I get weekly shots for allergies so since I live 2.5 miles from here, so this saves me so much time. The building is clean. Lots of parking. Check in is now super easy, you can do in advance in myChart. There is always an ENT on duty so if you have an adverse reaction it can be managed quickly and thoroughly. Dr Curtis and his staff are excellent at managing my entire families complicated allergy situations. Highly recommend anyone on his team.

I was referred to this doctor via my functional medicine doctor. If I could give this review Zero…read morestars I would. The website states that they are taking new patients. It states on the website that before you can book an appointment you must: 1. Make an online patient portal account 2. gather all of your bloodwork etc. 3. fill out all of the new patient paperwork and questionnaires. 4. make a list of your supplements /medication I did all of this and left 4 messages over an 8 day period. No return call. The link on the website does not let you actually request an appointment. The office does not have a listed email. Someone finally answers the phone to rudely tell me they are no longer taking new patients. What a total waste of my time. She said I could call back in January of 2025 and see if they can take new patients then. But she certainly can't book me for January. What! I told her they have wasted my time filling out all of this paperwork, gathering my data, and I now have an account on their online patient portal. The front desk person was pretty dismissive. At the very least they need to update their website to not waste any else's time. since I can't send an email, and they don't seem to care - I am leaving my review right here.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kurpita's since before the pandemic. I have had in-office blood…read moredraws, seen the nurse practitioner and have had contact with MA's, billing, scheduling staff over the years - they all have been and continue to be nothing short of amazing. I called to reschedule an already scheduled appointment because I had tested positive for COVID - and just by the sound of my voice, the staff member (Mila) made sure I saw someone right away because of how concerned she was just by how I sounded over the phone! I had a televisit with the nurse practitioner within maybe 20 minutes of that initial call. They are on top of things for sure and I couldn't be more happy with any of the team or care that I get from this practice. This is an integrative medicine practice - so that means they are not a pill pusher, let's just cover symptoms with a Band-Aid type of care. They treat the whole person and, yes, that is with vitamins, supplements and, if/when needed, medical prescriptions. If you just want a pill to mask your ailments, stick with western medicine and trust your insurance company to decide what care is needed. I'm glad to be with a practice that doesn't go for a pill as the first line of treatment. Am I disappointed that they don't accept my insurance carrier any longer, of course - but insurance companies are a pain (and if you've worked for one, like I have) you know that many claims get denied for care that is needed or you have to jump so many hoops in order to "prove" you need certain treatments. I'd rather trust my doctor and her team and gladly self pay to ensure I get the right treatment when and how I need it. You can always use an HSA or just budget for appointments. There are times when I call the office and I go to voicemail, but I've always gotten a return call so it's a small price to pay to know I'll be properly taken care of. We are still in a pandemic and healthcare workers are overwhelmed right now in all settings. A little patience and understanding during these trying times goes a long way. I will also add that a few years ago is when my husband and I switched to this practice and he was having a few issues with leg pains and could barely walk in the evenings after working all day. Our niece, who was going to specialist after specialist, had a lot of the same issues and was already using a walker at 15. After reviewing his bloodwork, Dr. Kurpita was able to hone in on the issue, which ended up being genetic. Now my husband has fully recovered and is very active again and even cycles and mountain bikes again. We shared what we learned and my niece got tested and had the same gene - well, she had a full recovery following the same treatment! No more walker for her!! So nobody will ever be able to tell me that having the right vitamins or supplements doesn't work or is ineffective treatment, especially after seeing the changes in my husband and niece - you have to allow them enough time to work. I highly recommend this practice.

