They almost seemed unreal! I like to buy flowers on vacation to make my stay feel more luxurious, and I think they really make a place feel more like a home. 7 Euros (about $10) bought us three of the largest blood-red, most perfect peonies I have ever seen in my life. They even died beautifully, losing all their petals in a slow fragrant death by a kitchen window. Just gorgeous. Buying flowers here means the staff will take your bunch, arrange it into a bouquet for you, wrap plastic and paper in a such a way as to strategically show them off while protecting them during travel. For such a simple, small thing it was a fun tourist experience and likely one of the best flower buying experiences ever.

Mr. Semer took my order by phone, promised to create a cheerful bouquet for my budget, deliver it that evening, and send the credit card receipt to my home the following day. All good stuff. I found out the following day that the bouquet was beautiful and that the lovely Mr. Semer actually delivered the package himself. So definitely an address worth keeping handy for those flower-needy friends in the 18th.

I know I'm in Paris and there's a certain froideur between everyone, but this was just rude. I didn't realise that my selection of flowers had caused such offence because she just sneered at me from beginning to end, slapping the flower around carelessly. When two of the tulips got stuck together she actually exclaimed with a frustrated "urrrgh!" before flicking the pair repeatedly until one was thrown off onto the table. The bouquet looked good, but customer service was abysmal.
