However you don't stay inside a hotel because the outside is beautiful, you stay for the rooms amenities, layout, hot water, room service, etc. The WaterCloset: The linoleum tile in the bath room was coming up. There was clearly water damage in the water closet. When you open the door to the WC it opens into the WC, which would be fine if the layout was different. Instead of adding a *pocket door* thy made the door open to the tub. So when you step out of the shower/tub, you conveniently step on the door stopper! Ouchies. The door stopper is literally in the middle of the step out of the tub. Hot water was meh. There is a tub but you can't soak in it comfortably. The shower head was okay. Mixed reviews (ak unreliable) on water pressure and temperature. Depending on time of day. The Room Layout: Family was staying in the two level room, and meh. If you wanted space I would argue you don't get much more. And if you're older the stairs may seem fine but family review said the two story not worth it. I would agree, it felt smooshed. The double room with two twin beds were meh. There is no air flow in the bed rooms like in America. The UK also clearly doesn't know what a GFI outlet is, good luck if you think you can do your hair in the bathroom. And the window in our room was a sky light so if there is a fire and you can't jump up and at a 30 degree angle inward, and the fire is by your door... good luck. The Staff: Mid. No wow factor. Didn't seem too much to care about the guests stay. Interacted with three front desk gentleman. Their uniforms could be improved. Very cheap uniforms. Location: Good location to downtown. But there are other hotels nearby to stay at. Overall: Overpriced and overhyped.

I also appreciated the option to skip daily room cleaning, which came with a voucher--I saved them up and enjoyed a great late drink. The bar area is unique and a good place to relax and talk. Our team building was archery. The instructors were awesome and everyone had a great time. I even managed to get a good photo of myself impersonating Robin Hood! Cliff notes: Nice place to stay, but a bit out of the way. A solid location for a corporate outing. One particular painting I know for a fact upon my second glance piercing eyes in the painting followed me as I passed. I would probably need the hotel to be noisy and full if I ever stayed here, just to feel safe from any ..... er.....ghosts??!! All speculations of Mottram hall being haunted aside the place has alot to offer. The restaurant serves great food and the service is also good with friendly and approachable staff. Nathaniel's restaurant an AA Rosette Award winning restaurant's great for fine dining. The focus is on classic English meals but I hear they are changing the concept slightly, introducing a buffet style arrangement with a wide variety of things on offer. The grounds surrounding the Hall are vast with an array of activities available such as a 7000 yard championship golf course and clay pigeon shooting. There is also a spa and leisure club where you can work out or enjoy a range of treatments. It also seems an ideal wedding venue. So perhaps this is one yelp for the future. Some years down the line when the waist line and bank balance are both slighter bigger, and your post code starts with SK10.... Even before then for a very very special occasion or to treat someone take them to Mottram hall. A little dated on the exterior, but the interior was relatively modernised and it's a bit of a maze with the 'ground floor' facilities being located on multiple levels up and down staircases and lifts. Owned by the hotel chain Best Western, it's much more expensive than the average Premier Inn - a double room with breakfast included was £72, yet I didn't feel as though I was getting more quality. That being said, the parking was free and ample, staff were friendly, rooms were spotless, beds were comfortable and the breakfast options expansive and tasty. It was convenient for where we needed to be that evening but I'd prefer to stay somewhere equally as nice, but better value for money.

I booked ahead online, via booking.com, and would say the prices are reasonable. It's not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. The whole place was very clean and well kept, all staff we interacted with were very friendly, it's equipped with a large (and beautiful) bar/restaurant, and there is even a big outdoor patio space in their courtyard to enjoy. Our room had one queen size bed, a big chair, standard tv/desk, and a good size bathroom. It was literally spick and span, spotless. Almost to a fault because you could really smell the cleaning products/bleach in the bathroom. What was very important for us is to have a pack-n-play (or "cot" as they call it in England) in our room for our 10-month old son. I saw online ahead of time that they provide these upon request, so I called to reserve one and lo and behold there was one waiting for us in the room upon arrival. Plus it was very nice quality, looking pretty much unused. So, so appreciated! On our first night in, we ordered room service. The menu has a decent amount of options, but is a little on the pricey end if you ask me. We both opted for a burger, and it was so-so. Most importantly was the tasty wine and beer that we'd ordered as well. Very speedy delivery to the room as well. And on our second night in, we dined in the restaurant - Brasserie Blanc. What a lovely experience! The decor and atmosphere is truly delightful. Very open and spacious, with a glass ceiling in one area. The booths and seating are very pretty, with different colored couches and chairs, made up of well-match patterns and colors. The menu here is an expansion of the room service. I throughly enjoyed my fish curry! Other last things to note: there is an airport shuttle, however it's not for everyone. I believe you have to have some special kind of booking in order to use it, and it also only runs beginning at 9am. So that was a bit of a bummer having to order taxis both ways.

This was our fourth visit to this festival, but we have stayed in a couple of different hotels over the 4 years. The first couple of years we stayed in St Mary's Gate Premier Inn. Now, as Prem's go, this is quite a nice one... however... It's a Premier Inn (so you know exactly what you're getting). The last couple of years the hotel seemed to twig that something was going on and put up their prices to make the stay really blinkin' expensive (and thus worth us looking elsewhere). A quick search on the internet turned up the Copthorne Hotel. About a 10 minute walk away from the venue, free parking, free wifi and 4*. It was also a good £100 less than the alternative, so we booked without doing much research. Oh My.... What a find. The Hotel chain in the UK is mostly made up for 4* and 5* hotels which are located in most of the big cities you would expect them to be. When we checked into the room the first time, we were very pleasantly surprised. Spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. There is a fridge in every room and steam-proof mirrors in the bathroom (a lifesaver at a festival). The bed is mega comfortable and the all of the rooms are soundproofed as well (meaning you're not woken up by various people stumbling in in the wee small hours of the night). The staff are really professional and friendly. They've never once treated us any differently to the other guests when we've turned up in our "going out" gear and have always been extremely helpful when we've had any requests as per the room or facilities. Our stay over bank holiday weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) cost us £154 without Breakfast (but other guests scored the stay for £103). It will forever now be our go-to booking for visits to Sheffield.

The rooms are amazing, with free internet, very modern decoration, a hidden fridge, kettle and large flat screen TV with all the sky sports channels. The bed was very comfortable. The bar and restaurant couldn't be faulted and the staff were nice and helpful. And to cap it all it's attached to Sheffield Uniteds football ground, there is plenty of car parking room and the hotel is only a short walk from the city centre. I would definitely use this hotel again.

However, if you're looking for a SAFE hotel, this isn't it. They let my friend check in on my booking without my permission (he arrived 20 minutes before me) and let him use his card to swipe at check-in though his name was clearly not mentioned on the booking whatsoever. When I raised concerns about this at the hotel, I was flippantly waved off. I wrote an email to raise this issue with head office and was simply told I should have just booked a single room to avoid problems. Clearly staff at this hotel do not care about their guests' safety, nor do they care about customer service. Would definitely not recommend staying here.
