Staff are really great, from Jenna on reception, happy to swap my room when i needed a desk to work at, Fash, Stewart and Lucas behind the bar who are friendly and helpful without being over familiar, cleaning staff who are trustworthy and unobtrusive. Food is great with restaurant or bar service and quality dishes served. If you need to be in the area you could do a lot worse.

Not only is the hotel itself a lovely piece of architechture it boasts a lush green area at the back which has a gazebo, a gorgeous bridge over a small pond, a lovers swing...the romantic kind not the sexy kind you naughty people! They are Marriott Bonvoy members, so they almost exclusively stay at Marriott properties when they travel. I was in room 344 and my parents were next door in room 346. While the hotel is within walking distance from the airport, we took a taxi to and back instead because we had a ton of luggage with us (at least 3 bags each). You also have to place your room key in a special insert next to your door to get the electricity working, which is something that was very unusual to me. Pros: +Close proximity to the airport +My room had a great view of the runway and roundabout +Comfortable bed +Quick check in and check out +On-site restaurant with great food (try the risotto!) +Road/airport noise was not an issue Cons: -None, because it was a very short stay We had a great overnight rest here and we'll be back next time if we need to!

For £10 more you could get a hot stone massage, so I opted for that. We could arrive any time after 10am. We arrived just after 12pm. The drive up to the Bowfield is lovely. It's only 20 minutes outside Glasgow. The outside looks lovely and there is plenty of car parking space. Inside on the other hand could do with a good refurb, it's quaint but also stuck in the 80's. The changing area and pool was really run down, although parts of it was closed off to be refurbed, so that's a positive, although the pictures on the wall showing you what is going to look like, also states that it's to be completed in summer 2014 (last year) We used the facilities and then headed for our treatments, no one had told the lady taking me that I was down for the stone massage, so I had to wait for her to set up. The massage itself was lovely and I would recommend the hot stone massage. Once changed we went for lunch this is where I felt really let down. My friend, who had booked this phoned with our dietary requirements with plenty of notice. I don't eat bread and she has a dairy intolerance. They made her a simple tomato pasta and when I say simple I mean simple no thrills and tasteless and I was given the same. My friend was happy with this but I was not. We were also both given a fruit salad. We asked about the cakes and I explained I only don't eat bread. The chef brought out cakes and said here's the gluten-free cakes, I explained again that I'm not gluten-free, he then brought out some cakes that were obviously bought and not made there. I was really disappointed by the food. All in all I enjoyed the day but the food and decor really let it down.

The lady on reception was helpful and pointed us to the restaurant which is pretty dated. The chap serving there didn't come to seat us, so we had to approach him. The tea was pretty basic and obviously the bare minimum they could get away with serving! Tea was served in a metal teapot that stuck to the table! Cakes were bought in, scones were heavy and cream was artificial and tasted a bit weird. The walk to the "spa" sets you up for thinking its going to be pretty great, as it's very new and impressive. However, it's actually just a small pool, with no lights on, a small jaccuzzi which was switched off after we'd been there for a short time, a sauna and a steam room. The changing rooms need a make over - there is a sign up saying that they are being refurbished and they will be finished by "summer 2014". We visited in July 2015... The other thing about the changing rooms that we noticed that there were no fewer than 6 rules and regulations posters up - not very welcoming! The main problem is that in calling this place a spa, it gives visitors a certain level of expectation that they cannot deliver on. If you were staying at the hotel, you'd be fairly happy that these facilities were included however they barely merit a special trip. They were doing maintenance work in the pool are whilst we were in there, too, which meant we couldn't even hear each other speak, so we didn't stay as long as we would have liked to. Overall, it was just OK. I wouldn't recommend it or return though.

It's one the hotel that's right across from airport. A couple minutes walk through the parking lot and you're at the front steps of hotel. Check in was pretty easy. It's three floors and only two elevators. While only one was operating. It's quite small even though it has a minimum limit of people, there was no way that it seemed legit . So it was always a wait trying to get on. The room was decent, but really cold when we checked in. We got inside after 10pm so after being freezing outside, it was a shock entering the cold room. Restroom is pretty decent in size with a stand in shower. If you don't know, there's no outlet allowed in the uk bathrooms which is a common thing. Only thing available was for the shavers. Iron and ironing board, blow dryer also available. There's a small seating area next to bed. Bed, it's probably a full size which was comfortable. Outlets were on the side of the headboard with the adjustable light. The room itself was ok. You also needed your key card to operate the room. To warm up the room, we left one of the key in while we went down to the lobby for a drink. There's a bar next to front desk which operated late. We did wanted some food but only limited items available for late night dining. Your basic pizzas and some sandwiches were available. I believe it's a full bar but we just stuck to beers. Food wise, ended up ordering a margarita pizza and bbq chicken toasties sandwich. Pizza was ok but it didn't have the basil as it should. Toasties were ok as well and served with some potatoes chips. Service was ok, even though they asked if we wanted anything else, they never brought it. The silverware and extra sauces that they offered but never brought. The hotel offers continental breakfast with our stay until 9:30am. You have your traditional Scottish breakfast with bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage, fried tomatoes, baked beans, hash browns and different breads and pastries. Granola, fruits and cereal also available. Full coffee machine and tea but their juices were so watered down. Orange juice and apple was like drinking water with flavors. The food selection was good with a lot to choose from. It was good as it comes with the stay. Overall, it was nice. Easy walk over from the airport. Bar and restaurant inside. Downfall, only one elevator working. There was also a vending machine for all your essential if you forgot them.

I just stayed at this hotel on June 25 due to an early 7am flight the next morning. What a BIG…read moremistake. They are very family unfriendly and the hotel staff was extremely rude during our stay. After a very long day that included a delay due to a flat tire, we arrived late at night. While my wife went to check in and I and my 2 daughters returned the rental car and carried the luggage back. After getting into the room we discovered that the 2nd bed in the room was actually a very small pull out sofa bed that had no sheets. When I went to the front desk to request them, the lady there told me that we only had 2 people on our hotels.com reservation and that we were not 'authorized' for more than that in the room and that my 2 daughters must immediately leave the premises and find other lodging for the night unless I pay them $180GB ($220 USD) on the spot for the 2 additional guests in the room. It was midnight at the time and we had to leave to check into our flight in 5 hrs. I went back to the room and a short time later she was banging on our door demanding the money or for 2 people to leave the room. Regrettably I had to pay (now up to over $450 USD for one night) due to lack of time to find alternative lodging. But it would have been much cheaper to stay in town and use UBER than to stay at this hotel. After paying I overheard them talking about 'freeloading Americans' due to my only putting 2 people in the hotels.com reservation instead of saying it was a family of 4 and it seems (after looking into it later) that this hotel charges by the occupant, not by the room. If she had just politely explained things I am sure something could have been worked out.