I went to see him for results uncovered in an MRI where they found a small tumor in my neck. I also am having severe neck pain (unrelated to the tumor) with radiculopathy in the left arm and shoulder blade. He recommended getting a CT scan and was to put in the request with the James Cancer Center. One day passes, and I check in with the James. They never received the request. So, I had to call the doctor's office to see if they'd put in a request for the CT Scan. They claimed they did but would "fax the James" right away. Magically, the James had me in their system after that. Oh...hang in there...I've got more reasons why Narvel is useless... I get a notification in the mail from my insurance provider rejecting my claim for a CT Scan. This happens the day before the CT Scan. I couldn't skip the CT Scan, so decided to sort all the financials out after. So I called Narvel's office and left a voice message. In the answering message, the office threatens to push your call to the back of the line if you call sooner than 72 hours AFTER your initial call. So I waited. The radiology report for the CT scan came back and I can't make heads or tails of it. So, I waited...and waited...and waited. And, you're probably saying, "Why didn't you call him?" The thing is...I did. And, got NO return call. Apparently, their answering machine is for looks, because it clearly isn't there to serve the patients. Again, I call the doctor's office to get some closure on the insurance rejection and the CT radiology report. To which the phone rep at his office told me my insurance company needs to fax the request for the MRI report. Yet, Narvel's office is at fault! They should've filed this with the original CT Scan request. Next thing, shouldn't it be a priority for the doctor to get back to a patient in a timely fashion who has something that could be potentially cancerous??? Not to Narvel. He couldn't be bothered. I can't make sense of a radiology report nor am I going to Google my answers. When I called today about these issues, they wanted to know if I wanted to book an appointment. For what? So, Narvel can waste everyone's time some more. Now, here's the part that will make you see why I believe Narvel is a trash doctor. I went to him for the lump in my neck and for pain radiating down my arm (from an unrelated issue). This clown didn't think I'd review his medical records. He completely and totally filled in whatever he was feeling like at the moment because he claimed I was "having headaches" and "no radiculopathy." Really? Because I could swear I NEVER said anything about headaches since I don't get them. And, I also said my arm pain is greater than the neck pain due to nerve issues. If that's not radiculopathy, then what is it??? If you go to Narvel or have gone, I encourage you to review your medical records. It's abundantly clear he's not competent nor conscious enough to adhere to the Hippocratic Oath. Do NOT under any circumstances go to this clinic. You'll get better care elsewhere.

The COPC lab on Africa Rd. in Westerville, is basically for walk-ins. After arriving, I waited and waited but I didn't mind because I am a patient person. Quite some time later, I was told that I had been called right after I checked in. Where I was, I would have heard my name called and I would have seen the lab employee. Never saw anyone looking for me and I never heard my name called. I was told the lab employees were going into a meeting. With people waiting to be seen, that was odd that they would have a meeting on the spur of the moment (ad hoc meeting). I had no idea how long the meeting would be and no one told me. Since I wasn't feeing well and had already waited quite some time, I needed to leave. Two MAJOR Concerns About the COPC Billing Dept. on Africa Rd.: 1. Shortly afterwards, I learned the COPC administration office charged me $25.00 saying I was a no-show which was untrue. I was there and I had checked in. 2. I do not trust the administrative office or the billing dept.! Also, I learned from a COPC employee in the Billing Dept. that their billing dept. charges a patient for lab work prior to the visit being processed by the insurance company. Not ethical at all. That is one reason healthcare is in dire need of reform!!! Note: The woman who checked me in wasn't friendly or welcoming. I had a very unpleasant experience with her. If you go there for lab work, you may wish to speak with one of the 'first' two ladies at the check-in area. They're names are Rebecca and Moona. BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL IF YOU CHOOSE TO GO TO THE COPC LAB ON AFRICA RD. BEST NOT TO PAY ANYTHING 'AT ALL' UNTIL YOUR VISIT IS PROCESSED BY YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. On my online COPCmychart account, COPC Billing Dept. was charging me and expecting payment right then, even though my insurance company hadn't had time to process it. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING THERE.

The complex has several offices for various functions; when I got to the "lab draw station" there were a few people waiting, and a sign that said blood draw patients might have to wait awhile. Okay, I have time, and it needs done. Waited about 10 minutes. Staff up front and in back were super friendly and professional. Draw was quick and easy. Over before I knew it. I'd definitely come back here for another test, or an appointment.
