 15 words I know in Russian (one of them being Cheers...) meant I was super stoked when my friend Eddie told me about Pravda. Pravda was wonderfully located within stumbling distance to my hotel and from the Little Dipper, where we just had gorged ourselves on fondue. With all the red, Lenin, and especially the RPG above the bar, I felt all I needed was an Ushanka, (fur hat) and a little snow and maybe I had been teleported to the 1980s USSR. I was happy Pravda stocked Rain vodka, my signature (and fave) vodka - it's made from 100 percent organically grown Illinois white corn and is certified organic. Truly a rare find in North Carolina. I was unhappy that they stopped stocking ginger beer so I was unable to have my signature classic cocktail, a Moscow Mule - vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice. I mean really - it has MOSCOW in the name, so apropos, alas unfortunately not. They make the sweet and sour from scratch everyday so I deviated from the norm and drank Makers and Sour the rest of the night. They had their own fruit infused vodkas: apple, strawberry, and one more.. (I forgot - lots of whiskey) - the apple was subtle and added that perfect hint fruitiness to whatever cocktail it was I was sipping on simultaneously to my Makers Sour. It wasn't too crowded about 10 on a Saturday but there was a steady stream of people flowing in so I could imagine around 11 it'd be pretty full up with people. This is by far THE BEST Nightclub in Wilmington! It's located right in the center of the downtown district, where all the bars/restaurants are. We heard about it from friends who said when they go out downtown, they go here and it never disappoints. w We got there around 10, it wasn't very busy yet, but boy did it fill up fast, by 12 there was a huge line to get in! It has a really cool atmosphere and is clean (hard to come by in a club). Great music, (the DJ was super nice), dancing, strong drinks and good drink specials, the bartenders are friendly and seem to be having a great time behind the bar. People definitely come to DANCE at Pravda! We danced for 3 hours and didn't want to stop. Really great sound system with lasers and light show, a fun crowd that likes to let loose. You are incorrect review your tape as a disinterested third party and you will see otherwise. Others in social media state to have similar experiences with your staff. So, this isn't surprising. My own family still uses the word. So, don't tell me what the young man would "never say". He did. Plain and simple. And I didn't deliberately back into him. I turned, never touching, and told him that I couldn't hear him and asked him what he said. At that point, he said get out. You stated we were "excessively touching". Please, do show me where that occurred. Oh, hat right, your straight patrons can bump and grind but we were excessive? Review that again. The only excessive lens was that viewpoint of your bouncer. It doesn't matter, really, that you won't acknowledge any part of it. It is just another thing people do, but shouldn't, have to be prepared for. ** Dustin, owner, indicated that he has spoken with the bouncer and that he had indicated that they are open to all and that hate will it be tolerated. For that, I applaud him and have changed the rating. As I wasn't in their 10 minutes, I can't rate them anything else.... Might return to see how this particular bouncer reacts. Perhaps he was having a bad day and things escalated. But, he did call me a faggot...end of story. But, I also understand that Dustin has to give him benefit of doubt until there is another issue. I've been here twice now. Last weekend for my birthday and the weekend before that to meet up with some friends from out of town. The first time I went, I walked in alone and wasn't charged to enter. I had a lot of fun dancing with the pretty lights and fog machine. The music was ok overall, I personally just find it harder to dance to Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. The second time I went, I walked in with one other friend and we were charged $4 for a membership fee.. I asked when they started doing that and the lady said they had been doing it for a while (which obviously I thought was odd since I didn't get charged the weekend before). Several other of my friends came as well, but some of them were charged $2 for membership fees. Also, when my friends ordered one beer and wanted to pay with a card, the bartender said that they'd have to tip up to $10 because their register wouldn't accept card payments that were less than $10. Due to the inconsistencies, I was pretty sketched out. We stayed for a couple hours, but ended up going to a different club instead. Google reviews also show that several other people have also had similar bad experiences like I had.. :( I feel like I should also say that going to this experience didn't ruin my birthday, I still had a great night overall! After reading comments that the owner of this establishment will look into the issues being discussed in our reviews, I will be open to coming back to this location in the future to give it another shot. After spending 9 months in Wilmington working on a film, it always felt great to be able to dance and blow off some steam with friends and crew members at Pravda and upstairs at Sputnik. It has the awesome big town club vibe (the sound system in Sputnik is better than most of the clubs in Los Angeles) but in the quaint setting of downtown Wilmington. Their biggest asset is DJ Milk who plays music the patrons want to hear NOT the pretentious house beats most DJs want you to hear! read more

So first time to this so called night club. I entered the place and had a drink with friends we left. My rist band came off and we came back less then an hour later I had the rist band in my hand and they said I had to pay $5 dollar cover because I took it off. I would have honestly spent the entire night there partying and drinking with my party of 8. But we needed the photo booth for a birthday scavenger hunt. So I paid there $5 cover took a pic and left with my group. When if they new what loyalty was we would have stayed if I didn't have to pay that cover when the bouncer noticed me and still made me pay and be all smart about it. Pravda is a good place to go dancing with friends, but it is just not my scene. The vodka is great, but if your looking to meet people then I don't really suggest it. The people are very snobby and remind me of the popular cliques in high school. For instance, I sat down to talk to these two girls and one of the girls was wondering what she should get. I suggested the vodka infused with pineapple and ginger and she said in a very valley girl voice that she" was watching calories" and then proceeded to order a vodka and tonic. Really unique club. Cover gets you into Sputnik as well which is up stairs. Well worth the price of admission. The decor is like older soviet era colors and schemes with a Ak-47 on the wall to boot. This place is not lady friendly. Just went here last night 4/1/16. It was me and one other female. We were dancing and of course guys want to dance with us, well when we turned a few guys down.
