Potato gratin, smoked salmon, and spinach.
Judy W.

Their bread is baked fresh in house, and the coffee is robust and not overly acidic. I ordered the potato gratin, smoked salmon, and spinach Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was amazing and not too decadent. The atmosphere is lovely, and even when packed it doesn't seem overly full. There's gracious enough space for customers to walk to the counter, restroom, etc without being packed into the establishment. I highly recommend this sport for a lovely brunch.

bircher muesli w berry compote & coconut yogurt

Went here for breakfast in the morning and it was lovely. Love the atmosphere and that they have outdoor seating. I got the bircher muesli (basically overnight oats in almond milk) with the coconut yogurt. Super yummy and filling.

Garlic mushrooms with spinach and poached egg on toasted ciabatta.

Chose to have breakfast here because of its location between my hotel and my first meeting of the morning. Tucked away in a sort of alley, I half expected it to be a bit of a dive but in fact it's a bright, airy and large establishment that is clearly very popular with locals. The coffee (flat white) was excellent and served quickly despite the large number of patrons, and while I had a short wait for my breakfast (garlic mushrooms with spinach, toast and poached eggs) came in reasonable time and hit the spot. The egg was poached perfectly and the rest of the dish was beautifully crafted and tasty (though it could have used more seasoning).

This place is a Wellington icon - beautiful restaurant and beautiful food. Lots of variety on the menu. I've heard good things of the sandwiches but am yet to try one. A must try if your passing through the windy city!

Went at 11am on a weekday for an early lunch when it wasn't too busy - the coffee and food were amazing, the service was friendly and quick, and the space was light and airy.

The only saving grace of this visit was its atmosphere. It is nice for a beer and maybe some hot…read morechips (which I have enjoyed in the past), but that's it. Our food order was nothing complex: a steak salad, eggs Benedict and chicken pancakes. The pancakes ended up being second choice because, 20 minutes after our order was taken, we were told that a first choice wasn't available. Our meals eventually arrived about 40 minutes later. Needless to say it was not worth the wait. The steak salad was on par with what you would expect from a petrol station (if petrol stations sold steak salads) tasteless dressing and day-old meat. I would normally expect eggs Benedict to have about 3/4 to 1 cup of hollandaise sauce, this dish had at least three cups of some sort of oily ersatz hollandaise sauce to swim in. I think I am comfortable to say that the chicken pancakes were unremarkable. Given the above, that's a win for Leuven. I'll be discouraging friends and family from visiting this place for anything other than satisfying their hankering for a Belgian beer.

The atmosphere is French bistro. The food is lovely to look at, served piping hot and very tasty. They also have a good beer selection on tap. We will be going back tomorrow morning for the breakfast special before we leave town. I highly recommend that you stop in for breakfast or lunch while you are in town. Well, we did stop back for the breakfast special Monday morning. Best eggs EVER. Great food-wonderful service and they even have a great music playlist. What's not to love? Great way to end our visit to Wellington!
